Parents: there is nothing wrong with being realistic. I have told my children, "you can do anything. Either way your kid will be mad at you (for not supporting their dreams or for not being honest with them). If you're going to be a jerk anyway, at least you can save them from embarrassment.
You could tell he had worked so hard to get and maintain his look and style, and probably convinced himself that he could sing. The problem is that most people can choose a style and pull it off if they work hard enough, but singing takes natural talent and if you don't have it, you will never be good at it. You could tell that he was absolutely crushed and his world came crashing down around him when they said no because he probably thought that is what he was going to do in life.
But why would you let a friend participate on this show if you haven’t heard him singing at least once before? The guy in the pink shirt looked seriously baffled by his performance o.O
I sometimes wonder if they're just delusional or if they're doing it for a joke/dare. Their "friends" (who needs enemies ?) also might be egging them on for their own amusement, despite knowing how bad they are. The act of most concern though is the last one. To think that a maths teacher who not only can't sing but thinks he's much better than Tom Jones is very worrying, esp for his students.
I blame their family and friends who don’t say something to these people when they sing so horrible. They allow these people to humiliate and embarrass themselves in front of the whole world! That 51 year old Alan Walton, poor guy didn’t have his shirt buttoned right, lol.

The problem is that most people can choose a style and pull it off if they work hard enough, but singing takes natural talent and if you don't have it, you will never be good at it.
