I'd like to see an adults only area with a spa! I've not seen this yet with other content creators.
Or an indoor section would also be unique
Or... A center Parcs style rapids?
Yes to the spa area, with saunas, steam baths, hot and ice tubs
you could also build some "showers" and foot baths on every pool entrance, normally every outdoor pool has these
Suggestion: build a fake volcano that has a waterslide coming out of it. There is a waterpark in italy that has something similar, maybe its good for inspiration. It’s named Caneva Aquapark.
also something similar exists in volcano bay in america
so i fully support this idea, perhaps a volcano that more fits the vibe of this park though
Great idea. You can use the recolorable marble to look like lava.
Ooh that's a great idea
my park has a volcano and sone trex on it it looks great
I’d like to see this. I have a volcano plan for my park. Built the mountain out of terrain but am working out how to make it actually look like a volcano.
I'm absolutely loving this series. Your voice is so great to listen to, your building is phenomenal, and love the creativity in your work. Keep it up!
If you’re burnt out from tiki, not all water parks have one conclusive theme throughout. I worked in marketing for the Sandcastle in Blackpool and the park had subtle themed areas that all fit the tropical vibe. Caribbean, African, Tiki and Aztec. If you feel like you want to mix it up, maybe tackle a different tropical theme in a new area of the park. Just a thought, loving the content ~ from a fellow Brit who moved to Canada
The parks looking great Jonti :)
I couldn’t tell you the amount of times I’ve opened a planco map just to stare at it for a couple minutes then close it again for a week or so. Just have to wait for the inspiration to come!
Yup! It do be like that... glad I'm not alone!
Every park has that one ridiculously tall single person trapdoor slide with the really twisty tube slides going all around it. Another idea is those river rapids rides that were in planet coaster 1. You can do a lot with themes and scenery throughout as well as have areas at the end where people walking past can squirt the rafts with jets of water. Just a thought.
Every waterpark I’ve ever been to has one giant tall slide that just goes straight down. No fancy turns or bumps or anything. It’s only purpose is to be as tall as possible. I feel like we should have one of those somewhere.
1. How about fake spa/hotel that has a viewing platform/balcony that looks over the water park.
2. Something like glamping or hut accommodation like Davey Crockett (Disney for reference)
3. What about a cabanas area, for an “adult” only zone that has a bar for the adults to relax away from screaming kids with its own private pool area. Thinking very VIP could include a slightly different theme like Roman spa to set the tonal difference.
4. Maybe some fake large communal hot tubs using water effects to create bubbles in like a hot springs inspired area like from a volcano?
I do think you need a few more flumes. I know you have a few already, but a waterpark like this would have several. We're talking fairly mellow, helix-type slides into a dedicated exit pool. You might also need one more "big one", a near-vertical one that is designed to adjust the rider's bathing suit halfway up inside their body. The one you have already might be a little tame by some waterparks' standards.
Oh God, the "what next" burnout is so real!!! Nerdolandia is now at that point because I'm about to start filming the "pools" element to it.. and I'm just like "yeah, but.. what?" and I don't seem to have a plan or inspiration for it...
The placement of the two rings and surfboard near the Rooms Available sign at 21:26 could be considered suggestive.
Yes, water towers are for generating pressure!
But we do still have a few in the UK, they almost always look very brutalist/useful rather than the pretty american ones :P
As far as I know there's two main reasons we don't have as many water towers as NA:
- Simply better, more centralised water networks allow us to rely on pumping more.
- American towns are often flatter, or more likely to be based around 1 hill, whereas British towns often have much more variable heights so the solution of "put water higher than house to make pressure go" isn't as simple here.
Suggestion: How about a pool for diving? Doesn't need to be huge, but have a few diving boards of different heights, maybe make it look like a cliff ala cliff diving?
My first thought when you started building that floating tap pool was you were going to make a giant coconut cocktail centerpiece, complete with paper umbrella and straw! Loved watching your stream last week, couldn't believe you were still online when I got back after a couple of hours out... ;)
Episodes like this to work on filling gaps or prettying up existing structures can be great for us to see how you utilise the "nothing" spots in the park.
Perhaps its time to build that weenie and make a giant slide tower at the back of the park? A huge drop slide to bring in the thrill seekers!
Hope the inspiration strikes soon and you can power through the rest of this park, can't wait to see it finished!
I have a suggestion - Maybe you could build a VIP area in the park that only members have access too ( like a merlin pass membership ) So like and area thats tucked away with hot tubs and posh sun Lounges and a private pool and snack bar. Or maybe an adult area that parents can go and relax whist the big kids are on the water sides etc.
Love this idea, seconding an adults only area! you can have a "bar" there too
@ thank you, I think it’s something that would fit in quite well.
