Nemophila was formed in 2019. Lead singer Mayu was looking for a backing band for a live session, she called her former classmate, bassist Hariguchi-san. They found Tamu Murata, a highly in demand session drummer. And guitarists Hazuki (ex-Disquala) and Saki (Mary's Blood). Named after a flower because they are all female. A nemophila is a 5 petal blue and white flower, native primarily to the American west. They have 3 albums to date, this song is from their 2nd record Seize the Fate. It is one of the heaviest in their discography, most of their songs have a mix of harsh and cleans. With most of the harsh in English, and the cleans a mix of Japanese and English. Saki recently decided to leave the band. They are continuing as a 4 piece, with Mayu playing some guitar, and solos more of bass and guitar as opposed to 2 guitars. For another song from them, and a little more representative of them, try "Oiran" (official live). "Dissension" and "Adabana" music videos.
Mayu has a very beautiful clean voice. This is one of the rare songs where its all scream. I always describe her clean voice as a beautiful mix of Pat Benatar with a little Joan Jett, especially when she throws in some grit. As far as the other ladies go, the drummer Tamu is one of Tokyo's most sought after session drummers. She has played in sessions that range from Jazz, Pop, Punk, Metal, Prog and Rock. Tamu has taught drumming, hosted a drum based YT program and performed drumming clinics throughout Asia. Tamu is also a classical pianist, plays jazz sax and guitar/bass. The bassist Haraguchi-san can play all styles incredibly well; whether its slap, pick or fingers. The guitarist Hazuki who played the short solo is a technical wizard which can be found highlighted in the demo videos she does with Ibanez to promote her signature Ibanez guitars and products. Then the other guitarist Saki unfortunately recently left the band (they are continuing as a 4 piece), but she has been a respected staple in the Japanese metal/guitar scene for over a decade and has pretty much been a big sister/mentor to a lot of aspiring young Japanese female shredders. Like LoveBites, Nemophila has a lot of great diverse songs, and you really need to explore their whole catalogue to fully appreciate the talent these ladies have.
Mayu is tiny but both her scream and her beautiful clean voice are powerful af. This is one of their most extreme metal tracks. They have plenty more that go hard but also some great melodic songs. Epic musicians.
Most promising metalband in this planet. They have it all..Passion 🔥 Work 💪 Heart ❤️ Talent 🤘 Magical band, amazing musicians, humble humans. Even now, when other guitarist left, they are stronger than ever, better than ever. They play whatever they want, from ballads to thrash metal and killed it. Hope they get all the Glory and credit they deserve here in Western World. Lovin’ Nemophila ❤️ Greets from Finland 🇫🇮🤘 Btw: Singer and drummer are also mothers 🔥❤️🤘
"Zen" was written by the bassist Haraguchi-san so she'd have a song to meditate to, hence the name (try just closing you eyes, breathing calmly, and just let the song wash over you). Nemophila is considered a heavy metal band but they cross and blend metal genres a lot, and have influences from punk. They have also called themselves the "light and fluffy band from hell".
This song is written by the bassist and she think this is Zen - and I agree. Listening to the rhythmic screaming and instruments just pounding it repeatably is very soothing. Like meditation.
You nailed it in yor comments about how we feel their music, Nemo is a awesome band, they can do anything, from a power ballad, to metal core. Nemophila are: Mayu: singer, dancer, pianist and also play guitar and some drums..also a mother of 2 y.o son (Nemo plays in AFTERSHOCK festival in Sacramento when Mayu was like 6-7 month pregnant) Hazuki: Lead guitar, 7 string Ibanez (one of the faces of the brand in Japan), master of the instrument, she do clinics around Japan, She has another band called KOIAI and she plays there with Lisa-X. a 19 year old prodigy who opened poliphya's show not long ago in Japan, and played with them, that's the level of these girls. Haraguchi-san: Bass, 5 strings Sadowzky an Atelier brand, also guitarist an entrepeneuer. Murata Tamu, mother of two, play drums, guitar, bass, saxophone and very good pianist. Recommendations: for ballads, Now i here and odyssey and also Life, more powerfull songs: Rise, Revive, Raitei, Adabana, Oiran, Dissension, Back into the wild They have also very cool covers from Iron Maiden 8The trooper, Aces High), AC DC (whole lotta Rosie), Halestorm (Lovebites)...and more...
