- We've been building this House Truck for more than 3 years. And this is our first night on the road! This house truck is like nothing else available at the moment. A tiny house built on a 4x4 truck.
We hit our FIRE number and we pulled the pin!
Our plan is to take this thing everywhere and show our girls this spectacular country.
Please give us a like and subscribe to follow our journey!
Great truck - but the kids are the stars of the show
The whole reason we’re choosing this life is for the kids 😊
0:35 all that solar on the roof is a great idea. I have 14' van (!) with 1.2kW of solar and 3 X 300aH Lithiums - but I do live and work on the road.
Lots of solar and batteries makes all the difference! We run 4.3kw of solar and a 15kwh battery setup. Runs everything a house needs comfortably
@@HouseTruckLife 15KW of battery? 15,00 Watts of battery? Watts = Volts x Amps. So, you have 1,250Ah of battery? Good choice.
@@stuartkcalvin 15 kilowatt HOURS of battery storage. We run a 48v system, so that’s 15000 / 48v = 312AH at 48v or the equivalent of 1250AH at 12v
Great video! I want to do the same and drive to the artic circle and thruough Alaska. I will be solo but I can only imagine the fun with a family.
That would be amazing! We’re hoping to ship the truck from Oz to Indonesia and then overland north one day
Thanks for posting your link in the nomad group! We are looking at the big lap in a few years time when our girls are older and self sufficient (they are 15 and 18 years now and have travelled with us since they were 4 and 5 months old) so really keen to follow your adventures. We have travelled extensively but only for 2-3 months at a time so far due to life constraints. Big plans to change those constraints now though. Good luck with your trip, looking forward to following you and getting some tips.
That's fantastic :) The start of our trip sure has been an eye opener to what is possible in life. Hope to see you guys on the road soon!
Followed your link in the Aussie Fire group. Congratulations! The truck looks fantastic. Looking forward to following along your Big Lap.
Kids and water parks! I’m sure a sunny April day in Chinchilla was still mid-twenties. Too cold for me but perfectly fine for little ones.
Thank you! It was a bit chilly brrr but the kids excitement could not be tamed :)
Any Owner Operators available for hauling loads
Where did you start your holiday from
Near Brisbane, headed up central Queensland because we wanted to get to the Top End and Kimberly for winter
