    ohhh I'm an MA (Mental Health Counseling at the Lynch School) student at Boston College. good luck in your studies, if you want to be a therapist make sure to keep studying, get that Masters/PhD/PsyD!
    fyi, i did my undergrad in English literature/linguistics at the university of Puerto Rico (definitely not a suuper well known university), gpa of 3.6(magna cum laude, university gpa doesn't get weighed), published research and a book. make sure to try to get involved in at least one research project during your undergrad. grad school is EXTREMELY competitive so I wish you the best!

    As a hs student negatively affected by covid my gpa dropped pretty hard but my junior year has been pretty strong having made honor roll for the past semester and having a strong sat at 1480. My unweighted gpa is a 3.2 but I have 100+ hours in volunteer work and am on the student board for my local teen center, am working on my emt certification, am a tenor in my schools percussion ensemble+ a section leader, and have a lot of part time job experience. I feel like my ecs are pretty strong but my gpa stats have me worried. Should I still apply Ed?

    Hi! I’m really interested in Boston College. My unweighted GPA is 3.9 and my weighted is 4.05. By the time I graduate next year, l’ll have taken 3 APs and 4 honors classes (so nowhere near as many APs as you).
    My SAT was a 1420 (760 math/660 English) but I’m considering retaking it because my English was very weak.
    For extracurriculars, I did volleyball freshman year, photography sophomore year, and a job at a doctor’s office junior/senior year. I also go to a performing arts high school that’s competitive and requires auditions to get in, so I practice trombone every day.
    In all honesty, do you think I have a good chance at getting in? I know some aspects of my application are weak, so I was wondering what I could do. I’m really nervous about applying this fall! Boston College, Boston University, and Northeastern are my dream schools!

    Putting my stats here so people can see - applying to BC ED2 (please let me in 😖😖😖)
    GPA 3.89 UW/4.56 W
    Top 10% (school doesn’t do individual ranking, but would assume top 30ish out of 750 class)
    I go to a public school ranked top 3.5% in usa, southern california
    APs: Euro, APUSH, CSA, Lang, Chem(HELLSPAWN), Macro Econ, Government, Lit, Art History, Stats
    I went test-optional because i didn’t like my score and it wasn’t in median for BC
    Extracurriculars include: 7 years of caring for/babysitting my little brother who is special needs so that took a lot of my time
    4 years of varsity track and field, 4 years of cross country(JV)
    2 years of my schools “big brother/sister”-like program that helped freshmen integrate into highschool
    Model United Nations(2 years)
    Internship with Congresswoman(4 months in my senior year)
    Six months of movie reviews through free unfinished movie program that let people review them to make edits for the final cut.
    will be updating next week for admission 🤞🤞🤞

    Thank you for this video! It’s very helpful for perspective students, aka people like me.
    I wanted to get your feedback to see if you think I’d get in:
    By the end of senior year I’ll have taken 12 AP classes, so far I’ve gotten 4s and 5s on the exams (hopefully it stays like that🤣). I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA and a 4.7465 weighted GPA (we do ours differently than yours I think). I’m ranked number 12 out of 691 students. My ACT isn’t very good, but it’s a 30. Standardized testing has never been my thing, but it’s okay!
    I’m head drum major for our marching band at my high school. I was drum major last year, as well as a section leader my sophomore year. I’m first chair clarinet in the concert band as well, and I’ve been in too band all four years of high school. I’ve been Vice President of an outside club called National Charity League for 2 years. I’m also in other clubs, such as national honors society and word search club.
    I’m not trying to flaunt myself, I just really want someone feedback. I’m very stressed about college admissions, especially to Boston College. I toured there over the summer and I fell in love with it. I really hope I get in.
    Thank you for any comments and I can’t wait to see more content!!

    Hello! BC has always been my dream school! My weighted GPA is 3.74. When I graduate I will have taken 10 AP classes and 6 honors courses. My sat score is a 1230 (however I a grinding to raise it at least 200 points) For extracurriculars, I did orchestra 4 years, French 2 years, National Honors Society 3 years, French Honors Society, dance two years, and did a ton of volunteering around my community. I am working on making my essays in the best possible manner and will be applying regular decision. Do I have a chance with schools like BU and BC? im not positive, but if you feel like other parts of your application (transcript, essays, etc.) are solid, then your application should still be competitive! I am applying Early Decision and am on an IEP (I have ADHD) at my high school. My school only has weighted GPA (goes to a 4.2) and my GPA is a 3.5 on that scale. I have a 1110 SAT. I wasn’t allowed to take honors classes due to my IEP and have only taken 1 honors and 1 AP. I really want to go to this school, and am positive about BC being the best place for me to go because I grow intellectually when challenged. I have extremely well-written recommendations, a good amount of extracurriculars (Robotics, Jazz Band, Soccer, and Softball) and I am in the middle of writing my essays. What do you think are my chances?
    Sorry for such a long comment!

    • @auzeos4400
      @auzeos4400 5 лет назад

      Emma bit you need a higher SAT. Shoot for 1350 at least. Also, you need to be taking tougher courses (more APs and honors). If you can’t, try making it up with an even higher SAT and solid extracurriculars.

    • @emmmbern
      @emmmbern 5 лет назад +2

      juancho I’ve taken the SAT three times and I haven’t really improved much from my 1110. People with ADHD just aren’t good standardized test takers and it sucks.

      You shouldnt have such an attitude if u wanna do well. I have ADHD too and I always do way above average (and I know a few other peeps with ADHD too and they also got perfect scores). Don't let ADHD limit you, or don't use it as an excuse. You can always use concerta or ritalin.

    • @emmmbern
      @emmmbern 4 года назад +3

      Bobo Kolina Every person has different levels of ADHD. It makes everything harder for me school wise but it doesn’t limit me completely so I don’t know where you’re getting this “excuse” thing from. You also don’t go to my school. I wanted to take honors and AP classes but I was not allowed unless my mother chose to overwrite a recommendation. Which she didn’t so I couldn’t do anything about it. Fyi I didn’t get into BC (makes sense).

    • @emmmbern
      @emmmbern 4 года назад +3

      Bobo Kolina I forgot to mention i’m not saying everyone who has it is affected badly by ADHD because i know ppl with it taking APs, however, everyone has different LEVELS of it and are affected in different ways. Keep that in mind.