Nemophila are one of the bands to watch, no question. They just started in 2019 and blew up fast. They almost seem to be enjoying a private joke, that goes "Hi, we're a bunch of cute, fun girls and we are going to rip your face off, and you are going to like it.” They are a supergroup, currently composed of: ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu (founded the band) ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki (also plays with Lisa-X) ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Murata Tamu (she is also in high demand for session work) Until April 2024, they were a 5-piece band. The fifth member, and actually the band-leader until she left, was ex-Mary's Blood guitarist Saki, arguably one of the top metal guitarists in the world. It remains to be seen as of this writing what directions the band and Saki, respectively, will take. Saki is the only one who had been with a breakout band before (Mary’s Blood). Hazuki and Murata-tamu are also considered elite musicians and have worked with a lot of other top artists. Hara-san is the youngest but is clearly a great talent and has been developing in front of our eyes. She has already written several songs for the group. Mayu is quickly establishing herself as a unique vocalist capable of both cleans and hell-raising screams. Initially, they were just a side project, co-organized by Mayu with some help from Saki, largely to keep busy in the early days of the pandemic. They started by posting metal covers of well-known rock, pop and metal songs. Then they began posting originals, starting with “Oiran” ruclips.net/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/видео.html The viral reaction seems to have convinced them they were onto something potentially big, so they’ve been putting a lot more work into it, including some successful live-streams and an appearance at the annual Japanese female rock festival NAONのYAON. They tend toward hard and heavy, but also do ballads and some pop covers. Drummer Murata Tamu took time off to give birth to her son, and on her return, the rest of the bandmembers gave her a welcome back that resulted in an extremely moving moment captured on live stream: “Life” ruclips.net/video/HFnEYhbEAqg/видео.html After Oiran, others to check include "Dissension", which will fry whatever is left of your circuits: ruclips.net/video/26aMuahxz8c/видео.html and “Raitei”, which means “Thunder” in Japanese, and yes, they bring the thunder: ruclips.net/video/lh-dVLKP314/видео.html More recent drops that showcase their intensity and versatility: “Adabana” ruclips.net/video/AxYiOwsu6wU/видео.html “Style” ruclips.net/video/Aph5GON6rPc/видео.html (written by their bassist, Haraguchi-san) “Seize the Fate” ruclips.net/video/4tpgLyckVYg/видео.html “Rise” ruclips.net/video/rD3VMAm-9iA/видео.html Since Saki’s departure: ruclips.net/video/Q_AKdgQd20M/видео.html They have toured the U.S. twice. I saw them live and they blew the roof off the place. Nemophila’s youtube channel: ruclips.net/channel/UCvoAeGZoC8giXP59NOZABIAvideos If you haven’t already, another band frequently suggested after Nemophila is Hanabie. Try “We Love Sweets” ruclips.net/video/G18yyvPCiTM/видео.html
I can only add one thing maybe, which is that Mayu can switch from harsh screams to her clean soaring voice in a millesecond. Most singers would need some kind of transition, but she has this superpower.
Nemophila is amazing, and very diverse in styles.. many great tunes to choose from. Raitei mv, Adabana mv..Oiran live, more recent they covered Loudness/Crazy Nights as their evolved 4 member band and their original song Rise.. and it's fantastic..They're next level musician/artists, and theyre capable, as is Mayu (vocalist) of melting your heart in a ballad, and your face as in metal, and everything in between..
Now it is the perfect timing to react to their other song - ODYSSEY! It is completely different style from ZEN, and will definitely shock you again! 😆😆👍🏻👍🏻 ruclips.net/video/J8RhjQpFf_Q/видео.htmlsi=Bfaueae2euaII3Yv
Mayu, who i admire vrey much is SOMETHING ELSE.She performed last summer in the Ozzfest, live, pregnant,i think 5 months. She is now a good mother, but goes on doing this power girls THING
Your reaction to why they are so heavy makes a lot of sense because they have such high energy and so committed to their music. They are my favorite metal band. Listen to Dissension, Adabana and Game Over if you have a chance. Great reaction.
Welcome to the kickass world of Nemophila. These ladies are amazing. Would break them down more but others have already told you a lot about them . I saw them in Dallas back in March last year and they blew the roof off the place. this is probably their heaviest vocal wise though others come close. But in this one she screams and growls through it all. They have many great songs and done many kick ass covers too but their originals is where they shine the most. Try Oiran Live. there are two of them but try the most recent from about 11 months ago. Oiran was the first song they recorded together. Others would be Adabana, Dissension, Revive, RAITEI , Amateras and many more. They are mostly metal but can play anything from all styles of metal to rock even 80s 90s power ballads here and there. Amazing band. They are now a 4 piece band instead of a 5 piece but still rising and kicking ass.
@@MrsRealistic Actually they did right before Dallas. That tour was a small one only 7 dates I think. Some out in California then they played Houston , played SXSW and then Dallas and finished in NY. Yes can't wait for them to come back to states eventually.
Fire as always. Saw them live twice in SoCal and they are extremely talented and very charismatic. Mayu is a beast on vocals. I've said it before these all-female Japanese bands are just incredible. So many elite leveel musicians.
