New duo partners Rafał Blechacz and Bomsori Kim present their first recording with Deutsche Grammophon. The album features French and Polish repertoire, with works by Fauré, Debussy, Chopin and Szymanowski, and showcases the enthralling combination of Blechacz’s structural vision and Kim’s lyrical music-making. The album closes with a work originally written for piano solo: Chopin’s melancholic Nocturne No.20 in C sharp minor, which the pair perform in legendary violinist Nathan Milstein’s transcription for violin and piano.

I like Blechacz's performance very much. In the past, I paid less attention to young violinists, but because of Blechzcz, I got to know this excellent violinist. The combination of the two produces a pleasant chemistry.

Sounds great, as if it was originally composed as piano - violin duet. Much respect to both Nathan Milstein who arranged it and of course to the Performers! Rafał Blechacz knows Chopin's music inside out and from what I read Bomsori Kim's regret was that Chopin did not compose for violin and she couldn't play it. This leads me to believe that as a 'listener' she is also very familiar with Chopin's compositions.

Excellent arrangement and played very beautiful. Bravo to you and Milstein. Though I listened to this two years ago and I liked it. This Nocturne combined with violin came out perfect. I listened to Ich Ruf Zu Dir which is transcribed for piano, I listened it maybe more than ten times, that piece never matches for piano; if the best piano players of today plays that piece, still not good. This Nocturne piano and violin, is excellent. Congratulations to Bomsori an Blekhacz.

C’est la meilleure interprétation que j’ai trouver. Elle est génial mais j’avoue que parfois ça pourrais être plus lent et garder certaines notes plus longtemps pour transmettre encore mieux l’émotion
