Hey everyone, I was the gray player in this game and thought I would add some additional insights. Wall of text incoming.
2:11 - Teal reached out to me to ally, I responded with 1 and we solidified as a “friends forever” alliance shortly thereafter
3:20 - This username was created in 2012 or so, yes it was an Xbox gamer tag. I am currently 31 and I am in fact married and have one kid. I have often considered changing my username in some places but it is just ubiquitous at this point and I still think it’s funny.
4:20 - I had no idea this was going on with orange but it explains a lot with how this game went down 11
28:55 - green enemied me because I tried to take a relic from near his base, he enemied me and killed my monk
42:54 - my fire ship JUST misses green’s king here which is very sad… T90 had it on the screen for a moment
48:17 - horrible moment, I message blue that I am about to go for blue. I genuinely did mean to type yellow and felt really dumb for the mistake. I have a bad habit of typing someone’s name when I am typing to that person. I make the same mistake later when saying that blue is going for teal when they actually said purple, that one was also just an honest mistake.
49:54 - I thought about getting Caravan for the trade cogs but I was so out of gold and I honestly couldn’t remember if Caravan affected the ships or not.
1:01:09 - I can’t say for certain but I think this pause was caused by my computer freezing. My game completely locked up and I thought for sure it had crashed (white screen, blue spinning cursor, game not responding). I took my hands off the mouse and just prayed and somehow my game recovered. It was really horrible timing because I had sailed some cannon galleons around the east side to go for blue’s king and I think they went down while the game was frozen for me. Really glad my game recovered.
1:03:09 - biggest T90Blind moment for me. One of my cannon galleons found the king’s transport ship, and even landed one shot. Unfortunately my ship went down before getting a second shot off so blue’s transport was just damaged. Second near miss of a chance to kill a king on water. T90 points out how weak the transport ship is moments later.
1:04:15 - none taken
1:12:00 - I put some units near teal’s castle ideally for after purple died. I could have timed this better, obviously.
1:15:00 - this is so painful to rewatch, I did not have eyes on purple’s king so I did not get to move my army in time.
Sorry for the novel but I wanted to give some additional context for RUclips viewers. This was an epic game, my first community game. I had a huge smile on my face for the rest of the day after this game was over. GGs to purple and teal, and everyone else who played. Thanks T90 for all you do for this community.
If you are going for a king snipe... transport petards take out the castle and then your cavalry could clean up the king. You had your cav sitting there for so long, so obvious that a snipe was impossible.
Please never change the name, pass it down to your child.

Hi all, harryt here! In an indirect way, I have to be thankful to the community. I’m currently studying for the bar exam and wanted to take some time off to hop into a community game. If I wasn’t ganged up on so early, I likely would have played a lot longer than was responsible. Fortunately, this ended up not being a problem! Shout out to Zenith and Culero Connor, I’ll make sure to return the favor next commie game 😊

Ever since Dave stopped doing World Diplomacy, these have been a great replacement.
I think Yellow took Red's initial request as an underlying indication red would betray them at some point in the future when it was more convenient for them, so yellow figured well hell why wait for it to be convenient for them.

19:00 AMB_Oak in the chat lives in the UK and practices archery every Sunday afternoon. I've heard that the tradition of archery persisted long after the adoption of gunpowder weaponry in England; can any other UK residents weigh in on how commonly practiced archery is?
Here in the U.S. I took an archery class in middle school around age 12, but that was over 20 years ago and my old school no longer offers it. That's bad enough, but they got rid of the wood shop too! We don't want our kids to know how to, you know... do things for themselves.
Zenith made an awful choice of an ally with Yellow over Red. Red was beginning to steamroll the wild card aggressor Yellow. He could have had such a bond with Red had he come to Red’s aid and then he’d look good among the others in the world and probably wouldn’t have been targeted like he was for allying with a warmonger
blue should have started prepping his island for the wonder way sooner

I stopped playing AOE2 like 20 years ago but enjoy these community games. I'm a Diamond League Player in SC2 but have played a handful of AOE2 games over the last 20 years. I know nothing about the meta of AOE 2 other than always have villagers training and castle drop your opponent if possible. Who would like to see me in a community game?

Weird diplo game. Yellow attacking red early for no reason. Green backing yellow and telling him to rope in Blue. Red dies then everyone attacks Green. Orange is a wild card lmao.

I really hope we get a version of this mod where there can be land at the edges of the map too, so that people can't just get completely surrounded and swamped by water

check mods in game, there plenty of mods easy and quick to subscribe and install them.
What happens if the last 2 kings die at the same time (e.g. inside a sunken transport ship or from another king explosion)? Is it a draw?

I feel like this game had a lot of trolls who have never seen a single T90 cast and just go around communities jumping into games they have NEVER played in their life. That or they trolling for attention and know full well to ally everyone at the start or what exploding kings is or to build a TC at the start

The water is just blocked with stones making the corners wasted space
I always wonder, why it is that players almost always insist on eliminating each other, instead of just weakening one another.
Things like blackmailing and periodic tribute to avoid destruction, are just a few of the things that are missing, but of course exploding kings has gone a long way and the meta keeps evolving with every video that gets posted, so hopefully players will get inspired by this comment and consider more complex diplomatic relations soon enough.
If someone tried something like that against me, I would be more likely to just send my king at them.
@@thomasfplm thats why expolding kigns are so lame... It playes to the cards of lame and uninventive players bcs they can just go BOOm if they know they are loosing.

I remember a game that ended up in both players tower rushing each other, and it was fun, but I don't think I would like for it to happen too frequently.

"Need to upgrade motors"... T90, sailing ships _don't_ have motors. What they can get is more efficient, and more sails, which increase their maximum velocity... and other things which minimize fouling of the hull (which causes reduction in maximum speed)...
That's the joke.

I think explding kings as a concept are pretty dumb. :Dlike I am losing so I´m gonna send my king to death to your base... So dumb. some king snipe bounty would be cool tho.
