Hey. I drive a heavy car on racetrack and in the alps so I feel you. You are 100% correct on your video description, brake inspection / brake fluid is mandatory. What makes brake caliper heat that much is : -Slow speeds -Maintained braking -Poor wheel arch ventilation, -High disk temperature. You can help by doing only heavy braking actions instead of constant little pressure. You also shoud consider getting more air in your wheel arch with brake deflector, and why not brake ducts directed to the rotor center. You have iron brake caliper, they unfortunately hold heat compared to bigger aluminium ones that have more dissipation area. You can also check titanium brake heatshields. For my application, huge wheel arch ventilation helped a lot ;)
Thanks a lot for the feedback, I should be called very soon by the authorities for the mandatory inspection so right now I'm waiting on the call to start reverting everything back to stock to pass the control. Won't do any mods in between of course but Yeah as soon as I start the back to stock process, I'll look into everything regarding brake performances. Hell, after I pass this shitty control, I'll probably go for bigger upgrades, brake kit, suspensions, busings, we'll see. The stage 3 (upgraded turbo) is so tempting but always start with the handling before power I guess. Anyways, I'm rambling haha, thanks for the feedback my friend
@@Fiestastix I really like the way you think. The majority of car enthousiasts nowadays only speak about power, nothing about handling, safety or cooling . Braking is one of the biggest problems of cars ( even my brother with his M3 competition F80 ) Downhill obviously is one of the worst case scenarios for brakes. You won't find magic solutions, except cooling the brakes by trying not to brake at all for few turns and straights , at a sufficient speed . Beware that big brake kit will help , but it's not a miracle . Get some air in your arches :) You can also buy a cheap ir thermometer, and check multiple times during your course the temperature, and how it evolves . ( Only on rough surfaces , not the rotor ) You can use adhesive brake temperature sensors on your main caliper ( not the sliding one )
This format has no future for obvious reasons, some might say it's not encouraging the safest way of driving. But I am just filming my personal sends while you'll see countless bikers going time trial on those roads. For sure safety on the road is paramount, I have boundaries, not about the sheer speed, more about the experience. It's not a race track, for sure. Can't possibly grow a YT channel with that format, it's gonna get deleted eventually. I'll see what will come next since I'll go stage 3 in a couple of weeks, we'll see brother, stay safe yourself. Hey pal ! Got some ST's too in Ukrain ? That's awesome, even here in Switzerland I rarely see some. Yeah straight lines are as boring as it gets for this type of car. But you can have plenty of fun just messing around in city roads like in roundabouts and stuff ;)