OMG i didnt know they sounded like that!!!! the first time i heard from them was when they did a cover of Kurenai by XJapan ,it was the english version and i was blown away cause they did an excellent job ,this ,like you said, has an early Pantera feel i love it! gonna ck more of their music!
Keep going down the Nemophila rabbit hole. The next song will be different and the one after that will be different...and so on. But they will all be amazing.
You know what Zen means! As you say, Japanese bands are greatly influenced by foreign music, such as Slipknot, but we have a policy of not copying everything as it is, but rather trying to build a new genre while giving it a Japanese character.
I don't think many metal musicians are "Classically trained" these days, I think its more that compared to the 80s and 90s you need to be at the TOP of your game to have a career in metal.. You have to put on the best shows each time you play, and its also the drive of the genre of music that pushes people to improve.. And with the internet now, teaching yourself has never been easier.
Sadly i cant read but by volume of comments i assume you have learned alot. Did they say Mayu (singer) can sing almost perfect English but can only speak a few words Her insane vocal range is comparable to Tatiana (Jinjer) she & band play everything from all metal genres -rock - pop punk - rap metal - middle eastern (Hypnosis) & more Drummer (Tanu) has mastered almost every instrument (female Prince) Both guitarists (one recently left) are 2 of only 4 females in J-rock/metal that play 7 string guitar Mayu also plays drums, piano & guitar. Haraguchi-san (bassist) owner of cutesy fashion label has written some of bands heaviest songs (Zen) and rocks out HARD live They also played covers of influences: Metallica, Pantera, Slipknot, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, System of Down, Motley Crew, Skid Row, KISS, Linkin Park, Japanese iconic bands Its there live shows & diversity that stands them apart from other J-bands. There insane energy & charisma and always smiling & having fun while playing badass music! Less than 5yrs together Nemophila recently played at Nippon Budokan (pinnacle arena in Japan) Bands like Band Maid & Lovebites haven't achieved this / been invited Enjoy your J-rock/metal journey! Its criminal Nemophila still haven't been discovered by West rock/metal scene. They mostly like commercial J-bands like Babymetal LOL
Cheers for info bud. One of best & loudest live shows ive seen. There stage presence & energy is incredible. Mayu's singing voice is as good as her insane screams. Badass band!
Jumping into the deep end for sure with "Zen"! As someone who was a young adult in the 90s I know where you're coming from. The chaos was almost a religion. Looking forward to more Nemophila!
For me the main portion of the song is like a 'heavy mantra' leading finally into a 'zen moment' at the end...but as you say we all experience art differently :) NEMOPHILA is my favorite band right now. Thanks for reacting to them!
You will enjoy the most recent live performances of OIRAN and REVIVE; both are heavy and frenetic. To hear a different side, watch the videos for MONSTERS and ODYSSEY. ADABANA and AMA-TE-RAS are perhaps peak examples of the NEMOPHILA hard and fluffy sound.
You had the pronunciation correct on the first try. I saw these five ladies in February at the legendary Budokan. When I first saw the arena, I ran up and gave it a hug. These ladies are tiny but adorable and beautiful and soooo good live. I don’t care about genres, but I wouldn’t call this death metal. I’m sorry that lovely Saki left the band, but she’s been keeping busy since. I hope she’s happier. The band’s remaining guitarist, Hazuki, is in another band called Kaioi where she shares guitar duties with the great Li-Sa-X. They’re worth checking out too and just released two live videos that are very different from each other.
Every member is simply phenomenal and multi talented. But don't let Mayu's vocals in this create a picture of her as a vocalist for you. Or the playing create a picture of the band. For a couple examples of how beautiful a voice Mayu also has check out Now I Here , odyssey, Hypnosis among others. And for a totally different feeling of them as a whole, check out Style and life.
This is one of the few songs where Mayu screams all the way through the song. She also has a beautiful clean singing voice! On most songs, she does about 50/50 screams to cleans, or a majority cleans. A couple other members also have some lead vocal moments on a few songs. Bassist Haraguchi-san has some lead vocals on their cover of the Minions "Banana Song" (which is hilarious), and on the song "Blooming." Drummer Murata-tam has some lead vocals in their cover of Maximum the Hormone's "Zetsubo Billy."
If you came to know NEMOPHILA through ZEN, you will be shocked when you listen to "ODYSSEY". Also, I recommend the Official Live Video of "Life", one of their representative songs. Knowing in advance that “Life” is a song dedicated to the drummer who returned from maternity leave, you will be able to understand the meaning of the video and be more moved. When you turn on the captions, English subtitles will be displayed.
