ocarina of time link, he lost everything he had worked for... the master sword... his best friend... he even, in the end, lost the princess despite saving her... he could never be turned back into the child he was... majoras mask made that evident... he finally lost the last of who he was... beaten, watching many souls depart... and seeing a world that was decaying before his eyes... this link is the saddest of them all, because he lost everything... and couldnt move on... he was stuck as a stalfos for ages... and never really became the way he was supposed to be.
Reading this gave me chills, and I completely agree. Ocarina of Time being my favorite game really makes me so sad knowing what happened to the "Hero of Time".
Yes, the best Link...and the most tragic. It only makes you like him more, seeing how much he'll endure so other people don't have to. Poor OoT Link D,X
MCS110 Yes, OoT/MM Link becomes Hero’s Shade aka a stalfos, which is a skeleton like warrior. Since he was sent back in time he basically ending up dying not remembered as a hero. We don’t get to see him again until Twilight Princess when he reappears to teach that current Link hidden skills that can only be taught to those with “the hero’s bloodline.” Once that TP Link has learned all he can from stalfos Link, stalfos Link is able to pass on to the spirit world and finally rest. It’s one of the more emotional endings for Link in my opinion.
This was so emotional. Link's facial expressions in particular were amazing, especially when Zelda was blaming herself and when kid!Link was first transported back. I love how adult that expression was on a child's face, showing that Link may be back in the body of a little boy but his experiences have changed him in ways that aren't so easily undone. And when Navi flew away, the way he reached after her was just heartbreaking.
what want to know was why the hell Navi abandoned him. after all they had been through she just fucking leaves him? I hope she got eaten by a fucking frog
@@Dairunt1 i have a couple points that may debunk that theory. If all Fairys were to evaporate upon completion of their purpose then the great fairys would also die after link fully upgraded all of his equipment. Barring the great fairies that exclusively heal Link during "a link to the past" conversely one could assume that those very fairies could be exempt from death after their purpose was fulfilled. While at the same time it could be assumed that the Fairies you bottle could be diffrent from the companion fairies of the Kokiri
Sergio Ortiz most likely, the Hero of Time is resented by the present day population for not saving them when Ganondorf returned, not knowing he was literally in another damn timeline,
@@sergioortiz8784 The time travel in OoT split the Zelda series into three different "timelines". One where Link was defeated and Ganon claimed the entire Triforce (following the games through ALttP, Link's Awakening, the Oracle Games, ALBW, Zelda 1, and Zelda II), a second where Link succeeded and was returned to the past to live out his childhood (Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess), and a third timeline following future Zelda after she'd sent Link home leaving Hyrule without a Hero (Windwaker, PH, and ST). In the second scenario, Zelda sent Link back far enough in time that he was able to warn the Royal Family about Ganondorf's treachery. So, no one would remember Link's heroism because Ganondorf was prevented from sacking Hyrule. Tragically, the only beings that knew what had happened were Link and Navi (who left him right after laying the Master Sword to rest leading to Majora's Mask). This Link passed away sometime later but his spirit couldn't find rest leading to him becoming the Hero's Shade in Twilight Princess. In the third timeline, Zelda and the people of Hyrule knew that Link saved them and made the statue honoring him. Ganon broke the seal that the Sages from Ocarina placed on him and he started destroying the land. The people waited for the Hero of Time to save them.... but no one came... Zelda had sent Link back to his original timeline. Thus, the remaining Hylians and King Daphnes prayed to the goddesses, who bade the people to take refuge at the highest points of Hyrule and flooded the entire land.
So far back that outside of Majorlink's excellent series it's generally believed he went on neither the Zora's Domain or Death mountain adventures. No Goron brother in arms, no fish girl with a crush on him. Just the terror of Termina and obscurity.
God only knows how old he was mentally by the end of Ocarina. It's up to the player to go back and forth to being an adult or a kid and for however many times or however long. Let alone he turns around a few months or weeks or a year later and has to go on an EVEN MORE time bending journey. How many 3 days did Link take to save Termina? Takes us several and we know all the ends and outs after years of playing that game. Imagine Link every 3 days or long er if he figures out the song of inverted time. Helping everyone in Termina. Getting every mask. With nothing but a notebook to write down everyone's schedules.
