  • Yo .........we are back and this time we are going to be looking at the Courant Koala arborist saddle.This has been a really great compliment to my Valiant saddle .This saddle is super light weight which make it great for flying around when pruning or just doing light climbing work......
    special thanks to Peter De Vries (Designs by De Vries) for taking the time to answer my question and provide feedback

    Been working with an arborist for a few months now and bought one of these a couple weeks ago as my first harness. Stoked with it so far but im new so time will tell. Wish there was more online content of ppl using this harness!

    Oh nice, I have seen the saddle on the webside of my provider but to see it in a video is an other story. So thanks for that!
    The connection rings between legs and saddle called Odin (God of war?!?) are cool.
    Maybe some day I get one of these perhaps with a nice new saddle ;-)
    Thanks for sharing and doing this videos for us

    Nice video brother, and I like the set up you’re rockin on that new saddle. That valiant of yours was super heavy so I’m sure that’s a welcomed addition to the arsenal for pruning the new one there. Stay safe brother!

    Looks like a pretty nice saddle, I like the adjustable bridge set up you did. I was thinking about getting the keeper but I’m trying this new lanyard setup that I seen in a video and I’m digging it so far I’ll eventually make a video showing it. Climb safe brother and God bless 🙏

    I'd be interested in hearing pros and cons to an adjustable bridge. Keep thinking about upgrading to that on my saddle but haven't really looked into it much.
    I'm sure people have touched base on it already but it seems to be a touchy topic.

    • @InDisTREETV
      @InDisTREETV  2 года назад +2

      Adjustable bridge is my preferred way to do it....I think it's a touchy subject because most saddles do not come that way so you need to modify parts of your harness to accomplish it....possibly resulting in safety failure,injury or death if not done correctly

    • @Joshman5000
      @Joshman5000 2 года назад +2

      I copied scoot and added a CT roll n lock right on to the stock bride on the MB saddle, it’s midline attach so you don’t have to untie the stopper knot on the bride to thread it er nuthin. Ad a zip tie or 2 to keep it fixed to the rigging paw and ur in bid-ness dogg. Quick n easy process, the roll n lock just jams against the rigging paw and zip ties keep it stationary when the bridge goes slack and there is your stopper knot still at the end so in the event it slipped some, the stopper would keep you from going any anywhere.

      The lanyard keeper is pretty sweet Dustin it isn’t perfect by any means and that top piece that you pull to take up slack can be knocked off on occasion but it really speeds things up over all and keeps the lanyard in a clean and tidy form out of the way

    dude, l love tree gear review channels. l could care less about seeing guys drop n fell trees or removing ladders (all non-deciduous trees😀). gear reviews, gives me tons of ideas to incorporate into my system/set-up. for instance those courant “odin” open/close bridge rings… those are badass.
    thanx.👊🏼

    Just out of curiosity do you possibly have a recommendation of saddle I could look Into for my teenage sons? I seem to find mostly just recreational kind of harnesses online that are geared towards "kids" and not "working saddles" per say.
    I have twin 12 yr old boys that are 5'2" and 135lbs just to give you a idea of they're frame that want to "take over dad's business" when I want to call it quits and they are entering the workforce.
    Naturally I would like a good value but would like something they could possibly grow into for the next yr or 2 as they won't be climbing daily. I don't spending the coin for quality gear but "dads" not ready to rush of and buy a mb saddle 😬 I appreciate any input 👌

      Unfortunately I don't know what advice to give you...I really only have experience with the equipment that I actually use and I don't think any of them are what you need....I wish I could help you but I try to make it a habit not to speak on things I don't know anything about...definitely keep me posted on what you find because I love to see people getting their kids involved and sharing the passion 🤙

    I’ve wanted this for a while. I bugged my shop for it for around a year and a half, and they told me that although they carry the brand, they can’t get the saddle. Looks like a cool pruning harness. Mine is good but kind of heavy to use all the time. Thanks for the review. Why not try the buttboard? I thought it looked cool, but maybe that’s because I’m biased from skateboarding 😂

      This is a great pruning saddle and it is a bit cheaper then the petzel sequoia and the but board is a cool option but I really don't sit much while pruning so I think that would be a great feature for removals...or a quick game of skate😜
