Loudness was one of the great in 80’s. Saw them few times here in Europe. Great band. They are still doin’ gigs 👍 Last week they performed together with Nemophila. That’s why ladies did this cover
I have only played on 6 string and 12 myself. But 7 string guitars are used in metal quite often. I'm not quite sure what they are tuning too for the song and their originals which they play 7 strings a lot but the 7 String Standard = B E A D G B E) . I like to try to jam some on a 7 string just never got around to getting one. Loudness is a Japanese metal/rock band from 1981 to present. They are pretty popular and played in the states too back in the 80s. They were big hair metal and they kicked ass. Nemophila just played with them last week on their tour and have played a show with them before and covered their song Crazy Doctor. Nemophila while having 3 albums and other originals started off in 2019 then when covid hit they were locked down like so many and begin doing covers and putting them out on their channel on youtube.. They even have a 4 song ep of covers they released last year. They are known for covering a song of a band they are touring with that show too. Their covers are amazing and they have lots of covers over the years but their originals is where they shine the brightest. But this cover kicks ass and Hazuki is just shredding that solo.
7 string guitars have been very common in the past 10 years, and now even 8 and 9 string guitars are also used by many people. The function of the seventh string is to allow you to get a lower range, the two guitarists of nemophila “hazuki” and “saki”(ex guitarist) all use 7 string guitars.
A lot of the metal guitarists, especially out of Japan are using 7-string models now (mostly Ibanez). Hazuki's bandmate in Koiai, Lisa-X, also plays a 7-string Ibanez. Saki, ex-Nemophila, plays a 7-string Killer guitar. Killar guitars are owned by Loudness guitarist Akira Takasaki.
These ladies are the Queens of covers. You know they are in the studio recording their next album when a lot of covers come out. they cover Jpop to Heavy Metal and everything in between.
The two guitarists in Animals as Leaders both play EIGHT-string guitars. The two extra strings are much lower register and allow them to play without a bassist.
Loudness are one of the most important bands in Japanese rock history, and the first Japanese hard rock or metal band to get commercial traction in the West. Their lead guitarist Akira Takasaki has his own line of guitars manufactured by ESP, and has mentored many of the younger guitarists on the scene today including Saki and Hal-Ca. He has done a lot of collaborations with the Queen of Japanese metal, Mari Hamada. Loudness are still active. Re. guitars, Hazuki and Saki both play 7-strings and a number of other Japanese shredders play them.