Princess Brianna to be honest, that is true. knowing he leaves zelda in the future and all of the things he saw when he was an adult, PLUS the majora’s mask shit... jeez man
Daredevil At the end of Majora’s Mask, time never reset for him. I’m pretty certain it became the 4th day, a brand new day. Sure, not many probably knew he saved Termina, but there are some who do such as the two fairies, the imp, mask man, and 4 giants. So Majora’s Mask doesn’t have as sad ending as OOT.
Yeahhhh it sucks enough that at the end of OOT, he loses everything, but then he has to go through Majora's mask which, in addition to being terrifying, was also pretty thankless
A selfless hero that asks for nothing from good deeds is the most respectable quality of a hero. Ocerina of Time Link, in my opinion, is the best one. Even as a shade he knew he had to keep going for the great of good. Spanning 3 freaking games!
Plus there's the whole thing with the Hero's Shade talking about his greatest regrets, that he was never able to pass on his skills to a worthy successor. Twilight Princess Link is stated to be his direct descendant - which makes one question what happened to the Hero of Time when he (properly) grew up that he never got a chance to pass his skills to his children?
This has always been so tragic to me. Zelda was only trying to do the right thing and to give Link the childhood he never got to have, but after everything he had seen and done, Link was no longer a child in any way. Majora's Mask made that all too clear. Link would have been happier if he had gotten to stay in the future he had fought to protect, with a Zelda who knew him and had been his guide throughout it all. Turn back time, and he is just another peasant to her, and she never studied the Sheikah arts to become a warrior in her own right either.
Yeah when he was a child he only saw what every child does in the real world. Happiness all around. But when he traveled seven years into the future into his late teens his childhood was ruined. He saw what the real world was like. And when Zelda took him back he never saw the same world from childhood again. He never saw anything else but he real thing. And what you say is right. He would have been happier not having to relive through his childhood knowing what the real world is like. He would have been happier if he would have stayed with Zelda where he doesn’t relive his childhood
@Armored Astronaut what do you mean other timeline? If link didn't return back to his childhood then there would be no other timeline because the adult timeline is the same as the child timeline since it's just 7 years later from my understanding.
To me, it is tragic this had to happen. He lost the only soul who understood him and was never remembered as a hero in his timeline. If only he refused to give the Ocarina. Zelda sent him to live the seven years, an awful decision.
For sure. Zelda ruined the Hero of Time’s life. He should have stayed in the Adult timeline and declined Zelda’s offer to return. Would have been a much better ending. OOT is the best game of all time, but I really wish they never created the “Child” Timeline and kept the Hero of Time to live out his days with Zelda in the Adult timeline...
Im Thrillz Yes. But he didn’t have to return to his childhood. Zelda was the one that returned him with the Ocarina, not the Master Sword. He could have returned it without being transported through time.
I personally agree that the Zelda of Ocarina of Time is the worst Zelda of all, since she only made bad decisions, and the worst of all was to completely ruin Link's life and her future with him. It was a very selfish decision on his part not letting him choose what Link wanted.
@@bareq99 but overall the hero of time just doesn’t deserve this kind of ending… I cry basically every single time whenever I re-play OOT through, especially when I think about what happened to him afterwards. This link is the greatest in my opinion but his story is way too…😞😞
Late comment, hope you're still doing fine after 7 years 🤣 But at first watching this I thought he didn't wanna be sent back to his OG Time line when he knelt down to Zelda, but now I feel like he was swearing loyalty no matter where or when he is.
Thank you everyone!! You all continue to keep me doing what I love! Please checkout the official Song Here: soundcloud.com/brock-hewitt/a-timeless-lullaby
thank you to both you and your talented friend! don't ever stop, these beautiful videos become so much more than just pictures and sounds every time you make one.
I don't want to direct the artists ideas or anything... but there has always been one part of the Zelda series that I've always wanted to see, but never got. Since you seem to enjoy thinking of "what if" scenarios... maybe you could give me some closure with the ending of Twilight Princess... with Midna... I bet that would make for a fantastic video, just a thought :P Midna and her decision still haunts me to this day :'( Keep up the good work man!
