It's because trump embodies the anger and stupidity of the majority of republican voters. As soon as a candidate sounds smart or reasonable they become a rino/establishment.
I agree. This guy is younger, far more articulate and hits all the right buttons. But people can’t get over their obsession with trump.
Trump is a favorite partially because his policies were for the most part great and partially some support him because he makes the left bleed from their eyes.

I don't understand the media's characterization of him as "dull" and without appeal. This guy speaks in complete sentences and elaborates sound policies. Head & shoulders above Biden and Trump.

It bothers me so much that Florida had a law that would have made the Governor ressign if they were going to run for president, but coincidently a bill passed right before he announced his campaign, that basically now let's him run and be governor

Terrific interview.
Disney brought attention to themselves and upon review of their situation with prior governments offering concessions that no other company had. Now they are in line with other companies in Florida. You can argue they were "punished by losing those concessions" but they are still free to say and do what they want regardless. They just won't be able to bite the hand that fed them. I don't feel a bit sorry for them in that regard. They were acting a bit too big for their britches and got more than they bargained for in consequences. If there are companies supporting conservative policies that are also getting concessions who bring attention to themselves in the same way, they will no doubt find themselves losing those concessions as well. That doesn't put them at a disadvantage now to any other company in that state so I would not be worried about the other party doing the same thing. No one should get an advantage from governments that others don't.
I’m Canadian. This was a great interview. Mr DeSantis is well rounded. Young bright family man and bold strong opponent against giant corporations. He definitely would eagerly work with principles for the best interest of his people

And as a Floridian, I know you have no right as a Canadian to know how bad Ron Desantis is at governing. He literally is using his power to hurt anyone who doesn't have his view. I do like that he kept Florida going in the pandemic, i think our economy was not really affected by COVID under his position. But that really boosted his ego, because he decided to control the state regulations in his favor, he assigned a State General Surgeon who had altered studies to follow Ron Desantis political agenda. So when there were 2 vacant state positions, who would be in charge of controlling communicable diseases, it can only be assumed they resigned or he fired them and never filled their position. Well now Milaria is back in the US, and which has local transmission now? Florida. Well now where is he when we need him? Oh he is campaigning, he does not care about the people. Well, its not his fault he wants to be president, he can't help that he was already governor right? Wrong, even though he was a governor, Florida had a law that made the Governor ressign if they were running for president, but he passed a bill that changed that. Now he is gone. Florida is one of the states that has the highest increase in inflation. A big part of our economy is agriculture and well we are developing like a lot of new roads, buildings, and businesses still, most of the workforce who is in construction and agriculture are illegal immigrants, which have helped the economy since most do have to pay for taxes, yet they dont benefit from government programs, and they get paid less while farmers earn more, and as for construction they get paid well but most of the workers have left construction sites, he drove the entire workforce out and that is why now we are the most affected by inflation. Not to mention, many Americans want car manufacturers to sell direct to consumers, so that way there are no insane markups from dealers and you pay the price you see, like how Tesla sells vehicles. Well Ron Desantis made sure this was not gonna happen in Florida, because a lot of the owners of those dealerships lobbied so that dealers are the only ones that can sell vehicles. Americans don't want that, he does not care about the people, he only cares what benefits him.

The question is are you okay with a liberal removing tax subsidies from let's say a Chick-fil-A for their speech?
It’s the reason it was done. He had no problem giving those benefits to Disney before this. When he became governor, he knew the benefits they got & was fine with it. But once dissent was thrown his way by them, he took them away. It was punitive & is definitely a first amendment issue, whether anyone on the right wants to admit it or not. Remember that the bill of rights don’t just stop with the people you like. You can’t just turn a blind eye to shit like this.

It's been a long time since I've been this torn between Presidential candidates. Last time I voted for JFK but there is no Democrat candidate that I could vote for with a clear conscience now. I'm thinking Trump did some good for America but Democrats have become so evil it's going to take someone like DeSantis to have a strong, no nonsense approach to rescue America from their evil!

Great interview. I became a DeSantis supporter in spring ‘21, because I saw how he threw it all to the wind and stood up for our freedom. It was a year before the re-election campaign, and it looked like they were going to destroy him. They called him DeathSantis. They called freedom, freeDUMB. He didn’t care. Since then, I’ve grown to admire him more. He volunteered to help fight in Iraq as a JAG officer. He could have made more money on the outside, having just graduated from Harvard Law, but he sacrificed that future for one of service to his country. Through that experience he learned that neo-conservatism and liberal interventionism are failed concepts. You can’t remake countries in our image. The future doesn’t come with How-To Manuals. Trump failed us at the beginning of the pandemic and his actions leading up to J6 should disqualify him from ever holding public office again. DeSantis, on the other hand, is guided by deeply held principles, honor, and love for our country. We need a leader that can bring those qualities to our government and restore faith in our institutions.

Trump supporter here. I think DeSantis did an excellent job in this interview. Megyn also did a great job with questions and challenging him to properly articulate his positions.
I would be more a trumper but he is about Biden’s age. We desperately need younger people in government. That is on both sides. I am sorry that trump is so old.

He is truthful about visiting every county. I used to watch this. He had speeches in every county on tv so he was so transparent about what he was doing. He also has tremendous stamina.

Good point. I have thought he should go to someone and say, I will come on your show is you ask be about international issues. Nobody ever does except about Ukraine. He thinks we should try harder to get a peace treaty so we can get out of there. Past that no one has asked. He had a tour in Afghanistan that he NEVER mentions. A lot of military veterans want us to stay out of wars. I have heard others complain the young men have to fight the wars stated by old men. He absolutely has a backbone. But he prefers other solutions. I don’t think that is weak. It is the weak men like Biden who get us into stuff. I am concerned Biden wants to send troops. DeSantis is adamant against boots on the ground. My husband was in Viet Nam which honestly colors my attitude. He was in the army 30 years. People who have always sat at home don’t know what that would mean. Obama trump Biden all happened to avoid the military.

There was no need to push it further. It would've just gone round and round. I'd like to see more of him in this style of interview.

Great interview! I was excited about DeSantis early on and then lost interest. At the same time I have found Vivek to be inspiring and motivational but am not sure he could win the nomination just yet. I like Gov. DeSantis more than I did before this interview and feel that should he get the nomination, he would make a good president.
Nobody’s cares about DeSantis. Trump or none.
*I like his policies. I dig what he's done in florida, I really do. But- I can't see the things, which I like about the guy, translating to the presidential office. Not to mention.. he has that whiny, Yale, "whull... NUH-UH, YOU ARE..", entitled, defensiveness to him. I don't trust him sitting in a room with world leaders attempting to earn respect/build rapport, much less negotiating on behalf of national security. He's got balls, but- they're governor balls.
