I love how everyone tackled this scenario differently! Pearl ended up in her season one outfit, Empires False is on an adventure... and Gem is a LARPer who doesn't want one of her friend groups to realize she goes to Renaissance Fairs with her other friends group on the weekends.

Maybe her dimensional hopping is what caused the rift to form? Like she weakened the barrier between their worlds by crossing back and forth so much.

I have a theory about that actually! (You don’t have to read if you don’t want to waste time on my weirdness 😅) but since hermitcraft and empires is connected, and Gem is in both of them, maybe she’s obsessed with sleeping before sunset because during the night she travels to hermitcraft, where it’s day time because multiverse time zones. I don’t watch hermitcraft so this might not match up well, but I think that its something fun to think about!

I like to think that C!Gem is an expert costume designer and makes all of her skins from scratch. In all of her bedrooms, there is a magic closet that’s full of all of the outfits she’s worn over the years and every morning, she picks which costume to wear that day. There’s also two boxes in the closet full of old costumes, one is marked “MCC” and the other is marked “Afterlife."
That reminds me of a children's series I watched, where kids would dress up and end up in the world they dressed up for.
I loved that show and the concept, so big fan of this Theory ^^

In the end of Grian's episode, it's shown that the rift in the hermitcraft side is either disabled or destroyed.

It could be possible, but if you think about it, Gem is a princess of the sun and the day, she obviously doesn't like the night. Maybe her character could have more power during the day. As for the glasses, it could be to protect the eyes of all the people enduring the sun.

Seeing how the myct multiverse technically has alternate Universe versions of everyone (all of rats smp/Scott being everywhere) this could mean that there’s an actual empires!gem but this gem took her place somehow

i kind of like how each person is reacting differently to seeing familiar faces. it reflects each persons storytelling and the way they view their character! for some people, their minecraft guy is their consistent character across worlds. for other people, their minecraft guy is Them, putting on different outfits. and still others view their minecraft guy as a blank canvas to make a wildly different character each time. it effects the stories they tell and the way the audience is supposed to interact with the story. It's extra interesting when someone thinks they recognize someone from their world, but the other doesnt recognize them at all because they have different ideas of where their character begins and ends!!!
i can appreciate ur honesty about what kinda story you want to tell and how you want to go about it!! i for one love uninterrupted roleplay that rarely breaks the fourth wall, but i would never ask someone to do that if thats not their style LOL. it only works if youre excited to do that! i love hearing your perspective on princess gem, it sort of reminds me of ttrpg actual play podcasts, where a lot of meta talk is happening in the midst of roleplay, so you end up with a really holistic view of the character! anyway lovely episode. i wonder if bdubs would be happy to hear about the church of dawn LOL
The idea that Gem plane shifts to another world because she likes being a princess is both adorable and hilarious.
Instead of just pumpkins in the roof try using jack o lanterns. Light source for mob proofing.

The lore implications from everyone’s POV’s is that some people can remember their time in other servers, but others can’t. Notably, Scott didn’t recognize anyone from last life but jimmy and tango recognized each other from last life.
Oh boy did Tango EVER recognize TimmyJimmy! Holy Frygg, but the bromance got turned up to 11 in like 0.05 seconds flat.
I think we can say the first hermits episodes on empires are non cannon. Or at least parts of it. Grian said at the end of his episodes that they’ll need to start leaning into the whole lore thing.

Some people on Empires, like Sausage and Scott, lean heavily into the lore. Some, less so. I think Jimmy said that his lore for this season was "Hat." He found a hat.
im expecting tons of fanfic and art about Gem travelling realms when she sleeps, complete with weird situations of one version of her being awoken suddenly by something and her other version just suddenly collapsing. it must be done.

I'm sure that Gem's ability to jump between universes will be very helpful for the hermits to come back to hermitcraft. Maybe some dawn princess magical powers.

Ya know what.. small idea, you should make a hidden version of the rift in every base to show the dimension hopping as lore, that's my suggestion ofc, but it'd make sense, one in the elven castle and one in dawn :p

No matter how their stories come out to reconcile the two worlds, it's good to see everyone together and should make for interesting times.
People like Grian is just straight into the chaos and explaining/having fun, where as people like Gem try and keep the lore and also her Hermit self.
... I get the feeling that with this whole crossover thing of hermitcraft and Empires... that Doc is going to become the enemy of everyone on the server by setting up super efficient farms for everything. Every food type, copper, frog lights, iron, moss, bone meal, every dye color, and then some... only a matter of time.

@@CoCoPuff331 Dammit, I just remembered her comment, I don't know anyone in Empires, but when Grian and Scar and others were in the Empire in the sky, with the 11 ft tall god, I think, they Empire owner was explaining about how the rich gods live above the poor mortals live below, Pearl made a comment about how she feels right at home above! I just realized that was more than her personality! That's cool.

I love the church roof gradient. It just looks so nice and colorful. The sunglasses are a nice touch as well, though you might be heading a bit closer to Sun cult than church with the rules. Impulse needs a bear in Hermitcraft, whenever he returns to the HC server he needs to take one with him. Great episode and I'm loving the crossover event.