🤣🤣🤣 - well this song is a hell of an introduction to Nemophila ! Word of warning - all their songs aren't this heavy and the description of a " Hard Rock band " is fairly accurate - although they are SO much more . This song was written by the bass player Haraguchi-san ( which is why the spotlight stayed on her at the end of the video ) supposedly because she wanted something to listen to while she was meditating 🤷♂ . To give you an idea of the versatility of the band I've put 3 links to 3 VERY different songs below - ENJOY ! " Adabana " ( MV ) - ruclips.net/video/AxYiOwsu6wU/видео.html " Amateras " ( Live " - ruclips.net/video/96LQimRqJgM/видео.html " Odyssey " ( MV ). - ruclips.net/video/J8RhjQpFf_Q/видео.html There are lots more songs worth listening to but IMHO these 3 give you a true idea of their range
Japan has mandatory music education from age six to age fifteen. The high schools also offer performance venues where the students can get stage experience. As a result, by the time they graduate from high school, they are highly trained seasoned performers ready to enter the professional world. Japan also has top-notch music colleges for those students who want to take their training even further. Of course, this expertise is not limited to the metal bands. Japanese rock, pop, jazz, classical, etc. are all as good or better than anything you have ever heard.
As with Band-Maid and Lovebites, Nemophila is a genre busting, and as you mentioned gender busting, band that can take you on one helluva journey! 😊🇨🇦🇯🇵 Check out “Life” as it’s the opposite end of the spectrum for them. Or maybe it’s a circle, something to ponder.😊
Now, Nemophila has lots of facets. This is their heavy side. Different songs have different styles. And Mayo, the singer, has a beautiful voice, and do much more than screaming. They are kind of metal though with seven string guitars and a five string base and a very impressive and hard hitting drummer. They also are known for their fantastic covers that they have recorded mainly to amuse themselves or maybe as show cases. That is mostly hard rock. Mostly no screaming. Mayo has a very good voice for hard rock and surprisingly one of the guitarists, Hazuki, shows her skills at singing in a few songs.
I was gutted when Max Cavalera left SEPULTURA since his works with the band and NAILBOMB were my favourite metal songs of all time. SEPULTURA lost its charm and SOULFLY didn't really clicked with me eventhough Max is there. About a year after Max left SEPULTURA, an 'Asian version of him', ARU, formed KOFFIN KANSER and had been my go to band that remind me of the good old SEPULTURA. Ten year later, Max and Igor back together to add another band on my list, the CAVALERA CONSPIRACY ...and I always come back to KK and CC once a while to relive the moments of my younger days. I thought those 2 bands were my only 'escape' but ten years later, one of my favourite drummers Tamu said she met some friends and forming s band, NEMOPHILA. Hearing mayu's voice for the first time really sparked my interest... and years after that, lo and behold, ZEN was released, a track that could easily fit in for my KK and CC playlist. ... and I am thankful for their existence. NEMOPHILA is phenomenal and getting better every day 🤘🏻
@@panterarufo9734LOL... what makes you think I am that young? Well compared to both Max and Igor, yes I am young... but only by 'single digit' year difference 🤭
@@panterarufo9734😂 you are mistaken. Hirona is my friend who help me with Japanese translations but she didn't play the drums. I think the one playing drums you saw was from 24 seasons drum performance? That's another contributor - Nur Aishah, who helped me with voice for mayu regarding a song LIFE... and she is my daughter! So yes, I am old 😅
Wow you picked their heaviest song! Believe it or not but this song is all English too. They have a wide range of styles, so give their video Revive a try. They also have many fun covers, such as Iron Maiden’s Trooper. Definitely talented women.

You're right, that's a bit nuts. Well you started with their heaviest song to date...haha! 🤣 Here is some addition info that may find helpful. Thanks for the great reaction to NEMOPHILA! Most people start with Dissention (MV, Japanese ver.) or Revive (MV) and then Adabana (MV), Rise (MV), etc. Nemophila (neh-moe-fee-la) has a WIDE range of sound and style...here are some suggestions based on Mayu's lead vocals (cleans vs screams) Cleans Raitei (Live) ruclips.net/video/6aoghIEPOYc/видео.html Seize the Fate (Live) ruclips.net/video/yyKGK1Se4bo/видео.html Odyssey (MV) ruclips.net/video/J8RhjQpFf_Q/видео.html Life (live) ruclips.net/video/CxmLOhDVoyw/видео.html Cleans + Screams Revive (Live) ruclips.net/video/t2eMoKvsvBE/видео.html Rise (Live) ruclips.net/video/DaFN5J4iPLI/видео.html Dissention (MV) ruclips.net/video/26aMuahxz8c/видео.html Oiran (Live) ruclips.net/video/5qABnfChpbk/видео.html Adabana (MV) ruclips.net/video/AxYiOwsu6wU/видео.html Ama-Te-Ras (Live) ruclips.net/video/96LQimRqJgM/видео.html Screams Zen (Live) ruclips.net/video/k1yPbBRHFms/видео.html 'Zen' (live), Oiran (live) and Dissention (MV) are some of their hardest and best songs 'Odyssey' is an incredible power ballad (80's style) while 'Live' is an emotional 'ballad-like' song sung in the video as a 'welcome back' to Tamu (drummer) after her maternity leave. Great songs that show the softer side of Nemophila. 'Ama-Te-Ras' is quite unique 'groovy metal' song and one of their best as well
Nemo is freaking awesome and my last bucket list band I have to see live. You will also appreciate the band Hanabie though different the fan bases are pretty much the same. I suggest We Love Sweets or Pardon Me I Have to Go Now.
