My dad used to have this car in black since 2005 when I was a baby and he replaced it with an 2007 Sentra when I was around 10 or 11 in 2015 when it had well over 200k miles on it. We loved that car so much but it had some issues unfortunately. Now he has a 2012 Camry with over 220k miles on it. It's reliable but the 2003 TL is definitely the coolest out of the 3 cars.
That’s in great shape for 270k. I’ve got 243k on my 2001. I bought it in 02 with about 20k on it. I haven’t even taken really good care of it and it still runs everyday and I get 25-29 mpg.

Joes Golden Garage I bought it from my father in law who was an Acura dealer. I’ll have to ask him how many Acura batteries they installed! The sun damage on mine is brutal. I need to change my motor mounts too. Front and rear ones are bad. Was it hard to do? How long did it take to change them out? Ive changed mounts on a toyota tercel and it wasnt hard. But this car got a lot more going on under the hood. My main question is did you change them from under the car or above through the hood?

My '99 TL is showing 293,000 miles. Power steering pump just went out. My mechanic says to underside is too rusty to drive safely. Anyone else been told that about a car? Ohio winters can be kind rough on a car,
Probably. Let it idle for a while to see if temp slowly creeps up. This one did that if I sat still in traffic for a while. 90% of the time it ran cool, but there was obviously something hiding behind the scenes that was about to happen.
Man it really was immaculate. And not a damn thing wrong with it. But I tried for weeks to sell it for 3000 then several weeks at 2500. Not one phone cal so I dumped it at $2000. Then it sold that day. Sucked
hey quick question, i have a opportunity to buy a 2003 acura tl for $400 busted trans, you think its work it to fix? how much will of run me? always wanted one of these
Mortis Album great cars for sure. Not sure how much. Tranny rebuild is. It’s very common problem. The rebuilt transmissions that go back in the car have a stronger and beefier parts from what I have heard. Also check for head gasket issues overheating ETC. they’re known to do that too from time to time. This one ran hot if at idle to long
rebuilds are expensive on these transmissions and can run up to 3grand to do it properly with OEM parts and they may not always last either. Best bet is to find a salvaged 2006/2007 accord v6 transmission and put it in. far more reliable than a rebuilt original tranny
Not worth it. I’ve had issues with this car almost everyday. Heat sometimes doesn’t want to work, check engine light keeps coming on, mechanics around me couldn’t fix the car right, transmission sometimes acting up (even though a new transmission was put in. I kept putting money into this car. It had 180k on it. After finding out that I needed more repairs costing between $1 to $2k, I got rid of it. I replaced it with a Chevy.
No shit man. This one shifted pretty good but the carfax showed a rebuild. Not sure if it is longer lasting or not with better parts. But this one shifted good.
Acura are really good cars

