The Old Bono Kingdom was at the area between Wenchi, Nkoranza and Kintampo but the Bono language spread across a very wide area, all the way into parts of present day Ivory Coast. Dormaa had never been part of Bono, neither had Berekum, Sunyani, Kyeraa, Abesim, Tanoso, Wenchi, Nkoranza or even Nsuatre. They all only speak the Bono Twi dialect and nothing else. None of these places were part of the Old Bono Kingdom whose capital was at Bono Manso, near Tano-Obuasi and later moved to Techiman.

Some people left Britain to form the USA, Canada and Australia but they don't call themselves British anymore. If you leave a Kingdom and you form a new Kingdom, you're no more part of the Old Kingdom. Akwamu, Denkyira and Asante, all formed their own powerful Kingdoms. Dormaa came from Akwamu, therefore you can't call Dormaa as part of Bono, period. It's now on its own trying hard to form a fake Kingdom. 💯

And Dormaa was in Bono long before Asante was formed. Once a very powerful state, which Kwaman the only strong state within Asante couldn’t fight. All the states which form Asante were very weak states except Kwaman. Asante became strong because of their numbers not because they were good fighters.
So like all Akans states moved out of Bono, Dormaa moved to Bono.

My question is if Nkrumah and UGCC were fighting for Gold Coast which Asante wasn’t part when did you get independence from the whites in the 20th century? People are not kids here. Go back and study well! Gold Coast was demarcated by the colonists long before independence, it was only Volta Region which wasn’t part of Ghana (Gold Coast) at that time because they were held by the Germans. And after Germany was defeated in World War 3 there was a referendum for some part of the togoland to join Ghana because they were divided by the allies. If you have schools and institutions in Kumasi which dates of establishment outdates independence does that means the asante as a nation established those. Now point of correction: Ashanti was not independent from the British, but that doesn't mean they were part of the Gold Coast. Actually, the Ashanti people were struggling for their own independence and traditional leaders of the Gold Coast canvassed them for support in the fight for decolonization.
During that time, there were 3 territories fighting for liberation: the Gold Coast, Ashanti, and Northern Territories. The fourth territory, British Togoland, was under trusteeship, so their issue was different.

Please don’t confuse gold coast crown colony with Gold Coast ( Gold Coast comprised the crown colony, the ashanti colony, the Northern Territory and the trust British Togo land, which I mentioned earlier was trusted to the British following German defeat in world war 2. These were just four regions like we have sixteen regions today. They were not independent. Take note of the word “colony” it is misleading to say there was not a British sovereignty . When Nkrumah was fighting for independence it was for the entire Gold Coast. That is what I want you to get.