I think your last pronunciation is the correct one. Nemophila is a five petaled flower (hence their logo), however, they are sadly down to only four members now. You wouldn't believe it listening to this song, but Mayu actually has a lovely clean singing voice too. This song is one of my favorites from their album Seize the Fate. Another favorite on that album is Waiting For You, which is a completely different vibe. There's another song from this concert called Change the World, reacting to that back to back with this one will show you that they don't always sound the same.
Yes, I guess that is how most people pronunce it, I do too, but the correct scientific pronunciation of the flower's name probably is the last one, but don't quote me on that, because I might be wrong, I am from time to time, believe it or not 😁What I am right about however, is the fact that you'll fall in love with this band, and the women behind it, like so many others have done. And I agree with you, they remind me of the bands we grew up with. I didn't listen that much to Pantera growing up, but now I own most of their albums. Yes, I still buy CD's, and yes, I use an MP3-player. I'm a dinosaur, I know 😆
@Pascal-the-Rascal I prefer cd's!!! 😆 My car doesn't even have android auto or whatever it's called. It's a 2013 and still has a cd player 👌 We also have a 2005 Tacoma and a 2019 Tundra... both have cd players 🙌
@@MrsRealistic Yeah, it doesn't matter if we're talking music, games, or movies, physical is the way to go 👌😁 My car is a 2014 Toyota Auris hybrid, it has a CD player, which I never use though, and bluetooth, so I can connect my MP3-player to it. However, it's an old iPod nano, and the battery isn't what it used to be, so I connect it via USB instead. Oh, I just noticed the zen pose silhouette in the thumbnail, I actually have a black wooden figurine of a woman doing that exact pose 😄
wow, you are clairvoyant, aren't you - as a matter of fact they are all trained professional musicians))) the most gifted of them all is Murata Tamu - drums, she is a multi-instrumentalist, piano trained, but also she is a fully developed singer too))) I would say - "bull's eye" on your last comment)))

@@kirilkirilov7185 Pantera, Megadeath, Guns and Roses, Metallica, Ministry...there are so many that I listened to! I have a pretty eclectic taste in music from Classical to Rap, but the good old heavy metal always brings me back to my youth! I graduated in '93.

This is a great band unfortunately one of the guitarists has just left to do her own thing and has an EP coming out soon. You might be surprised to hear that the singer is married with a baby and the drummer is married with two children. Please do their song AMA-TE-RAS or Rise.
As far as metal categories go, don't bother trying to name one. There are so many sub-categories of metal that it's just ridiculous at this point. Just say metal, that's all you need. Regarding preconceived notions of Japanese women, these ladies are pretty much that off stage, but when they get on stage, as you can see, they're very different.
Thank you for all of that info!
No pude decirlo mejor! Así fue.
Mayu has a very beautiful clean voice. This is one of the rare songs where its all scream. I always describe her clean voice as a beautiful mix of Pat Benatar with a little Joan Jett, especially when she throws in some grit. Tamu has taught drumming, hosted a drum based YT program and performed drumming clinics throughout Asia. Tamu is also a classical pianist, plays jazz sax and guitar/bass. It's hard to imagine that the drummer is a mother of two and the singer has one child.
Esos bebés serán la continuación del metal japonés.
Miyako and Asami both from Lovebites also have children. Japan has great possible future for metal.
This song is written by the bassist and she think this is Zen - and I agree. Listening to the rhythmic screaming and instruments just pounding it repeatably is very soothing. Like meditation.
Her lyrical timing was superb!
To be fair, she seems to be most alive on stage when the band does their heavy stuff. Probably the most metal, in a band of metal women.
@@Ephem13 That is probably true - she loves when it is heavy. But Mayo is rather metal also I would say.
