    Great little clip of a very missed human being. I saw the MC5 in summer 1969 in Queens NY and smoked a joint with Rob a few hours before the show. He was cool and hung out with us for awhile and traded us some White Panther papers and flyers for 2 Sun Ra impulse albums he needed.

    Damn, I wished he was still alive! Think of all the bands who've come along since his death who would give their right arm to have Rob Tyner do a guest vocal for them!

    Rob told me and another reporter (Roger Hitts) in 1982 backstage at Autumn Rock Fest that we had to be the ones to pass on the rock-and-roll torch to the next generation. We thought Tyner may've dropped too much acid...but instead, he proved to be a visionary, as rock (at least as we once knew it) has been on life support for quite a while.

    From the heart. From the greatest frontman to take the stage. He had a magnetic stage presence and a voice that still stands the test of time.

    I was standing in the aisle bullshitting when all of a sudden i see Rob Tyner walking down the same aisle carrying those UGLY BOOTS! We shot the shit for a few and for some reason i asked for his autograph, which i don't usually make a habit of. Rob said... "Ya' man, that'll be 10 bucks"!!! I said..."Fuck, i seen the MC5 20 times or better, and even seen You guys play at Boblo island in 65-66"? Rob said..."You seen us at Boblo"? "Shit, it's on the house"! The Detroit State FairGrounds Coliseum swap meet was in late February of 1991, Rob had a heart attack about 7 months after this video was shot by..BIG DICK RICH! Big Dick used to tape all the Rod Crawford Detroit Motorcycle Spring runs also. R.i.P Brother Rob.

    How could he had done to prevented himself from having heart attack ? What did he do to cause himself to die like that ?

    • @joelombrdo
      @joelombrdo 6 лет назад +4

      I was wondering the same thing. Doctor once told me if you have a heart attack before you're 50 that it's usually genetic so if this is true there may not have been much Rob could've done to change the outcome. Major bummer.
