Man I just went through the same process with my 2012 had my buddy run his scanner and cylinder 2 and 4 were misfiring changed spark plugs and coils among other things that needed replacing and now she idles fine. Thanks for the video. Not to many people explain things to people who no nothing about mechanical stuff 😅
What else did you replace? I have a misfire on 2 & 4 too. Ive replaced the spark plugs the oxygen sensors and the cat it’s not the coils anything specific you replaced that fixed it?
@@itdoesntmeanathing I’m basically experiencing the same thing I’ve replaced the o2 sensors, catalytic converter, fuel injectors and new coil packs and new spark plugs so the only thing i know haven’t replaced the gastric high pressure fuel pump , and I probably need to clean the intake ports so if y’all have any advice im open to hearing them thanks 🙏
Yeah, the gremlins start showing up when you think an issue is simple. It happens, but it's good to have seen it checked from top to bottom! Great job!
Seems to be the season to be doing this on the early Velosters. About to do this myself, although I'm doing it in the opposite order you did kinda. LOL. Coils first, then plugs and I'm about to replace the injectors. It was a good video. Thanks for posting it.
@@lazriosjenkins1436 Not entirely sure. It didn't fix the problem so I'm sure it was probably a combination of the injectors and the valves being all gunked up. I ended up selling the car. Wouldn't have been worth the time/money to get it fixed when I could just sell the car. Which I ended up getting way more than the cost of getting it fixed. I was already going to sell it and get a new car, this just ended up forcing my hand.
@@lazriosjenkins1436 about 1700 USD. I could have gotten more but the battery was 100% dead and there were some cosmetic damage to the passenger side door handle and the steering column bushing needed replacing.
I got a question for you guys man so I had to misfire on just one cylinder starting I pretty much did everything that you guys did when I put everything back together my compression is at 90 and one cylinder the rest are like 150 . But I mean it was a misfire on one cylinder I was still driving it up until I did all this I don’t feel like anything I’ve done could’ve messed up a ring or broke a valve or you know i wasn’t inside of it got any tips ? No it was me by myself out there doing this I sent somebody the video of me doing The compression test and they said dude you did it with the gas on you’re supposed to unclip that so it’s not shooting gas up in the air do you think that could’ve caused a bad compression test? I’m about to just go put it back together and try again also the number is on my new injectors aren’t exactly the same as the old ones maybe I got Wrong injectors but I mean now it’s got white smoke and it does not run I mean it’ll start but it won’t stay running it’ll stall It’s got all new sensors new fuel system new spark outside of the wiring everything on that level is brand new I didn’t stick anything in the motor I didn’t take anything out of the motor just exactly what you guys did it’s going through the same stuff as you guys although I did do a Coolant bypass. Right now I’m replacing all the gaskets in the everything that was on the way to the to get that manifold out it’s really the last thought I have left other than I blew my motor why wasn’t running lol But I appreciate the video guys like y’all were going through the same stuff I was going through it’s just y’all put yours together and it worked
I would do a compression leak down test to figure out exactly where the air/compression is escaping. Possibilities would be intake or exhaust valve or maybe even getting past the injector seal or the rings. That test should be able to tell you exactly where the problem lies. Best of Luck!
Man I’m going through all this stuff in my car right now same car and I’m like Yelling at the thing no there’s four bolts on that manifold and two nuts I’m like I’m teach mechanic something and then you put the air back in the can and I was like all right yeah no I’m not on your level man
Good video, I like the way you explained things and passed on your knowledge to your son, you cannot buy experience that we got with age
Thank you for making this video. A lot of great information.

so did it end up being the injectors?

@@ZeilLibertas how much you get for it? also usd or cad?

Amazing video..keep it up!
We will!
How much did you spend on the 4 brand Injectors??
We have the Turbo same year
What did u have to remove to get to there? I see the belt may be off the alternator, what else was removed?
Right we pre-removed the serpentine belt, and air cleaner. I belive that was it.
Did you just pull the fuel rail really hard to get it out after removing the bolt?
I don't remember having to pull excessively to get the fuel rail out. Just make sure you have all four retaining bolts out.

I just replaced the Coil Packs + Sparks plugs
Now I have Code indicating Fuel Pump