You nailed it in yor comments about how we feel their music, Nemo is a awesome band, they can do anything, from a power ballad, to metal core. Nemophila are:
Mayu: singer, dancer, pianist and also play guitar and some drums..also a mother of 2 y.o son (Nemo plays in AFTERSHOCK festival in Sacramento when Mayu was like 6-7 month pregnant)
Hazuki: Lead guitar, 7 string Ibanez (one of the faces of the brand in Japan), master of the instrument, she do clinics around Japan, She has another band called KOIAI and she plays there with Lisa-X. a 19 year old prodigy who opened poliphya's show not long ago in Japan, and played with them, that's the level of these girls.
Haraguchi-san: Bass, 5 strings Sadowzky an Atelier brand, also guitarist an entrepeneuer.
Murata Tamu, mother of two, play drums, guitar, bass, saxophone and very good pianist.
Recommendations: for ballads, Now i here and odyssey and also Life, more powerfull songs: Rise, Revive, Raitei, Adabana, Oiran, Dissension, Back into the wild
They have also very cool covers from Iron Maiden 8The trooper, Aces High), AC DC (whole lotta Rosie), Halestorm (Lovebites)...and more...
Sweet thank you!
Nemophila are one of the bands to watch, no question. They just started in 2019 and blew up fast. They almost seem to be enjoying a private joke, that goes "Hi, we're a bunch of cute, fun girls and we are going to rip your face off, and you are going to like it.”
They are a supergroup, currently composed of:
ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu (founded the band)
ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki (also plays with Lisa-X)
ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and
ex-Soramimi drummer Murata Tamu (she is also in high demand for session work)
Until April 2024, they were a 5-piece band.
Then they began posting originals, starting with “Oiran” ruclips.net/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/видео.html
The viral reaction seems to have convinced them they were onto something potentially big, so they’ve been putting a lot more work into it, including some successful live-streams and an appearance at the annual Japanese female rock festival NAONのYAON. They tend toward hard and heavy, but also do ballads and some pop covers. Drummer Murata Tamu took time off to give birth to her son, and on her return, the rest of the bandmembers gave her a welcome back that resulted in an extremely moving moment captured on live stream: “Life” ruclips.net/video/HFnEYhbEAqg/видео.html
After Oiran, others to check include "Dissension", which will fry whatever is left of your circuits: ruclips.net/video/26aMuahxz8c/видео.html and “Raitei”, which means “Thunder” in Japanese, and yes, they bring the thunder: ruclips.net/video/lh-dVLKP314/видео.html
More recent drops that showcase their intensity and versatility:
“Adabana” ruclips.net/video/AxYiOwsu6wU/видео.html
“Style” ruclips.net/video/Aph5GON6rPc/видео.html
(written by their bassist, Haraguchi-san)
“Seize the Fate” ruclips.net/video/4tpgLyckVYg/видео.html
“Rise” ruclips.net/video/rD3VMAm-9iA/видео.html
Since Saki’s departure:

They have toured the U.S. twice. I saw them live and they blew the roof off the place.

If you haven’t already, another band frequently suggested after Nemophila is Hanabie. Try “We Love Sweets” ruclips.net/video/G18yyvPCiTM/видео.html
I am going to check out hanabie as well! I've got a good list going 😁👍
I can only add one thing maybe, which is that Mayu can switch from harsh screams to her clean soaring voice in a millesecond. Most singers would need some kind of transition, but she has this superpower.
Nemophila kicks ass !!!!😊❤
They sure kicked mine! LOL!
Sugoi! ♥️ NEMOPHILA!!! A favorite fun fact about them - Mayu (lead singer) and Tamu (drummer) are moms. Arigatou! 🤘🤘
As a mama myself, I LOVE that!
I look forward to hearing more!
Other side of Nemophila ! "now I here [Official Live Video]" They do great power ballads.
or "Odyssey"
Sometimes, in order to get to your Zen moment, you have to navigate through a great deal of stress, noise, emotion, etc.
Very well put!!
Now it is the perfect timing to react to their other song - ODYSSEY! It is completely different style from ZEN, and will definitely shock you again! 😆😆👍🏻👍🏻
ruclips.net/video/J8RhjQpFf_Q/видео.htmlsi=Bfaueae2euaII3Yv
Awesome! Thank you!
Also add in their cover of Minion's Banana Song too
Nemo are amazing and can and do play any thing and its all great .
Mayu, who i admire vrey much is SOMETHING ELSE.She performed last summer in the Ozzfest, live, pregnant,i think 5 months. She is now a good mother, but goes on doing this power girls THING
That's so awesome!!
Your reaction to why they are so heavy makes a lot of sense because they have such high energy and so committed to their music. They are my favorite metal band. Listen to Dissension, Adabana and Game Over if you have a chance. Great reaction.
