MTA Subway Catches: R160B Siemens (N) To Coney Island. (2024 5/23/2024 )

Was on the F train until i heard that theres was a r160 running on the N so you know what i had to do best, this was an a great experience brought alot of childhood memories and things back Rode this all the way from Queensboro Plaza To The Last Stop Coney Island. Conductor was very nice even let us get a cab view and such others.

Given that I live in Paris since my birth, it is true that the R160s, regardless of Alstom or Siemens, were a real nostalgia, whether they were aesthetic or even technical (more fluid and efficient than the R46 or 68).
Seeing them again on the N, Q and W lines is really satisfying in any case they will be passing through again in addition to the R211s which will make their massive appearance (like on the A and C currently).

Nice catch! Really cool that its still possible to catch a 160 N train in 2024. Miss these lines, the Siemens N, Q, and W trains were my favorites in the entire system and its sad to see them go

I had caught the Siemens R160 on the E, F, G, Q, and R lines, but I wish I was there with my Dad so I could had caught the Siemens R160 on the N line and I could have had my 1st Video of the N line.

I saw this train randomly pull in to coney island at the same time an R160 Q train was there too. that was a crazy out of nowhere catch

Likely gonna see more R160 sightings on the N/W since those R46s are running like crap. I’ve noticed that it happens mainly on the 8:07AM trip from Astoria-Ditmars Blvd (if it’s put in on the N) and the 8:33AM from Astoria if will run on the W train.

Considering that all 5 car R160's are assigned to the E, F, G and R for CBTC on QBL, Culver, Crosstown, 6th and 8th Avenues, I don't see R160's going back to the N/W or Q unless the G goes back to Coney Island Yard.

Looks to me that N line will be having 1 set of R160 for rush over just like the Q and W. Which means that by 2025 we will be seeing more R160s at CI yards due to the R211s.