This is an important moment for the franchise,if not the most. Right there,I realised that this wasn´t only a videogame where you defeat the evil, and the princess goes with you to the kindgdom to be happy. Here I realised that everything I've done until this moment had consequences. And those consequences will affect Link,Zelda and all Hyrule. The music, the drama,Link's tear...Everything is perfect here
The most tragic Link them all...lost everything he has...his chilhood, adult timeline, no ones remember him as a hero in his timeline, even Navi has to leave Link...The Hero of Time will always be The True Hero who Saved Hyrule, the thankless one, the forgetten hero, the fierce deity and Finally the Hero's Shade.. Thank you Oot/MM Link
You literally took my heart. All of my containers and pieces. Took them, then crushed them into dust that then swirled into a storm of heart break, nostalgia, and sadness. My soul is broken
Wow. What a way to recreate the Ocarina of Time ending. I'll admit I didn't feel too sad playing the game initially due to not spending lots of time with Zelda. I still felt the connection though. However, this animation successfully squeezes so much emotion that it could be implied that in this version, they have spent a lot of time together. You've achieved this heart sinking mood by applying more emotional reactions from the two main characters especially Link and through that amazingly somber version of Zelda's Lullaby. It sounds like something out of an ending from a Studio Ghibli film.
Yeah context alone isn't enough. That's why these hit so much harder, you now see what Link and Zelda feel in their last moments here together. You see how Link feels after he essentially lost everything. His pain then becomes your pain, that's why this is so beautiful.
Through Sheik, I felt very connected to Zelda. I played back when the game was first released so I had no spoilers or anything but I just knew that Sheik was Zelda. I was bawling at the end. 😭
God, this broke my heart. Link lost everything by becoming the Hero of Time. And in TP, we see that nobody remembers him in the Child Timeline because everything he did technically never happened.
You don't truly realize how much link lost until you watch this, link lost everything, he lost zelda, navi, nobody even knows who he is anymore he's just a boy to everyone else now...
With all that Link has done to her, Zelda has to repay him somehow. She thought of several things. A sword? Tons of gold and gems? Rupees? Knowing him he wouldn't be very pleased, but he'll accept it. But Zelda thought that those wasn't enough for all that he has gone through. She then thought back. She knew that he was asleep for seven years. Then it hit her. Maybe she could send him back in time! He should regain his lost time, to be what he is supposed to be. He should regain his lost childhood. She thought that sending him back was the best choice. She thought that sending him back to his time would help him. She didn't know that sending him back is one of the worst things she could do to him
Created the timeline split. She left Hyrule without a hero so when Ganon eventually broke out their only resort was the flooding/sealing of Hyrule. Link got to live/grow a natural lifespan but his major heroic deeds were erased. The royal family honored him for alerting them of Ganandorf's plans but no one else knew about it so he lived/died a simple life of obscurity. His regrets turned him into the Hero's Shade, not being able to rest until he passed on his knowledge to his descendant Twilight Link.
Didn't fully hit me until Navy deserted him as well, given his kokiri identity was neither something he could go back to. Link is portrayed so stoically throughout OoT's ending, that I guess many of us always wondered what was really going on inside him and if was the same we all felt: total loss. You nailed it pretty well stateside. Zelda's hands and tears still could use some work though, so they don't get distracting.
Ya know; just once, I’d like to see Link actually get the girl. Even if it’s just a kiss or even just a mere hug! All the sacrifices Link has made for the woman, be it Zelda, Midna, Ruto, heck even Nabooru...it always ends with him being sent away or the woman herself going away. It never truly feels like the happy ending it should be.
Kevin Phoenix a Link to the Past, it's very possible. It's implied in Skyward Sword. It's implied in Breath of the Wild. Judging by Wind Waker and their squeals, they might get together. They MIGHT get together in Zelda 2?... but it's like, there's an age difference of 300...
Wow, this is more emotional than the original ending, it tugs my heartstrings that Link loved Princess Zelda and well being sent back in time including Navi leaving Link which Link showing some expression makes it more sad... nice remake!
Link truly did love Princess Zelda. Goodbyes always are a pain in the neck when the goodbye is like that!😭 I think the bright side of this... Is the fact that Link was meant to grow up with Princess Zelda from Childhood! Imagine a life like this, growing up together promising each other until they're fully grown. Then Marrying, and continuing the Bloodline by having Children. This is a Blessing.
