Hi, I could not find any matching speakers (all not sold anymore) so I got the Pioneer TS-G1720F. The two things which need to be done is: 1. the speaker has 4 mounting brackets which do not fit. I cut off two and then they fitted perfectly. 2. There is no connector on the speaker. Open the original connectors in the door (cut the tie-rap and open it with a screw driver), wiggle the wires so they break (make sure you have enough bare wire), then connect them using a terminal block. Voila!
I have exactly the same speakers but are too big to fit in did you cut out the plastic or the metal part of the speaker itself, I'm wondering to replace it for the 13 cm ones.
@@Daz_sz I solved the problem by other way. If you're interested, here is the video : ruclips.net/video/5bhudJm1PjI/видео.html&ab_channel=%D0%90%D0%BB%D0%B5%D0%BA%D1%81%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B4%D1%80%D0%93%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%BD%D1%91%D0%B2
Really what a horrible speakers renault put in Renault egane 2 ? . I had 22 years old car but i think even those speakers would be better + from renault all were damaged . But i found in my old 22 years old car someone before put in car 2 new speakers i guess from 2005-2010 Sony Xplod so i changed my front in renault with them and damn sound is amazing . Well i will need change in backdoors too but its cheap to buy them . + Radio isnt best that original from renult but i have good radio that i will change soon but only minus is that radio cant connect steering wheel command for volume :( i love using it from steering wheel but maybe i will need buy some cable to split it so i will be able fit radio + command . Any idea what buy for cheap to be able use command on my radio ? Thanks
Hi, I'm trying to do this myself but still in the shopping stage. Do you know if the door speakers are full range coaxial speakers or are they handling only the lower frequencies? I've only just realised that there are top mounted dash tweeters so i don't know if they should be replaced also or even just disconnected? Is there a crossover at play?
So do the replacements sound fine along with the dash tweeters? I'm assuming the tweets of your new speakers are much better than the dash ones anyway. I'm doing it super cheap so not really interested in component speakers and crossovers.
Shrikey the megane 2 is equipped with a socalled Composet, meaning the high and mid/low are seperate. You can replace it with 3way speakers but it wont sound the same because of the double presence of tweeters unless you disconnect the factory ones in the dash. Ive found the Alpine SXE-1350S to be a good budget replacement
Ahh so the main door speakers have a crossover on them? I listened to the main doors with the dash tweeters disconnected and i could hear some highs but they were very recessed and unclear. I thought that it was probably full spectrum, but just terrible quality in the upper frequencies. The alpine speakers are a bit more than i want to spend but they look like the proper solution for the job. Thanks for the info! This looks like a fairly useful photoset of the process www.drive2.ru/l/3985666/
The alpines came with a connector adapter so it was just a matter of old ones out and new ones in. I left the stock tweeters in the dash since they work fine and tbh the sound improved...more bass and clearer tones.
@@MrSjizzo Hi, does this mean that no soldering is needed? Also, can I just replace the door speakers (woofers) from the SXE-1350S and leave the OEM tweeters, will that impact the performance?
Milos Balunovic thank you for replay, one more question is about the connectors for the speakers and the car. It's different than usual. It has 3 pins. I have at home aftermarket ones with standard wires red and black. Do you know how to connect them to the car plug?
