Happy New Year everyone and thanks for joining us for these Alaskan Fall adventures :) What a 2019 it has been but the series is not quiet over yet! More adventures to come :)
I lived in Alaska for 7 years. This is an excellent video. It reminded me of those special days when I lived in Denali and Fairbanks and Anchorage. Well done and thank you for helping spark the memories. 🥲
WOW !!!!! THE NORTHERN LITES !!! I've never seen them filmed that way ,with people in comparison , They are huge !! I had no idea , AND the clips from space WOW ! thanks, IT completely changed my experience of what they look like . STUNNING !
Well, now I have a new benchmark for the BEST video of the northern lights I've ever seen. Astounding!! And thanks for the great explanation of what causes them. You even found a clip of them from a satellite, which just demonstrates why you consistently receive well-deserved rave reviews. Thank you!! I'm interested in seeing where these wonderful productions will take you in your future career.
Torn between envy and amazement. You are a LOVELY, well planned & intelligent couple. Every minute of these videos is fun! No wonder I'm binge watching them. May you travel again - and share with us - soon
Nice job guys! You are masters at capturing the Lights. They were beautiful and we are so glad you got to see them for yourselves and share them with all of us. Awesome video, once again.
What a wonderful video (the entire series is awesome!). Can't wait to explore Alaska one day in our RV. Didn't get to it before the kiddos came along but your videos have inspired my wife and I to put Alaska right at the top of our future adventure bucket list!
This video ranks in the upper stratosphere of 1 out of 50,000 youtube videos. THE BEST. In time, this may very well become THE MOST WATCHED youtube video during the entire history of youtube. I'm in Reno, NV. I've "Liked" this video & saved it to my "FAVORITE" list & I've been a "Subscriber" for well over a year. YES, I've visited Battle Born Batteries Manufacturing facilities in nearby Sparks, NV.
It's been a great series, we were in Alaska in June for a cruise and land tour and this brought back a lot of memories, thank you so much and safe travels returning home. I saw that you were in Tampa yesterday which is about 1 hour from our home in FLA. God bless and keep up the great work, luv you kids.
My god such beauty. Words can’t describe this. I have 3 more years u til I’m done with my masters and I hit the road. Alaska will be one of the first places I visit. Although I’ll be working and stopping every 2-3 months to work but I cannot wait to see these things.
I have been waiting for another post on your travels. I have always wanted to travel in Alaska. We are going to do it for sure when we retire. Thanks for sharing your travels.
Wow! just stunning. Thank you for taking this on this incredible journey! We love each and every Episode and so appreciate all the immense time, work and love that has gone into creating each one. Looking forward to the next one! 🙌❤️
Thank you for this series. For someone like me who may never get to travel to this area it has been a wonderful journey! Your production and video work is excellent!
This makes me want to get up there so bad! Definitely on our bucket list, but glad we have the ability to watch your videos and get a little taste of it. :) Thanks so much for sharing guys, hope you have an amazing New Year! - Shane
Yet again a fantastic VLOG and Beautifully presented .,and again a good short and sweet science presentation and my daughter listened to it fully immersed. Thank you so much 😊.👌👏
What a fantastic day trip! That ice museum looked like fun! I will have to remember to bring gloves and do the hot springs AFTER (as you suggested). lol Thanks for sharing your adventures! :-) HaPpY NeW YeAr!!!
I can't tell you how much that my wife and i enjoyed your journey to Alaska. Today is the 11th of January and I seen where you were going to be at the Tampa RV show today. I hate that we missed your class on purchasing an RV. We are hoping to purchase an RV in the next year and start our retirement journey. I was wondering if you were going to produce some kind of step by step , stop by stop history of your trip with dates that you were there along with costs of excursions that you experienced and a day by day map of your trip. I found myself longing for the kind of trip that you two experienced. Thank you so much for sharing your adventure with us. You two are awesome!
WOW Caitlin and Tom, your Alaska Series has been fantastic, we have very much been enjoying it. Then at the end of this video you stay at the Deadman Lake Campground. Angie and I are headed there to be Camphosts from May 17- July 11. They didn't mention to us we would have to take care of canoes and life vests when we had our phone interview for the position a few months ago. It was really neat to see where we will be spending 8 weeks in a couple months. Thanks so much for everything you do!!! Safe Travels and hopefully someday our paths will cross. Sean & Angie Marshall
Following, however vicariously, your incredible "Go North" adventures has been a thrill; both from scenic AND educational POVs. Thanks again tor taking us along, and also in no small way taking the time to show how very much we share in your magnificent northern State, and our stunning Territory. Cheers from here for a Happiest of New Years. AND more adventures to come!!
