36:27 "It's a big smooshy world." Great quote. Wonderful insights from someone who has climbed the ladder to top-tier, but still remembers what it's like to be struggling to get on the first rung.
12:40 I can relate. There's a difference between knowing and understanding. It's the only reason I could get away without studying or taking too many notes in trade school! When you can answer the questions around why the answer is what it is, it takes quite the load of the "remembering" the answer to questions. Perfect example is that bedsheet comparison horns analogy. Awesome interview guys!
I just discovered Dave’s RUclips channel recently. He & I started out the same way in the underground scenes in our area, and are probably close in age. I wish I stuck to one path rather than trying to be a musician *and* a sound guy. This dude needs a feature on Pensado’s Place, if he hasn’t had one already!
Glad you enjoyed it! I really enjoyed what Dave had to say in that conversation - make sure to check out his channel: ruclips.net/channel/UC_nJM07b0k7C9CvcM-9OH6w
Hey man, what a great interview with the legend Dave Rat, & very insightful, on point questions from yourself. That was fantastic, I wish I could have seen this video 25 years ago when I was starting out in this industry! I'm in Australia, I heard about Dave Rat nearly 20 years ago from a colleague, was stoked when I came across his channel. Well done to you sir, & thank you very much for this. Keep up the good work. Bravo!
Thanks for watching! I have always looked up to Dave and was really grateful for the opportunity to bring him on the channel! I love how he thinks outside of the box and that he can relate everything in life to audio!
I'm glad you enjoy the video, Keaton'sProAV! Dave is a really interesting and friendly person! Make sure to check out his RUclips channel if you haven't already! ruclips.net/channel/UC_nJM07b0k7C9CvcM-9OH6w Please share this video with other audio people! Thanks for watching!

BIG MICK sounds 100% Brummy, funny that Dave thought it was a Scottish accent. 😂