Thanks so much!
Ein Meisterwerk, Sensationell und hervorragend 👍👍
Dallas! Cool! Hopefully they'll come around to the Austin area some day!
How cool! I wasn't sure if they toured worldwide or not!
Muchos músicos de élite, pero como Mayu no hay muchos. Es un regalo de Japón para el mundo!
Amo a Nemophila gracias por reaccionar me gustó mucho tu apreciación y comentario! Saludos desde Buenos Aires
What a song to start Nemophila on... Nice react btw! I hear you!
Thanks! 😁
Rise (official live) showcases more of Mayu's clean vocals next to her harsh vocals.
I look forward to hearing that!
OMG i didnt know they sounded like that!!!! the first time i heard from them was when they did a cover of Kurenai by XJapan ,it was the english version and i was blown away cause they did an excellent job ,this ,like you said, has an early Pantera feel i love it! gonna ck more of their music!
I’m The Warning and Nemophila fan. The lead singer also has a clean voice. These members are great musicians. Keep doing them
I plan on it! 😊👍
Keep going down the Nemophila rabbit hole. The next song will be different and the one after that will be different...and so on. But they will all be amazing.
Huzuki was playing piano at age 4 an is one of the best guittarist in the world 🤘🔥❤️
It seems to be the theme for these Japanese bands...and I'm not surprised. They have different standards over there! :)
Hazuki es la guitarrista del momento! Su estilo me tiene enamorado.
You know what Zen means!
As you say, Japanese bands are greatly influenced by foreign music, such as Slipknot, but we have a policy of not copying everything as it is, but rather trying to build a new genre while giving it a Japanese character.
And it's AWESOME!! I loved this so much, as did my husband!
Their cover of The Minions (Banana Song) is hilarious!!!!! For something on the other end try (Odessey)!!!!! Thank you for what you do!!!!!
That sounds hilarious! My kids would probably love that! 😆
Sadly i cant read but by volume of comments i assume you have learned alot. Did they say Mayu (singer) can sing almost perfect English but can only speak a few words
Her insane vocal range is comparable to Tatiana (Jinjer) she & band play everything from all metal genres -rock - pop punk - rap metal - middle eastern (Hypnosis) & more
Drummer (Tanu) has mastered almost every instrument (female Prince) Both guitarists (one recently left) are 2 of only 4 females in J-rock/metal that play 7 string guitar
Mayu also plays drums, piano & guitar. Haraguchi-san (bassist) owner of cutesy fashion label has written some of bands heaviest songs (Zen) and rocks out HARD live
They also played covers of influences: Metallica, Pantera, Slipknot, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, System of Down, Motley Crew, Skid Row, KISS, Linkin Park, Japanese iconic bands
Its there live shows & diversity that stands them apart from other J-bands. There insane energy & charisma and always smiling & having fun while playing badass music!
Less than 5yrs together Nemophila recently played at Nippon Budokan (pinnacle arena in Japan) Bands like Band Maid & Lovebites haven't achieved this / been invited
Enjoy your J-rock/metal journey!
I have a feeling they'll be well known soon!
Jumping into the deep end for sure with "Zen"! As someone who was a young adult in the 90s I know where you're coming from. The chaos was almost a religion. Looking forward to more Nemophila!
Yes, the 90's feels like the last great era. I hope we see something like that again one day... but I don't know that it's possible!
For me the main portion of the song is like a 'heavy mantra' leading finally into a 'zen moment' at the end...but as you say we all experience art differently :)
NEMOPHILA is my favorite band right now. Thanks for reacting to them!
This song was pretty epic! I look forward to hearing more!
Thank you!
musically it doesn't get any better than the scene(s) in Japan...
Haraguchi-san Haraguchi-san Haraguchi-san! "Hai"
You're so lucky! I bet it was an amazing show! I got my husband to check this out and he LOVED it!
The lyrics are quite positive
Well practiced masters of their craft. ❤
Mayu, the singer, also does great clean vocals. Hope you check it out
I will! Thank you!
Start with Zen is hard core! 😄
I wasn't ready! LOL!
Awesome! Thank you!
" Adabana " ( MV ) - ruclips.net/video/AxYiOwsu6wU/видео.html
" Amateras " ( Live " - ruclips.net/video/96LQimRqJgM/видео.html
" Odyssey " ( MV ). - ruclips.net/video/J8RhjQpFf_Q/видео.html
There are lots more songs worth listening to but IMHO these 3 give you a true idea of their range
Yeah, I probably picked a shocker for the first one! LOL! Thank you for the info!
This should be the case in every country! They clearly have a different standard over there! 😉😊👍
Thank you! I look forward to hearing a softer side!
