Amazing to see Confederate Veteran, Matthew Robbinson of the 44th Alabama, on the porch carving wood with his many grandchildren. Like some of his Union counterparts, he fought in several battles and survived to live well into the 20th century. Thank you for these historically important videos. The past will not be altered or erased.....
To those men, the Great Depression wasn't even a difficult time, because they had seen what bad times really were. American heroes. Southern by the Grace of God.
Awesome video! Real American history! All the men that fought in the Civil War, both Union and Confederacy were heros! It was so sad that so many young men died during the Civil War! May the all rest in peace!
Brion McClanahan did 45 min vid on Nathan Brdford Forrest at Ft Pillow in 1864. Source: Sandy Mitchim book, "Bust Hell Wide Open". He fights the good fight too. Thanks for posting BD.
Brave men who fought in terrible battles.I'm amazed at how robust these guys in their 80,s and 90,s were.We should not complain about our pains when looking at these robust men
It’s a tricky process but I’m enjoying trying to make it work. Some clips take it better than others, but I’m hopeful I can get some more to a somewhat passable level! Appreciate ya as always!
My great grandfather and 2 of his brother's from tippah County Mississippi fought for the Confederate and my great great grandfather from bibb County Alabama also for the Confederate side im proud of my southern heritage
These veterans, no matter what side they fought for, fought for something they believed in. Thank you for sharing this.❤
These vids need to be saved & shared in order to remind the next generation of their roots
I’m trying, RUclips is determined to repress them though. Share them where you can!
I love these videos. Could watch them all day.

I wonder if many, or any, of his wood carvings have survived the years. Would be neat to have something he carved.
It's a wonderful gift to us, that you have saved this valuable film. Thank you for the voices of the South. 👍🌹