@@chaselanglands6757 zelda didn't ruin his life. They both forged a plan against Ganondorf that failed. Zelda gave him his childhood and life back and if it wasn't for the direct sequels of MM or TP, the ending of Oot was pure and perfect for Oot Link.
@@hildagocrazyfreak If that is what you think, then I pity your naivete. In TP, the Hero's Shade (who is OoT Link) said he died filled with regrets. It implies that while on the outside he may have seemed fine, everything about him was ripped away from him slowly until he became a shadow of his former self. So, while it may have been unintentional, Zelda's actions DID practically ruin his life.
@@chaselanglands6757 what I am saying is that when Oot was made they didn't think about the impact the sequals MM or TP had on Oot Link. When Zelda gave Link his childhood back it was for him to regain his childhood and to live in peace. That was the whole ending of Oot. But because of the sequals of Ww, TP and Mm we now know it had major consequences for the timeline and negative impact on Oot Link's life. It's just that you can't blame someone for ruining your whole life. Zelda didn't ruin Oot Link's life. Sure she had a major impact in his life, but he is the one who regretted his own life because he wasn't recognized as the hero of Hyrule and couldn't live with it. Probably because he wanted to be with adult Oot Zelda though. Okay maybe she did ruin his life!
@Fox and Wolf Friend I don't think Zelda and Link loved each other on this game, it's more like they're friends and try to protect each other in a "our destiny is to do this together" way. He doesn't hate her either, I think is understandable the way she wanted to do things was how she thought as a kid and she indeed regrets that, and Link pretty much can't blame her completely since he also did his part so the way he lost his own childhood was no one's fault
Jessie Jay Yes it's a great ending to a great game. I really enjoyed the battles with Ganon & Ganondorf. But when *spoiler alert* Midna broke the mirror of twilight... that moment was so sad!!
Damn I know a lot of people have said it but the hero of time Link really got screwed no matter what timeline you go through. Hell even the end of Twilight princes and majoras mask ended on a happy note. And yeah the original ending had a happy tone to it but if you think about what just happened you realize how bad he got it.
im a huge zelda fan and the ending of Ocarina of Time did make me cry but you made the ending even more sad thanks now im sad and have tears running down my face

okay you know what I am so sorry for my language but yOU TO SIGN THE FUCK UP FOR THE CUTSCENE DEPARTMENT AT NINTENDO I MEAN... THE ANIMATION IS SO SMOOTH AND PROFESSIONALLY MADE AND THE MUSIC IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND HEARTFELT LIKE THIS IS A MASTERPIECE WE SHOULD MAKE A LOUVRE MUSEUM FOR ZELDA FANS AND THIS WOULD BE IN THE MAIN HALL, ON AN INFINITE LOOP ON A HUGE SCREEN WELL DONE, JUST WELL DONE *stands up, applauds, wipes a lil tear*
This animation is great but jesus christ it ain't no masterpiece. The animation is stilted/stiff sometimes and the lighting is all over the place. Calm down ffs
From one Zelda fan to another, this video was amazing! You know, and who cares about all the spelling mistakes, this, as I'm sure, took a lot of work to do. Everybody makes mistakes and I'm constantly making spelling errors in my videos :) But anyways, great work man, keep it up!
MajorLink CAN YOU PLEASE DO THIS FOR MIDNAS FAREWELL!!! PLEASE!!! IF THIS MADE ME CRY THEN MIDNAS FAREWELL WOULD MAKE ME FREAKING BAWL MY EYES OUT!!! THANK YOU MAJORLINK YOU'RE AWESOME!!!
Murph Dat Gaming my mind is just screaming, just shut up and kiss!!! After all the crap Link went through he at least deserves one sign of gratitude and no, sending him back in time does not seem to be an act of gratitude to me. Uh I'm feeling like crying again!!! T.T
I can't believe I just found this. And my feels and nostalgia goggles must be on.. This was an amazing recreation to the end of Ocarina of time. And that version of Zelda's Lullaby, just beautiful. The way they both didn't truly say goodbye and just Link shaking his head trying to tell her that it wasn't just her fault alone. It was him as well. She was only doing what she knew to save Hyrule of course she didn't know Link would lose time from drawing the Master Sword in the temple. But their goodbye wasn't meant to be forever as when he comes back he goes to see her again right after.Though after awhile he was to say one more goodbye when he leaves to Termina in search of Navi.
