Ive heard others with similar stories.

MrMcBoomBoom ports of 3, 4, and 5 aren’t confirmed, but the devs admitted a big reason they’re getting ported in Japan is because of how popular the series is becoming overseas, so it’d be very incongruous for them not to get ported outside Japan too

This is the best entry in the series--story wise and gameplay. This is my favorite even in the PS2 days and seeing it remade is a a treat. It's a shame that critics keep comparing every single entry to Yakuza 0 because it's the only one they played and didn't experience the series when it first released. It's the very reason that it took this long for the series to gain traction in the West because back then, the comparison is against GTA which is just so wrong. They keep yearning for the multiple battle styles. From Yakuza 1-5 there is no such thing. The game is known for its extremely beatuiful narratives and voice acting grounded on mature themes. Its gameplay is a mix of the whimsy and outrageous Japanese culture paired with a solid action RPG element. I hope people won't get discouraged to play this game. For $10 less, you'll find Yakuza Kiwami 2 worth more than the usual $60 mainstream games out there.
I'll give zero 9.5, kiwami is a 7 and yakuza 6 was a 8/9 I actually enjoyed 6 I loved the setting and damn I liked the story too. I need to play this and find out but I herd alot of positive reviews soo far.
You can get a better perspective if you have played the original Yakuza 2 and then understand what was actually added to this release rather than compare it to the entries that were totally designed for this gen, for example there was no controlling majima sections at all in Either Yakuza 1 or 2 on the PS2, as old head of the series it seems kinda flawed not to compare them the original releases but i get there are TONS of new players now, also welcome to this incredible series!

0, kiwami 1 & 2 are something special in the series. Newcomers and long time fans all have something to fun and addictive to get into by retelling or explaining older tropes and events in the storyline with the best combat in the series.
All of the Yakuza games are incredible in their own right but there was just something special about this game. It’s like it iron out the kinks in Kiwami and improves on the game! My favorite in the series by a long shot
I got Yakuza kiwami on plus a couple days ago and can I just say, it's one of the most charming, over the top and bizare games I ever played and can not wait to play the other entries.

I did play the original yakuza 2...but it was a 2 discs game and the 2nd disc never worked so I only played the 1st disc... now I can play the kiwami 2 and finally beat the game and fully satisfied seeing how Kiryu and the cop lady
I liked the original version, but now that it's been upgraded, it's honestly one of the best in the series. I liked the first Kiwami as well, but the "Majima Everywhere" feature made me want to commit seppuku. Thankfully, that shit's GONE, which allows you to just muck about and enjoy the game at your own pace instead of being ambushed by that kooky Majima every 10 seconds (I fought him about 300 times...).
Yakuza 0,Kiwami 1 and 2, 3-5 and Yakuza like a dragon have hit the xbox game pass and brought the yakuza into main stream gaming. The best part yakuza 0,1,2 are $20 each while 3-5 cost $40. You can also get them via gamepass
Didn't bother to scroll down, but you forgot the best improvement, the damn running! That was my main complaint in 6. This game does not have that issue. As far as costume design, I like to think of it as a reflection on the new engine and just a reminder that this is an, "ultimate", edition. It really is. Overall, my opinion is my opinion, but this is a solid/comfy game and I'm glad they're remastering these overlooked gems. Just play the games in release orders. If you have a PC, you can emulate both Yakuza 1 and 2, then play the remaster of 3-5 as well as Yakuza 0 and 6 on PS4. The reasons why you should play the game in release order is -The Kiwami games(especially 2) are horrible remakes -Yakuza 0 clearly wasn't meant to be played first, as it spoils future games and expects you to know a lot of information from other games
This goes to show that they should make the Kiwami versions for 3 to 6. Since they are gaining international fans from Yakuza 0, that should be enough reason to take the Kiwami all the way, hell why not remake Ishin as well.
I’m glad they remastered these early ones on PS4. I didn’t want to hunt down older PS2 games. My only question is are these remakes, 0 and 6 uncensored in their U.S. releases.
Tho it's not really censoring, the Yakuza game remove some Japanese licensed tracks in their western releases. Thankfully, as of Kiwami 2, they started localizing the licensed tracks as well
Yakuza 0, then Kiwami 1 (a remake of the original), then Kiwami 2 (a remake of the sequel)...from there numbering is straight forward with 3, 4, 5 (all of which are only available on the PS3 at the moment), and wrapping up Kiryu's (the main character) story with 6.
Can't wait all the games have been great with 5, 6 and 0 being my favourites. Got a few months of busy gaming as still need to start my Shenmue HD collection but currently busy with Mafia III.

I’ve never played a Yakuza game and own a PS4...where do I start?
Yakuza 0.
Yakuza 0, then Kiwami 1 (a remake of the original), then Kiwami 2 (a remake of the sequel)...from there numbering is straight forward with 3, 4, 5 (all of which are only available on the PS3 at the moment), and wrapping up Kiryu's (the main character) story with 6.
Yakuza series is the best game ever!
Can't wait all the games have been great with 5, 6 and 0 being my favourites. Got a few months of busy gaming as still need to start my Shenmue HD collection but currently busy with Mafia III.
I've never played a Yakuza game. Does anyone recommend it? Because I've always been sketchy about them.

@jpfernandes921 For me it is, Spidey comes out on the 7th, I prob won't get to this till after RDR2 (Oct.) & KH3 (Jan). Yakuza is def a series I've grown to enjoy, and this review makes me want to play this even more. But not more than the other games. Not....enough....time