If you want a complete 180 from this song try their Power Ballad
NEMOPHILA / ODYSSEY [Official Music Video]
That's my next on the list! 😊👍
Sweet! Thank you!
Ten year later, Max and Igor back together to add another band on my list, the CAVALERA CONSPIRACY
...and I always come back to KK and CC once a while to relive the moments of my younger days.
NEMOPHILA is phenomenal and getting better every day 🤘🏻
Tu juventud? Pues que edad tienes! Tengo entendido que eres muy joven OvD.
Sepultura me gusta mucho también .👍
@@panterarufo9734LOL... what makes you think I am that young? Well compared to both Max and Igor, yes I am young... but only by 'single digit' year difference 🤭
Pensé que eras esa niña que toca ta dulce la batería llamada Hirona! Creo que me equivoque, lo siento!
So yes, I am old 😅
Jajaja! Ok mucho gusto, osea ud es los que hace videos de Tamu y su conexión con los miembros de la banda. saludos desde Buenos Aires 👍 @@OvDevilz
Wow you picked their heaviest song! Believe it or not but this song is all English too. They have a wide range of styles, so give their video Revive a try. They also have many fun covers, such as Iron Maiden’s Trooper. Definitely talented women.

Welcome to Nemophila this is their only song with just harshe vocals. Most are a mix try Revive or Oiran live next.
Try to listen "Revive" ever by Nemophila

Well you started with their heaviest song to date...haha! 🤣
Here is some addition info that may find helpful. Thanks for the great reaction to NEMOPHILA!
Most people start with Dissention (MV, Japanese ver.) or Revive (MV) and then Adabana (MV), Rise (MV), etc.
Nemophila (neh-moe-fee-la) has a WIDE range of sound and style...here are some suggestions based on Mayu's lead vocals (cleans vs screams)

Ama-Te-Ras (Live) ruclips.net/video/96LQimRqJgM/видео.html
Screams
Zen (Live) ruclips.net/video/k1yPbBRHFms/видео.html
'Zen' (live), Oiran (live) and Dissention (MV) are some of their hardest and best songs
'Odyssey' is an incredible power ballad (80's style) while 'Live' is an emotional 'ballad-like' song sung in the video as a 'welcome back' to Tamu (drummer) after her maternity leave. Great songs that show the softer side of Nemophila.
'Ama-Te-Ras' is quite unique 'groovy metal' song and one of their best as well
Great list! Thanks!
⚡️🤟🏻⚡️
Nemo is freaking awesome and my last bucket list band I have to see live. You will also appreciate the band Hanabie though different the fan bases are pretty much the same. I suggest We Love Sweets or Pardon Me I Have to Go Now.
Wonderful! Thanks!
The lead singer is all of 4 ft 11 in. So where that voice come from I do not know
😆 Exactly!
I've been told that it's phonetic "Neemo-FEEL-ah" so I think it was my first pronunciation...I kind of threw in the last one as a "funny" LOL!
😁🤘
Another great Japanese band!
Check out Revive OMV next, please!🙏👊🤘
Oh, you really picked a starter!
I guess so LOL!

wow, you are clairvoyant, aren't you - as a matter of fact they are all trained professional musicians))) the most gifted of them all is Murata Tamu - drums, she is a multi-instrumentalist, piano trained, but also she is a fully developed singer too))) I would say - "bull's eye" on your last comment)))
I had a feeling! LOL! All the women in the Japanese bands so far seem to be classically trained, and I'm not surprised!
@@MrsRealistic I love Nemophila, you pronounced it correctly the first time, when you did it phonetically)))) this is my favorite Japanese all-female band of them all. If you look at Gacharic Spin - Mindset, these women....omg)))) PS: you are not that old - ladies are like wine - the older it gets better it tastes))) I grew up around that time too, Pantera was my junior high band)))
@@MrsRealistic I was walking in your shoes)) Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Def Leppard, then GNR, Alice in Chains; Marylin Manson, Rob Zombie and Slip Knot. A7X blew me away while in Uni in the US. Americans may have invented metal but Europeans perfected it, while Japanese chicks revolutionized it))) I have one consolation in life - no matter what I do or intend to do, I know that there is a 100lbs Japanese girl somewhere who can do it better than me))) Boys in Japan are great as well))) Try Dexcore with Brain Washing, Self-Hatred or Red Eye; Jiluka with Ajna, Venom and many more. This is a great band unfortunately one of the guitarists has just left to do her own thing and has an EP coming out soon. You might be surprised to hear that the singer is married with a baby and the drummer is married with two children. Please do their song AMA-TE-RAS or Rise.
Grunge is not my cup of tea ... But there is no denying the fact, that Zen is pure bad to the bone!
Amen to that!

Yesss!