It just proves how much Zelda is amazing: she gave Link one of the most precious gifts: time and a new chance to be happy and to save Hyrule from Ganondorf's reign. She gave him back the seven years stolen to him... The end of OoT was beautiful and sad and I was moved already. But you crushed my heart. The next one I hear saying "Zelda is weak, she just keeps to be kidnapped", I'll punch him in the face. X)
I always love your videos. They are always so powerful, the way they are composed. So touching, it would make a Goron cry. But I've always pitied link, a boy in the body of a man, forced to mature in a day. What takes most 7 years to do. fighting though his fears, his weakness. All for him to say goodbye, in the end. He cried, not because he is weak. But because he's been strong for just too long. Perhaps, pity. is not the right word. Adored, admired. inspired by, Ain't that what hero's are suppose to be? Someone who does what is right when the chips are down, and inspires though their legends.
This is so beautiful, oh my god. Brings me back to old memories. The music is absolutely stunning, I want to buy it somewhere if I can. And this animation is just... Fantastic. Such beautiful work in one place is hard to adjust to.
This was the first Zelda video I watched of you years ago before I got an account. You captured the tragedy of the separation between Link and Zelda at the end of Ocarina of Time. Zelda's guilt over causing the invasion of Ganondorf and Link's horror as he figures out her intention match the dialogue perfectly. The scene where Link kneels to Zelda like a knight shows how, despite being a child, he already assumed the role of an adult because of his adventures. The separation is more tragic as both of them cry. Zelda doesn't want Link to lose his childhood and be forced into the role of an adult. And while Link would like to recover his childhood, he already has the maturity of an adult. He will become a stranger in a familiar land. The way Link tries to smile through the tears but then looks desperate to be with Zelda stings a lot. The return of child Link shows how the experience of the game affected him. He saw so much as an adult that he won't fit in as a child anymore. Navi's departure destroys what little innocence Link had. I love the scene where Link senses adult Zelda behind him and then he turns into an adult as he turns around. Though he is still a child, the experiences made Link an adult mentally due to being a hero fighting alone against evil. The return to Zelda's castle is a bittersweet thing. Link gets to enjoy his childhood, but he lost Navi and he has to figure out his place in the world.
Then Ganondorf break out his prison and started the chaos again and the hero of time is never returned tell the next hero born known at the hero of the wind. Love you guys work
This video makes me cry every time I watch it. Many people think of how Link being sent back was more of a curse to him rather than a gift, due to the Hero shade in Twilight Princess . However they always overlook an even greater tragedy that is future Zelda being all alone in a destroyed Hyrule after Link defeated Ganon. She remained behind to punish herself for what she believed to be her fault in Hyrule's destruction. While Link's accomplishments as the Hero of Time were not to be remembered in his new timeline, Zelda's sacrifice to me is far more tragic than Link's loss of a title. I always thought this ending was just supposed to be Zelda sending him back so he can change the future, but in this video she says, "Good bye..." and not she'll see him again or something. This gets me thinking that Ocarina of Time runs on multiverse theory which means no matter what changes happen to the past wont effect her future, but the new one. Zelda sent Link away knowing that she would forever be alone in a world without her hero and without a future of happiness.
The first time I watched this, I was in my first period high school class five minutes before it started; I started bawling. The music is gorgeous, and I felt so bad for both Link and Zelda. All in all, one of the best videos ever made!
I always wonder why she sent him back because she doesn't want to and neither does link and I also wonder why navi left and if link found her at the end of majoras mask
No, he had Ganondorf inside the Master Sword, it has to go back on the pedestal to seal Ganondorf and his minions for good. Which, didn't turn out so well in Wind Waker.
When a fairy in Zelda fufils its purpose, it vanishes. Navi was going to vanish because her purpose of helping Link was fufilled, and didn't want Link to see that, so she ran away. (That's what I think anyway.)