I have the same exact car but it doesn’t work because of my timing belt.. tell me how your car holds up in the future
My 2001 has 290K miles (467km) on a second (used) transmission. Car has made it though the family members as a reliable and comfortable car. After 18 years it certainly has set a new standard of how a car should perform.
Doug Hutt I really wish I had kept this car. It was so well maintained and had so many recent repairs. I only sold it for $2000 I believe. It had new tires fresh timing service battery valve cover gaskets. Etc. it was ready to go
I got a 03 TL bought it from an old dude who bought it from an auction for his daughter but she didn’t want it she wanted a newer car so I was like heck I’ll buy it I was 19 at the time I still have it. I paid 2,900$
Great cars
1/4000th of a billion miles. Nice! 👍
Lol. Yes. Now the 2000 f350 is at 650k now I think
@@JoesGoldenGarage I have a 2002 Acura TL with a bad transmission. Putting an 07 Honda Accord tranny in it this spring.
212,000 miles
i miss my acura😞
I have one unfortunately with transmission issues at the moment I'm trying to find a suitable Honda Accord transmission to swap into it😢
My 2000 TL has just under 320,000 miles and is on its second transmission.
I just bought a 2001 TL with navigation for 580$
Sontiago Lobato does it run ?
@@seohanbin5295 like a boss
@@sontiagolobato9811 Does it shift?
how many miles? trans?
Nice ride man!!!
Chris Carrera thanks man! This was a hell of a car for the $$. I had never seen a carfax with so much service history on it. I mean Acura dealer maintenance. Nuts. Oh it would just fly down the freeway. I actually miss this one. I’m going to Acura sale today in Atl and I am looking at another one. An S model.
Joes Golden Garage nice! Try to find a manual if you’re into that !
ok thank you so much
If it's all highway miles it go 300k how's transmission ever changed or orig fluid
Do you just keep it in 5th gear??
FEBRUARY 7-2023-X HONDA AND ACURA TECH BOYCOTT AMERICAN HONDAS LOWER BALL JOINTS SAFETY AND BAD TRANSMISSION S B7WA USE 1-4-IN CITY DRIVING AND 5TH ON HIGHWAY 5 GEAR HAS A WEEK PLAN TRY CLUTCH S 1-4 AND 5 HGWY
aw man makes me miss my first car it was a CL 01 aha that air bag light was on mine too thr day I got it 😂
I'm looking to purchases a 2003 Acura with 155,000 miles on it for 2200.00. Do you think this is a good deal test drove it but plan on testing driving again before getting it but I'm just want to make sure if this would be a good deal or should I pass? Thanks to anyone that respond
I payed 2 for mine and I absolutely love it
Hey quick question so I just recently bought one. The only issue it’s have is that it’s jerk once I put it in reverse.
These transmissions were a weak point in these cars
do you still have your acura? i just bought a 2003 acura tl with 251,000 miles and runs and drives great
Nah I finally sold it for $2000 about 2 years ago
9:28 and Drake used to own an Acura!
Drive a 2018 Acura ILX
My '99 TL is showing 293,000 miles. Power steering pump just went out. My mechanic says to underside is too rusty to drive safely. Anyone else been told that about a car? Ohio winters can be kind rough on a car,
An I don’t know this was a GA car so it had zero rust.
Buying this car for 500 just have to replace the timing belt and water pump 257000 miles do you think it will be a good deal?
Probably. Let it idle for a while to see if temp slowly creeps up. This one did that if I sat still in traffic for a while. 90% of the time it ran cool, but there was obviously something hiding behind the scenes that was about to happen.
Gorgeous! I like the CL coupes a little better tho
DIAMLER I think I sold it for 2000 bucks. Did not make a damn dime. But it was neat to buy and drive for a lil bit.
Joes Golden Garage damn, I would’ve bought it for $2500 or even 3k, it looks immaculate.
Man it really was immaculate. And not a damn thing wrong with it. But I tried for weeks to sell it for 3000 then several weeks at 2500. Not one phone cal so I dumped it at $2000. Then it sold that day. Sucked
This is a Honda Legend in the UK I think ?
No, that would be the Acura RL
Honda inspire
hey quick question, i have a opportunity to buy a 2003 acura tl for $400 busted trans, you think its work it to fix? how much will of run me? always wanted one of these
Mortis Album great cars for sure.
I like you actor D O
original timing belt ??
No on its 3rd
Daaamn, what color is that on the car? Its fucking cool! ...
Man I don’t know but it’s sharp
I love mine with 200000 miles but it shifts pretty good rough and it idles rough
Yup! I got a O2 accord V6 that is the same way
I brought this car brand new in 2002 for 33k
One just like it?
The only saying that wasn't right about those cars was the automatic transmission just had problems I really like the 6speed CL typeS
Yes those are so sweet trying to find the one is a little bit hard though
How bad is the trans?
Is 5k to much for same car w 110,000 miles?
Worth a shot.
Too much.. I got mine for 2,500 around same miles
Nate Castro Channel yeah I ended up passing on it. They wanted 6k after taxes and stuff..
I’m 13 so in a few years my parents are giving me theres i barely can wait!! Just one question is there handsfree calling?
EpicNoodleGaming not on an 03. Sorry you will have to get an adapter
Ok thanks!
@@epicnoodlegaming7499 my friend has a cassette to Bluetooth adapter that has a mic for calls so you could do that.
U used to have the ac and hide the Mac in the engine
great car with shitty transmissions :)(
No shit man. This one shifted pretty good but the carfax showed a rebuild. Not sure if it is longer lasting or not with better parts. But this one shifted good.