Convex, is the word you were looking for. I always think of 'cave' in the word, 'concave', as being a hole into something. An indent. That's how I remember, anyway 😅
I am treating your channel as a way to get new ideas for the game and i watch the streams to get a break from the all the slop content everywhere else on youtube keep making more content. 😃
Do hot tubs/indoor pools go in water parks? If so maybe a couple of them mixed with a more luxurious area?
Perhaps an arcade if you're a bit swimming-pooled out?
I love the wonky building 😊
An idea that pops up is some sort of adventure path, with timed water jets, stepping stones, a cave, lots of foliage, maybe even a bit educational with little signs and names of all the plants that are planted throughout the park?
Don't feel creator guilt for things like that, i understand why you'd maybe feel that but just remember that people watch you (and other creators) for way more then just custom peices. Its also about your detail work, design, layout etc.
I have all the same pieces as you and yet my brain doesn't even consider putting a float return at the bottom of the slide and yet that sort of think is what brings a park to life and makes you a good creator and fun to watch :)
feel you 100% mate i already have water park fatigue haha. exactly why i'm doing something else this week. needed a break. the QSR did come out awesome in the end, though. great work!
Looks great!! Maybe an adventure play area type bit similar to ski patrol training camp at blizzard beach with go ape type stuff over water for teenagers (and adults) could be fun. A lot of people are suggesting a spa, but im not sure it fits in this park
Make a slow meandering tube slide that is white and goes through the rocks! I think that would be really cool.
Please build a B&M Surf Coaster, it would wrap up the water park in a perfect way
Bit of suggestion for you maybe instead of building more gift shops put it arcade games like hook a duck and throw a ball in a barrel or something like this as they are normally all over parks
You need a roman rapids, log flume and splash coaster if available. as for theming, I think a lighthouse and some shipwrecks would fit nicely. maybe a ww1 style submarine that washed ashore. Would also love to see some more of those ruins too. a Bimini road leading to Atlantis or something of that nature. Love the work. much thanks
Park looks fantastic. I believe the mechanic buildings would be for the mechanics to go and get tools and relax
Love that water tower, buddy! It looks fantastic!
I would have agreed completely on that creator guilt on using ingame pieces a year ago, but I actually did a video on making an entire zoo with \only\ blueprints, from the workshop or from frontier themselves, and it helped me understand that not everything needs to be custom!
For what you could do next? I love Eronorbi’s suggestion, I think you can do something really fun with a volcano facade that looks great from the front but from the back is just a block of backstage goodness lol. Have you started on a car park yet? That could also be a fun approach! Either way, whatever you choose, looking forward to what you bring next! 💚
ALSO completely agree on the creator block being fixed by live streaming! I’ve been doing it a lot more recently, and it helped me fall back in love with Planet Zoo. Originally did it because “I don’t want to be alone when I’m placing down 100’s of pieces of grass for hours” but now I’m like, here’s the cool stuff I have planned! It’s great! 🔥
Maybe instead of a tap for that fountain, you could indulge in your inner English gent, and make it a tea pot?
You can build a hotel or a full sit-in restaurant? Maybe a little music amphitheater.
I don't know if anyone else has recommended this yet or not, but some of the water parks have a pool specifically for movie nights, they'll have a big screen set up and you can lay in a tube in the pool and watch movies at night!
The purpose of a water tower is to store water high up and move it there using a water pump so that if a town loses power for a long time the water can be routed everywhere without a pump sense you can slope the pipes downward and use gravity to move the water because of how high up it is
Maybe throw in some basic flat rides? It'll give you something else to focus on plus it can help fill out the park? You've focused on so much water slides so give yourself a break :)
I'm feeling that idea burn out as well. It's resulted in my completely shifting my initial idea for the park. What started out as a cheaper budget park with a few rides and some pools has turned into a very expensive and well put together park... so now I'm going back to my older rides and buildings and rebuilding them.
I know it's not a big new expansion idea, but going around and adding leaky pipes and stuff to rides is a great idea. The one I went too as a kid ALWAYS had leaky pipes under all the slides.
Maybe you could add in a little "dry area"? The same park as before also had a dry area with small rides, go-karts, merry-go-round, cheaper flat ride stuff.
Mechanic buildings are currently only for research in career and franchise modes.
I think another idea that would fit in to planquatica would be a slower raft slide with lots of dark ride elements. Not sure how much you want to get into doing dark rides before meanderville though 😊
There’s always trapdoor slides/vertical drop slides if you ever want to add other slides! A great inspo is Vanish Point
Oh yeah, a big trap door slide as a weenie is something I want to do
Love your style and attention to detail 🎉
Getting mad Butlins vibes from the Wonk and Brokey tbh, and I'm not sure if you want this park to be more chill family type vibes but some bigger more extreme slides would be cool to see imo😅❤
An underwater coaster would be cool (theme the Coaster Cars as Submarine)
I got discouraged with my Lazy River. Spent so much time on theming, and just to find out my peeps are getting stuck and swimming the "wrong way". Ugh. You are inspiring me to keep on going. Thank you!