+Creeperdocter That's what I always thought too. Navi never annoyed me in the game, despite what people say about her. She was just fulfilling her purpose. If you think about her this way, she is a really selfless character, knowing THE WHOLE TIME that once it's over she'll vanish, but keeping it to herself so Link could focus on the task at hand. I liked the way you put it, it's cool to see a comment that says something other than how annoying she is, lol
AWESOME!!! I really love your work, you do it super great. Don't stop please , I want to see more of your job. I LOVE IT!!! Continue making videos and the Triforce is with you my friend XD
This just...It hurts SO MUCH... OoT Link really had a thankless quest...and then it didn't get much better with the whole Majora's Mask thing, which was ALSO outside of his (younger self's) Hyrule. Poor guy. :'(
Why can't they make Link and Zelda's relationship like this in the games? I think everyone wants it honestly. And everyone would REALLY enjoy a remade OoT that looked like this too!
Both in this scene and in the original you really get a sense that Zelda had developed feelings for Link that went beyond friendship but had to let him go, even if it meant breaking her own heart.
I discovered your work recently and I am a big fan. You are very talented. You are always able to sublimate some sequences that were explored in some games by increasing the emotional commitment of the viewers. I will follow all your future works. Thanks for helping us to relive some of the best moments of our gamers' life. Ocarina of time, what a masterpiece!
This Link went through sooo much that he didnt get the credit he deserved for what he's done for Hyrule and the hardships he went through to save the world from Ganondorf and most sadly enough, his acts didnt exist in the timeline. He couldnt return back to the Kokiri Forest because he lost a dearly friend of his (Navi), which he always had her beside him on his quest, went on another bumpy adventure (Majoras Mask) to look for her but didnt seem to succeed, as a child he was still an adult inside him and couldnt live back to his childhood because of the reality he saw as a innocent kid and cant go back to its formal time then died as a loney person and a heartbroken hero, where he couldnt choose to live happily and forget his past and regrets and then turned into a Stalfos as The Hero's Shade Hero of time IS the best Link of all and ALWAYS WILL BE. Thank u MajorLink for recreating this powerful scene with ur dedicated editing skills!!!

Ocarina of Time was my first game I ever played, so this really hit home. Nice HD remake of the old cutscene! Looks beautiful. No complaints. I loved the feeling Link showed when he went back in time, though he couldn't stay in the adult timeline like he wanted to, his emotions showed really well. Now that he's back, he goes to Zelda to fulfill his promise of warding off Ganon and then Majoras mask happens :T. But anyway, this was great, as always. Love your animations!!!

he could never be turned back into the child he was...
majoras mask made that evident...
he finally lost the last of who he was...
beaten, watching many souls depart... and seeing a world that was decaying before his eyes...

And basically, after the events of Majora's Mask, he learned to let go. Navi is gone, and he came to terms with that.

@@platy4700 The Stalos from Twilight Princess says something else
i think what tears me up more is knowing that he still has all those memories and had to go back to being young after going through all of that.
I have come to the conclusion that THIS Link is the most damaged out of all...
Yeahhhh
it sucks enough that at the end of OOT, he loses everything, but then he has to go through Majora's mask
which, in addition to being terrifying, was also pretty thankless
Its confirmed in Majora's Mask that Link and Zelda spend much time together and grew close before Link was sent to Termina.
He actually trained hyrules soldiers and died with someone who resembled zelda but was never confirmed
@Armored Astronaut or he could have made a time paradox with the triforce
Ryan he had to go back and return the master sword to seal ganon
Im Thrillz Yes. But he didn’t have to return to his childhood. Zelda was the one that returned him with the Ocarina, not the Master Sword. He could have returned it without being transported through time.
I personally agree that the Zelda of Ocarina of Time is the worst Zelda of all, since she only made bad decisions, and the worst of all was to completely ruin Link's life and her future with him. It was a very selfish decision on his part not letting him choose what Link wanted.
I think Zelda meant well, but she screwed him over tbh...
"We will always remember you as the 'hero who saved Hyrule"
I'm calling bullshit on that
No, it's true. But only in her timeline.
Yeah, who is this "we"? SHE will remember him in HER timeline, but Link will end up as the most traumatized, lonely 10 year old in video game history.
Also in a way.. We is referring to her timeline and the people she will spread his story to
So that's better than nothing I guess?
