If it would be all right I am assembling a PS2 and for some reason the screws are tricky to screw on and I was just trying to fix the power button and the pull out button. Also this video helped me somewhat. Thank you for making this
I tried to disassemble my working ps2 model but after reassembly doesn’t power on :( I changed the buttons ribbon cable (because it detached and lost the blue tabs) Maybe I connected it to the wrong side of contacts? I am desperate…
@@rubi-w- the blue tabs are critical for the cable for the power button cable to work properly. Replace the blue tabs with a plastic card of a similar size (you can cut one to size) otherwise buy a replacement cable and you will be okay.
@@fasttechvideo Yeah I bought replacement ribbon cables and it has the blue plastic to help it stay in place, but I don’t know why the ps2 buttons still don’t light up, maybe I connected them the wrong side?
7:03 a blown fuse would indicate excessive draw. The correct procedure for diagnosis would be to monitor mA DC draw across the fuse on power up and trouble shoot from there.
I have a question, is it safe to switch to a 220v Power Supply? cuz the online store I am searching on has a power supply tho people said it is 220v, and the PS2 FAT's OG Power Supply has 110v
I fixed my laser drive and then the Disk drive just stoped working I realized I forgot to plug the laser cable and then it stoped working. Eject light ain’t working also but the system powers on any fix for my dvd drive?
@@fasttechvideo after I plugged the ribbon cable into the laser it’s still wouldn’t work it’s like it worked for a second after I installed the laser and then nothing. The dvd tray ain’t working the laser ain’t turning on 🤔
When my console powers up, it flashes from green light to red light, also disk drive struggles to open and close. Any tips? or maybe some parts that need replacement? Thank you
Hello sir, I have an issue with my ps2, it switches on normally but did not display on the TV screen at all, the TV can not even read it's signal but the ps2 is On and also the AV cords are working perfectly after I tested it with a multitester meter nd confirm it with another Ps2 with the same TV

The same thing goes over and over again... No display on the tv at all since it couldn't start up but trip off back to flashing red standby... Pls what could be the issue here and how can I solve it?
hello i need help.. my ps2 will boot fine and no issue at all at powering the console but my controller port doesnt work.. i tried 2 different new ps2 controller still dont work i tried replacing the ribbon connector and ribbon cable still doesnt work..
I have a phat ps2 here that doesn't have power I opened it up and not only can you not see the state of the fuse as it metal and painted white but you cant change it without desolering it. My guess is I have a completely different model.

my unit is kepp freezing with games or without games on it i change the battery clock that they say but its the same,its freezing..i guess its something to do with thwrmal paste or pads..can you help me..🥲
Try a reflow on the emoticon chip. If that does not work I would recommend using a thermal cam to find shorts / hotspots on the board. It is normal for emoticon engine (cpu) to run hot.

I agree. However sometimes it can be a short, liquid or even a single follicle of hair in the wrong place on the psu that can cause that fuse to blow.

Yes you can switch out the power supply as long as you plan on using it in a country that uses 220v
I got a fat ps2 that has a rusty AV multi out. It shows a messy picture when it’s on. Any way how that can be repaired?
Yes you can replace the port and you can also install a hdmi port on these

Do you have to unplug the ps2 to get to to blink red light again?

Its usually the video encoder chip or the filters that need to be replaced.

My PS2 turns on but no video/audio signal when connected and if i try to push eject disk button, it doesnt work
Seems like a mainboard issue but im not entirely sure. My experience working on these consoles is limited