Adding more points of exit has seemed to help a little with my 'wrong way' problem.
@@Geekism Thank you for the advice!
could always swap the floating tap for something like a floating rubber duck, a rubber ring or surfboard
I see someone has already recommended the drop slides, which was gonna be my first recommendation on what's missing, but I do have 2 others. The first is a large tube slide that is fully enclosed instead of open in the top. I'm probably not using the terminology right, but almost every park I've been to has both tube rides that are exposed to the air and also ones that are fully enclosed, or at least have some dark sections. The other thing I can think is missing is a slide with that large funnel on it, though that's probably for the water slide physics update
I would think a flat ride wouldn't be out of place in a water park of this scall and I would love to see one or two :)
Random areas of leaky water seem to be everywhere at water parks. Also maybe a ride that is fully enclosed in a dark building?
The tap is a good idea if you can pull it off. usually the pipe in the middle is clear glass.
This is going to sound a bit stupid, but here in Australia we have "big [insert item here]". Something that _may_ fit in to your tki theme is a Big Pineapple. Maybe as a pizza restaurant (heh heh) or a dry ride.
Missed your stream of this by seconds. Australia time, yeah. ;)
I've only been to an actual waterpark once, which was a bit of a feverdream 😂 But themed public pools I've been to often had those small build in jacuzzi's or 'hot tubs' about the place. Where you could sit and chat among the bubbles. Don't know of that's possible to make in this game🤷Plus a cave, with underwater seating, is quite a staple too.
I think you need a spa. In Europe, lot of water park have a vip spa area. Or just a zone with jacuzzi, Hamam, Sauna...
We still need Hottubs, showers, lockers and saunas. Those are very common in water parks
One ofbthe things i can think of from our small local waterpark you are missing is the lilypad walking area and a rope swing. Th park is spalsh summit in provo utah.
A swimming cave could be cool
18:51 we got gas.. reminds me off dumb and dumber.. "I got worms" haha
Would like to see a wild rappids somehow, may be a water coaster with themed work hiding the track
Is it possible to do a ride like Tidal Wave at Thorpe park? I guess it wouldn’t as you’d need to do a roller coaster into a pool and use water spouts to make it look like the ride hitting the water makes a splash, and as we all know, guests kinda go funny when there is a mix of coasters and water rides
There actually is a water tower in the game under facilities haha
Loving this series!!! 😀
If your getting tired of tiki, switch up to Aztec that’s different but would still work within the parks theme?
Could do like a tree top walk or something with wooden bridges going over the lazy river
Don't know if this fits the theme but all I could think of that you didn't mention is a Sauna.
At the water park in my hometown they had a water volleyball pool. Course the ball was always missing and it was right next to the bathrooms so it was just a pee pool😅😂
chipotle is a classic QSR restaurant.
Make the fountain a gulpee can LMAOAOAO
Check out the floating tap roandaboat in Ypres, Belgium!
How about an arcade? Or mini golf course? Also, is it possible to do like a 3-5 min overview before the episode starts to show off everything you did on the live streams?
Maybe a Grotto/cave pool?
Maybe some big trapdooor slides
A surf 🏄♂️ wave practice area
The colour is perfect..
What about a river rapids ride?
Next you could literally just build a pool or an indoor pool. Idk some waterparks have them.
What about an Adults only private swim up bar pool and cabana area hidden away.
I stayed in a hotel that had private poolside cabanas
I’d like to see a diving bord area
Hello You!
I apologise but you know I have to do the classic if you're asking for suggestions.
"build a coaster"
17:03 that gravel would be uncomfy barefoot!
True, although I thought it was more of an asphalt texture... I'll take a look
Please give us an episode where you just show us the park
hope crashing gets fixed next update on ps5 december cuz I was building a awesome tracked ride then the game crashed 🤬
I think a rapids will fit. Or a log flume
Positive comment
Not a content creator but I definitely run into that same issue of feeling kinda off about using blueprints or big "complete" pieces. It kinda feels like those massive lego pieces that represent a whole thing instead of the parts it's made up of. It feels a bit like cheating I guess.
Concave happy face convex sad
Planet coaster on console is really bad it’s slow and multi select doesn’t work while editing buildings I hope they fix it
Lots of fixes coming, I'm sure
you pronounced anuenue wrong. "a nue a nu e" is the correct pronounciation.
Oh thanks!
Play parkitect. Maybe splitting up the content will break you from "writers block" you are feeling. And more content for the channel.
It isn't that I don't want to play PC2... I'm putting hours into another park file that I can't put down... I'm just a little stuck on what to do in this water park
First…….Sorry 😂
Don't apologize, you get that first lol. All helps the algorithm:D
@ wooooo thank you 😊
