I think Asami’s a better fit for her, she matches her energy and is also extremely smart and is good for Korra, she’s what makes her happy. Opal is the same for Bolin, Opal is what makes Bolin happy and I think both of them ended up with great people in the end.
@@Ajskull Absolutaley. KidHaru's comment and this whole video is the proof that Bolin and Korra are best buddy materials for each other and not an ideal couple. If the series was a bit more for adults I could imagine a weird phase in which they are friends with benefits or they try to force a relationship like Rachel and Joey did in 'FRIENDS' and awkwardly fail at it kind of like they did, but it makes a lot of sense to me that they didn't end up together. It was parts of their arcs actually to find more fitting partners for themselves. For Bolin a more feminine and intellectual, for Korra someone who understands her identity issues and is as fierce as she is.

However, Mako never abused Korra, it's just that their relationship didn't mean as much to him as it did for her. Mako just isn't a boyfriend material and Korra wants someone she can look for support.

Honestly, when I finished the season, I thought back to her and bolin. I don't think that there was any other time where she had so much fun with someone. You can tell that Korra was having a lot of fun with bolin and they got along very well. I think that if they ended up with each other they would have made an amazing couple. But I also came to understand the directions the directors decided to go with. WE LOVE YOU BOLIN⛰️✊♥️💚

We just rewatched Korra with my GF and the one thing is clear - Asami is cool and all but her relationship with Korra comes out of nowhere while Bolin just the best boy. He is so caring that every girl in the series should have just grabbed him and never let go
Bolin and Opal fit together. Similar to Aang and Katara. But Korra and Bolin, just as Katara and Zuko fit better in their dynamic as a counterbalance to each other.

Not only does Bolin put in much more effort than Mako, he really appreciates her and for all the right reasons. She's always in a better, lighter mood around him, and they have great chemistry.

I think everyone just hates Mako. 😂 Maybe instead of Mako, they should have put Iroh II as part of team Avatar? He was well liked and they could have did more with his relationship with Izumi and commanding the United Forces military. Yes he's older than the others but they could have scaled his age down or something. Seems like an interesting character that could have been more explored on. Could also give him time to interact with Bumi and show him some growth too. Would have also gotten rid of the unnecessary love triangle. Pretty sure someone has already said this but, I really think that could have been a good option. As for Mako, he could have been side-character instead.
I *COULD NOT* understand why Korra chose Mako over Bolin when I first watched the series a few years back. They genuinely clicked. Korra and Mako together was like two mismatched puzzle pieces being forced together. I don’t understand how they could say they love one another when all they did was fight in their relationship.

I could only see Bolin and Korra as really best buddies. These scenes shows that. Both of them have so much energy that they'll always end up fighting if they're in a relationship but brotherhood? They're perfect. Bolin is a perfect guy best friend in my opinion. He's got that teddy bear aura about him that's why a lot of girls don't pick him. Opal being born away from hustle and bustle of the world fits him as she can give him attention when he's all telling his stories because opal have never really been out there by herself so they clicked. Korra has more of a heavy responsibility on her shoulder type. And she was first acting like a spoiled teenager who later learned that life isn't always pretty like she expect it, Asami's energy and grounded personality fits her. She's smart too and I noticed most avatars partners or people they like leaned on that part maybe because avatars can be duffus sometimes. They need someone with a level head to ground them especially how stressful mentally their futures are going to be later on in life. (Their main purpose after all is to put balance in both human and spirit world and if anyone noticed, Korra's era people doesn't take them seriously in a different way than in the past. Sort of like how nobles became like symbolic figures in our society now) If say they don't have Asami in the series and another character but same personality then that person still fit as Korra's other half be it another dude or gal. Make though, they aren't really compatible at all. Make feels like a single type of person all his life. He may have a girlfriend or kids in the future but marriage isn't gonna be his thing.

I legit almost stopped watching the first season because I was so mad about how Korra just straight up broke Bolin's heart like that. I never felt so bad for a character before, he brought her flowers and everything!
I remember my first watch-through, I shipped these two so hard. It was crushing to see the end scene there. And I'm still trying to recover😭

Well to be fair Mako did have feelings for Korra even before the kiss and tried to convince Bolin out of dating Korra because he had feelings even though he was dating Asami.
He claimed it was a bad idea to date a team member yet he is dating the girl who is basically sponsored his team through her wealthy father.
@@GreatUniter He was telling the truth though, *it is straight up a bad idea to date a teammate* (I've watched literally 3 dozen shows, both live action and cartoon that confirm this) and Asami was the daughter of the guy who was funding his team, she wasn't a teammate, there's a difference.
And Mako told Korra that he had feelings for her because of how terribly they just played their last match and because he hadn't been completely honest with her, and then Korra (due to having no social skills) misinterpreted the situation and kissed him.

Mako was being a hypocrite. He told Bolin it is a bad idea to date a teammate when he is dating the girl who basically funding his team. If the relationship went bad there is the chance she would stop sponsoring them.
Mako would have pursued Korra himself if hadn't met Asami or he wasn't attracted to Asami.
We see Mako get jealous of Korra agreeing to go with Bolin. He even accused Korra of dating Bolin to get back at him for rejecting her. He even threatened to end his "friendship" with Korra all because she was investigating Hiroshi Sato's possible ties to the Equalists.
Korra only told Mako about her feelings for him because of Pema. Pema is a homewrecker and advised Korra to do the same.
Korra grew up socially isolated until she was 17. Why is it so surprising that she utilize a respected elders advice regarding love?
@@GreatUniter Like I said, there's a difference between the girl who's funding your team (and not playing on it), and the girl who is playing on your team (and isn't funding it).
Also, after he tells Korra that he doesn't feel the same way about her, we see his face and how he feels terrible about what he said because he still really likes Korra and he didn't want to hurt her feelings. And he misinterpreted that situation because he thought she was just agreeing to go with Bolin and get dinner just to get back at Mako, he literally says that when he confronts her before the next match. And you act like jealously is something completely scarce and had never existed in any other franchise until The Legend of Korra came out??? Jealously is nothing new. It's existed in hundreds of books, shows, and movies long before The Legend of Korra existed.
Also, let me remind you, Hiroshi Sato is the guy who: *funded The Fire Ferrets, bought new uniforms for the team, got them into the championship tournament, willingly agreed after his daughter asked him if it was ok to let Mako and Bolin move into their INSANELY HUGE MANSION filled with luxury, riches, and incredibly loyal servants, 5/5 Star Hospitality, etc etc...* And after all the good things that Hiroshi had done for them and how according to Tenzin he publicly supported Benders, they were supposed to believe that he was an Equalist, after he was literally the new nicest rich guy in the city who actually seemed to care about them??? Of course they weren't going to believe Korra! And Mako threatened to end their friendship because she thought she was being incredibly jealous of him and Asami (which she previously and somewhat currently was).

Still, I think thats exactly the point of the Story. Dating someone, just to make you fell better, only gets people hurt. Mako basically did the same thing in Book 2 with Asami.
And let's face it, they just not ment for each other. And even if they could have ended better, both of them were actually very lucky, because at the end of the series, each of them has found his true love.
I can respect and accept that, but it was still on the writers for not exploring it all. I guarantee you the show would’ve a little more successful if they had.
I mean all that comes next for Korra and Bolin is jokey moments and a few hugs, nothing that reaches this level of chemistry which is already above Korra’s other relationships if we’re being completely honest. If they’re not meant for each other, then we should see the reasons why they’re not like we do with Korra and Mako.
Korra/Asami and Bolin/Opal are fine, great even. But they’re both last season author’s saving throws.
