I really enjoy your channel because of your passion for the Xiegu products, I find them to be incredible products for what they are, and the price points are generally right where my wallet likes to shop. Well done sir...
I guess it all depends on whether you want something which is guaranteed to work out of the box, or something which you know will not deliver what it promises - even after several FW updates. And as sure as eggs are eggs, not everything will get fixed before the X6300 is launched. Just my opinion.
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones Don't need the tuner, but the addition of 2m, 70cm, digital control including wirelessly, and better filtering is worth that $250-$500. I've never had my ic-705 overheat, but it is constant struggle with x6100.
I have the IC7300 as a base. Just purchased the X6200 for mobile/qrp. Seems to be more rugged than the 703 and I'd use my HT's for 2m/70cm anyway... If the 703 had a tuner/USB C charging it would have been more appealing for the price IMO.
The issue is that I’m not sure the improvement over the x6100 justifies a $200 price increase. Especially because there are some amazing radios in that price range such as the FT-710 or the IC-7300. (I know they aren’t the same in portability but it should be noted)
I had to return mine as it took the first software update but “got bricked” on the second update. While I used it tho I noticed the power doesn’t come on straight away it slowly builds up as you are keying. So if you were sending cq cq cq the first cq might peak at 4w the second at 5-6 and the last 6-7 also the speaker was quite crackly at times but this came and went so probably software and not the actual speaker.
Oh, you don't find anything to improve in the 705? What about that stupid having to push the ptt for a swr run? In the 6200 there are tons of things to improve; mine does, so far, not even connnect to the wlan router. Many thanks for your informative video!!!

Hi many thanks
Radiooddity has them in stock for £637.78, which seems a far more sensible price than £799.
Plus VAT in UK
Plus VAT/TAX
Radioodity x6200's come straight from China... So returns maybe a little more tricky than buying from a UK shop.

Its everyones opinion
There are tradeoffs everywhere in life. Same with the 705 vs the 6200. I'm counting on you getting a 6200 and giving it a thorough review.
It's in the post .
No question, the IC705 over the x6100/x6200.
Poud for pound the x6100 but for £1400 ofcourse the 705 is best but you will miss the tuner and CW decode plus antenna analyzer.

Probably easier to wideband the X6200 as well if you are into to that. Martin Lynch said it causes issues on the 705 when widebanded.
Thanks for the tip.
Sometimes one might worry if it is still a hobby or if it would be better to buy a starlink terminal right away.
Fun times

Hi good info I need to test mine.

No prob we have lots to learn .
The IC705 has also VHF and UHF
Yes it's a big plus
The premise is weak in the us. The 705 can be had for 1k. The x6200 listed at 800.
Where are you seeing a new 705 for $1000? They're $1350
@@dwayne5530 My mistake. Thanks for correcting it. It's the IC-7300 for $1k. Now I feel better for the advance purchase of the X6200. Can't wait!
No way you can get 705 for 1k