Hello, this trip you are making is absolutely « magnifique » !!! In other words, we can’t wait to go and visit ALASKA! Thanks for the great production and the views, we are really happy we found you and will keep following you! All the best on the way back. Safe drive :-) Followers from Montreal, Canada. Remi.
Amazing, thank you for all your hard work in putting this episode together. It is so well done! How fortunate to be able to see and document the northern lights. Happy New Year to you too.
9:49 - yup I spotted a Lynx too, on the Inuvik-Tuk highway in June 2019. I meowed at it to keep it's attention so I could shoot it, with my Nikon camera. First time ever to see a Lynx in the wild.
My goodness, Tom and Cait, you've done a GREAT job of bringing the wonderful sights of Alaska to us, over the past few videos. I've wondered how the Lance camper and all the mods you did prior to the trip have been holding up; any problems or issues? What would you change? Your film work, post-production and narration is spot-on, guys; LOVE IT! Y'all Be Safe on the trip home!
Thank you for this series you two. What an amazing trip! In all of them, This episode is the one that inspires me the most. With the realization that Fairbanks would be the best place to basecamp and explore for the first trip. Maybe we will get the chance to drive #THUNDERCAT all the way up there and take a few weeks to explore the area. My big question I have for you two is: What was it like stepping back into your home after so many months away exploring? What were thoes mixed feelings? Haha- Are you going to downsize? I hope not!!! haha.. Happy New Year. Sorry I couldn't make it out to Palm Springs for The RVers watch party.. But we will be out in La Posa North in a couple of weeks!
Thank you for the awesome Go North series. Loved the adventure you four have brought to the big and small screen. Beautiful views and wonderful narration. Will you give a review of the truck camper lifestyle now that the north adventure is coming to a close? Looking for your honest thoughts on truck camper living. Things that you would change, upgrade, leave behind, or do differently with the truck camper, if the next adventure calls.
I absolutely love this series on your trip to Alaska. What was the date of your visit to the Chena Hotsprings? Watched this a second time. Am now able to answer my question. Thank you for sharing your wonderful trip.
I loved your videos so much. that we booked out flight this first week of September.. do you think its good time to see northern lights in first week of September 2021.? Thankyou so much!!
First I just want to say what an incredible video this was, all highlights of the trip were captured in Spectacular quality footage and I learned a lot about the upcoming trip I'm planning for the North. However, a big led down, is no where in this video does the crew or narrator mention the date and time of the trip, this is vital information for trip goers to plan a visit of their own. I had to go into their blog, go through the whole story again in writing, then find it in the comments section when it was an answer to a comment left by someone else. I won't let the rest of the viewers go through this pain, but the trip was around September 8th 2019. Please o Please going forward make sure to mention the month and date of the year you are visiting a place. THIS IS KEY. thanks!
Thank you for the feedback! You can find a brief itinerary of our entire trip including dates here: www.mortonsonthemove.com/go-north/go-north-frequently-asked-questions/

Belated Happy New Year Caitlin & Tom . I have enjoyed your vlogs immensley & your great narrating . I flew on a float plane decades ago while on a one way cruise up the inland passage to Seward then by bus to Anchorage to fly home to the lower 48 on Labor day . Nothing like seeing Alaska from the air like you did in this vlog . I loved Alaska immensley . It was my best cruise ever . There's a YOU TUBER Family " Somers in Alaska" that live in North Pole , Alaska they are Jessica & Bert & their children Audrey , Evelyn & Garrett aka buddy . I'm subscribed to them . Jessica's mother is in the Air National Guard & she is stationed @ Eielson Air Force Base in Fairbanks . Bert he was born & raised in Northpole , Alaska as well as the three children .
On video Low frame rate (2 per sec) long shutter... Or you could do a timelapse, with long shutter camera.. need a fast lens too. (This was on a f1.2 lens) wide lens would be best. Our setup was not great, and took heavy post processing, but it still came out ok.
When you finish editing your Alaskan vacation would you mind or be interested in doing a wrap up, highlights reel, blooper reel, unseen video, what your thoughts of using a truck camper vs your 5th wheel, would you try to do it in a 5th wheel and some tips/budget must have gear for people who have never done it?