I loved your meta explanation in the end, reminded me a lot of playing DND with my friends, how we sometimes goof and break the fourth wall and sometimes we're seriously in character. Specially at the end of a season just talking about what just happen, what we want to do moving forward, etc...
I love the way you share a little of the behind the scenes decision making that goes on around your different characters for empires v hermitcraft, and empires last season too! Its interesting to see how what we as audience see on screen comes to be
I absolutely adore the idea of Gem not quite living double live, but rather just making her actual "princess lore" being literaly a "princess lore" for character she enjoys RP'ing as with her group of friends. I've been into larping during my uni years, and feeling embarrassed and secretive about it was somewhat a charm of it. Playing a make-believe with other like minded people who didn't judge was in essence an escape from boredom and stress of my "regular" life. And since it was an escape to another world, I didn't want those two worlds to collide as much as possible. "Yeah, no, sorry, I have a... thing... on saturdays" was awkward but also it was somehow fun. A guilty pleasure to an extent I guess. I was never "found out" in a character by the "outsiders", but I did have a hard time explaining to my parents that my vampire get up wasn't a cult or a fetish thing.

I’m really enjoying seeing how different Hermits are reacting and trying to work out how each of the Empire people stay in character. Gem, maybe just explain away the difference as having found an earlier rift between the worlds. Any elaborately plots will feel contrived.

I just have to say, now that the princess of Dawn is starting the church of the Sun One phrase will likely become prevalent on Empires episodes... and praise the Sun it fits.

OH. MY. PEARL. THIS LORE OVER THE MULTIVERSE. WOAH. SO TO GET THIS STRAIGHT: Gem is a rift traveler that travels to Hermitcraft, Empires, and etc.. So this means she ALREADY KNEW HOW TO TRAVEL THROUGH THE RIFT BUT NEVER TOLD ANYONE SO SHE COULD PRETEND TO BE DIFFERENT PEOPLE IN DIFFERENT WORLDS.

after watching her in the other videos that were released earlier, i thought that she would be going the chavez-like character in the minecraft multiverse.
Terraforming is one of my favorite things to do in Minecraft. It’s also what I’m best at. I can make excellent hills and caves, but I don’t do nearly as well when making houses. I recently made a ginormous geode on one of my private creative worlds. Nice to see another person who enjoys terraforming as much as me!
I hope they have some of the Empires people go over to Hermitcraft too for this crossover.

I love your intro. It has a feel for a fun novel which shows your aware of multiple universes you take part in.
I've been thinking of 1 or 2 characters that shift between/through universes/worlds.
Also it's cool that Pixel is here too because I see him as someone who can see into other worlds on occasion. Maybe he has a viewing window that opens every weekend.

Hopefully this crossover lasts through the holidays, doing multiple SMPs has to be very time consuming and a bit stressful. Being able to concentrate on a single set of builds has its benefits as well.

I was very curious how the lore would work with False and Gem since they are in both worlds. I must say I love how you’ve done it. 1 is out adventuring while the other knows about the multiverse and is able to dimension hop (sort of reminds me of America Chavez from Marvel)

I have a lore idea!!! What if Princess Gem became an evil Queen? Perhaps she has become altered by the Rift or something, because she has been jumping between the worlds too often. I think this would be an amazing plot twist because as you stated in the video, Princess Gem is a fun loving and cheerful person who doesn't want too much power and she is just happy being a Princess, but as she hops between worlds, her personality could slowly be altered every-time she changes worlds. And maybe, The Watchers are controlling her, from the Evo series in 2017. Perhaps the Hermits and Empires players have to work together to save Princess Gem and defeat the watchers once and for all. But maybe the players who used to be on the Evo server keep having flash backs to their times on the Evo server, and then remember the Listeners. Maybe the only people or things who know how to defeat the Watchers are the Listeners, and they have to try to contact the Listeners to find the way to defeat the Watchers.
I hope this is some good inspiration for you Gem, and I also wanted to say how much I love your videos. You are an amazing creator and I am so happy to be apart of the Gemintay community.
I love this idea!!! And Kathrine could become her evil follower. Maybe the reason why Kathrine's kingdom is corrupted is because the watchers have cursed her, knowing they would at some point corrupt her friend Gem, causing Kathrine to want to become her follower, as they have already formed a strong friendship. When they defeat the watchers, the corruption in her empire disappears, although some scars still show the past of her kingdom, but Kathrine decides embraces them.
Gem seems like she's beyond the Watchers control. She's a full on Roleplayer. Gem only plays along because their rules amuse her.

Love it!! I wondered how you would work the lore with 2 worlds since you were "left Behind" Its really neat to see all these Minecraft characters all in the same world! I cant wait to see what you all get into!
for the lore, you could create a very small rift somewhere hidden in your base that your character - who is both a princess and an elf - has been using this whole time to travel between the worlds. but she's choosing to keep the still-working rift a secret, because she doesn't want to be blamed for the chaos the larger rift has caused. this way, if you wanted, you could still be playing on both worlds, and your character has an in-universe explanation as to why she isn't stuck like the rest of the hermits are!

This was an awesome entry level video. I was having so much difficulty digesting the other hermits/ empire members videos since it's my first time watching empires SMP. But your video was like a link from the literal to the roleplay, with clear explanations. And not a lot of craziness going on that overwhelms me from the get go.