@@bareq99 but overall the hero of time just doesn’t deserve this kind of ending… I cry basically every single time whenever I re-play OOT through, especially when I think about what happened to him afterwards. This link is the greatest in my opinion but his story is way too…😞😞

I don't want to direct the artists ideas or anything... but there has always been one part of the Zelda series that I've always wanted to see, but never got. This is an important moment for the franchise,if not the most.
Right there,I realised that this wasn´t only a videogame where you defeat the evil, and the princess goes with you to the kindgdom to be happy. Thank you Oot/MM Link
You literally took my heart. All of my containers and pieces. Took them, then crushed them into dust that then swirled into a storm of heart break, nostalgia, and sadness. My soul is broken
Ian Laih and 4 bottled fairies
I very much agree.
Lost his home, father figure and forest friends
Holy- this comment was 4 years ago
@@soulsilver8127 time is a joke with us
With all that Link has done to her, Zelda has to repay him somehow.
Wow you guys are deep
burgerkinghorn + majoras mask is not what I call a peacefull and normal childhood
naryle it’s actually the worst thing possible to do to him :(
naryle bb
Didn't fully hit me until Navy deserted him as well, given his kokiri identity was neither something he could go back to. Link is portrayed so stoically throughout OoT's ending, that I guess many of us always wondered what was really going on inside him and if was the same we all felt: total loss. You nailed it pretty well stateside. Zelda's hands and tears still could use some work though, so they don't get distracting.
And the tears were a bit... badly edited.
Try Zelda II
Spirit Tracks has the shippiest ending for the two that I've seen.
The ending of Skyward Sword heavily implies that Link and Zelda become a couple.
Botw Link basically got Zelda since she confessed her love towards them plus they had a close relationship
But....he was happier there
My poor heart is shattered
Wow, this is more emotional than the original ending, it tugs my heartstrings that Link loved Princess Zelda and well being sent back in time including Navi leaving Link which Link showing some expression makes it more sad... nice remake!

Link truly did love Princess Zelda. Goodbyes always are a pain in the neck when the

I think the bright side of this... Is the fact that Link was meant to grow up with Princess Zelda
from Childhood! Imagine a life like this, growing up together promising each other until they're
fully grown. Then Marrying, and continuing the Bloodline by having Children. This is a Blessing.
Really? Marrying the woman who practically ruined his life for nothing?
@Fox and Wolf Friend
I don't think Zelda and Link loved each other on this game, it's more like they're friends and try to protect each other in a "our destiny is to do this together" way. He doesn't hate her either, I think is understandable the way she wanted to do things was how she thought as a kid and she indeed regrets that, and Link pretty much can't blame her completely since he also did his part so the way he lost his own childhood was no one's fault

Link: "my supposed to be what"
Your comment saved me! I was about to fall in the caverns of depression and kill myself (of course not) now I can leave laughing lol

Anytime, folks!
Love you guys work
Nintendo could learn how to wrap up a Zelda adventure from you
This video makes me cry every time I watch it.
Yes. In this sense, Link and Zelda's tragedy is like Future Trunks' living hell in DBZ. There are differences, of course, but they're quite similar.
I'M NOT CRYING! I'M NOT! I'M SWEATING THROUGH MY EYES!
this was emotional... i bet this time Link would stay in the future with Zelda, i would like that. imagine that?? wow!!
Since Link was travelling in time from child to adult, it was like "an adult body with the spirit of a child". That's why he had to go back in time.
I liked the way you put it, it's cool to see a comment that says something other than how annoying she is, lol

ngl, when I got to this part in the game, I cried. seeing this with more facial expressions and with music brought me back to my first playthrough
This just...It hurts SO MUCH...
OoT Link really had a thankless quest...and then it didn't get much better with the whole Majora's Mask thing, which was ALSO outside of his (younger self's) Hyrule. Poor guy. :'(
More videos from Ocarina of Time, please!
Navi damn, where have you go....
The friend who was with me all along...
That's kinda depressing and beautiful
The part where they started crying killed me dude... Good job.
I love this video so much !!!
This Link went through sooo much that he didnt get the credit he deserved for what he's done for Hyrule and the hardships he went through to save the world from Ganondorf and most sadly enough, his acts didnt exist in the timeline. He couldnt return back to the Kokiri Forest because he lost a dearly friend of his (Navi), which he always had her beside him on his quest, went on another bumpy adventure (Majoras Mask) to look for her but didnt seem to succeed, as a child he was still an adult inside him and couldnt live back to his childhood because of the reality he saw as a innocent kid and cant go back to its formal time then died as a loney person and a heartbroken hero, where he couldnt choose to live happily and forget his past and regrets and then turned into a Stalfos as The Hero's Shade
Hero of time IS the best Link of all and ALWAYS WILL BE.
Thank u MajorLink for recreating this powerful scene with ur dedicated editing skills!!!
I´m someone who does not cry often, barely to say the least.... but this, and the the triology you made.. I´m sobbing like crazy! The emotion in your videos is so incrdible, I can´t help but cry. Thank you for making this masterpiece!!
Noooooo Link!!!!! T.T ugh my feels, this is just too heart breaking! I've always wanted Link and Zelda to stay together there... well I guess we have fanfics for that. Damn this was too beautiful and it's still is beautiful! Thank you for such a heartbreaking piece, I really love it! 😍😍😍😍😍
Time to cry myself to sleep tonight.

I will always...love...this timeless story, and the faded memories I have buried in the background behind it and around the edges.♡
How to cry
Step one: watch this video
Ocarina of Time was my first game I ever played, so this really hit home. Nice HD remake of the old cutscene! Looks beautiful. No complaints. I loved the feeling Link showed when he went back in time, though he couldn't stay in the adult timeline like he wanted to, his emotions showed really well. Now that he's back, he goes to Zelda to fulfill his promise of warding off Ganon and then Majoras mask happens :T. But anyway, this was great, as always. Love your animations!!!
zulda cried FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER
major link you are the best why your animations are super realistic and very beautiful cry with this story hopefully and reach many sub why you deserve it for your effort and dedication thanksThank you really thank you for giving us this thank you very much you are the best: D
Thank you so much! I enjoyed it very well because of your animation skills and because I love ocarina of time! And you gave it even more emotions! Thank you!
That moment when you realize that Zelda just made Hero of Time suffer eternally until his incarnation passed down his legacy
She pretty much ruined his life. If young Link had ignored Zelda, Ganondorf never would've won.
The end part where Zelda was standing there and he turned around and she was gone. My poor little heart.
wow... this is sad... keep the videos up man!! you're getting better by the video
It's funny how this game still makes me cry after I finally beat it years ago, I can't even began to explain how much I love this game, how many times I played it through and beat it. Thanks for this, I really needed this right now, I may be bawling like a baby but I see the beauty again.
Me: *sees tittle* hey a Zelda animation! I bet it’s a Zelink one and maybe it’ll be one that doesn’t make me cry and want to rip my heart out! :D
*** five minutes and twenty seconds later***
Me: God dammit
Who else applauded when the video ends?
I tried to find more like it 😂
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
that was so freaking beautiful man you did such a good job with this I love when I find awesome vids like this in my recommendation box lmao
In the manga, when Zelda returned him back to him time, the last words she said was, "I love you, Link."
I thought that was Navi?
😭😭😭😭😭
That was Navi, not Princess Zelda.
@@LITTLE1994 no that is in the manga, it’s right as she sends him back in time to be a child.
@@LITTLE1994 I mean I could wrong but I’m pretty sure that was Zelda cause that was right when she sent him away.
I didn't realize that the bow in "Twilight's Shadow" was a call-back to this! Simply amazing!
Each of your video is so tender. I love your work, they are so full of feelings that even without speaking or just with small sentences the characters come to life. Amazing, really amazing!
UGH I CRIED
Cold Parker // Diamond Holder
We all did ;-;
Cold Parker // Diamond Holder
same!!!
it almost looks like Link is proposing to Zelda!
I could just imagine Link saying as he was being sent back: "I'll find you Zelda."
Gosh dangit man! I dont even like Ocarina of Time that much with it being so cliche. And yet you freaking stab my heart with dem feels. Keep on doing this stuff man. its awsome
I have never cried like this before; not even in an Academy Award Winning showstopper. What an amazing job you have done with the matters of the heart. Thank you for creating and sharing.
