"Rose, that stops it turning into pure death..." epic Sir! :) l love your comments a lot, it helped me to make my move on Rien, lm purchasing a bottle, its about time.thank you sir :)
So happy to see you covering this one. Several years ago I ordered Fat Electrician and Tom of Finland and received a sample of Rien. I tried it and used all 2MLs. I immediately bought a 30ML bottle. Brother, it was the first time I bought a bottle based on an unsolicited sample.
@@RichMitch I never made that correlation between the two but there's something to the similarity. There's a deep (not intense) sweetness they share along with a darkness.
@@RichMitch almost all of them as I bought the almost complete collection sample pack. I own a bunch of full bottles including a 50ml of secretions magnifique. My favorites are the Riens, TAOAF, Marquis de Sade, Eloige du traitre, and Charogne. I also like their Cologne as I like traditional colognes and eaux quite a bit. Cologne is Etat's modern take on a traditional cologne.
Nice. I like fat electrician, though it's similar to body kouros imo, and Tom of Finland. I only own rien though, make of that what you will. I know @Aetherealist loved his bottle of cologne too
@@RichMitch I get you, it's only intense on a flat incense it doesn't amp the unaccompanied facets which make Rien so intriguing. On another note....I did rather enjoy Une Amourette when I was searching for a soft leather.
I love Rien, so much that I have 4 bottles. Two of Rien and two of Rien Intense Incense. My goodness I’ve been obsessed with Rien. Only I don’t think it’s beastly. In fact I have to spray it a dozen times. This is the regular Rien, not the Intense. That one I only need a few sprays of. I bought my first bottles about 15 months ago. Maybe they reformulated it, coz no way is it anywhere near as beastly as reviewers claim. No way no how. Like I said I need about 15 sprays. Then again maybe I’ve become anosmic. I need to spray it when I first wake up coz that’s when my sense of smell is clean and I can smell it’s entire strength so I’ll have to get back to u after I spray it in the morning……
Great review. Question: does this smell like Chopard's Black Incense Malaki? I love the industrial, ''underground station'' smell to that one but I wished there was more incense.
@@RichMitch Ah, understood. Morillas is my favourite perfumer. The GGA definitely reminds me of the Black Incense Malaki, another Morillas work. You get strong incense in the Rien though, yeah?
Superb analogies Rich. I don't think I've ever gotten on with more than 2 fragrances from the brand. They're just not my cup of bodily fluids. Oh no, wait, I was thinking of something else.
I’m going down London next weekend so will sample this in Les Senteurs, you described it beautifully. I don’t think it’s my kind of scent to wear, but based on your review I’ve just got to smell it 😍

Yes! I've only ever done that a couple of times, it's great when it happens.
Do you think fat electrician smells like body kouros?
@@RichMitch I never made that correlation between the two but there's something to the similarity. There's a deep (not intense) sweetness they share along with a darkness.
Benzoin in fat electrician?
Interesting. Maybe I should sniff the fat electrician again, just to see if I'm wrong
This was the first "different" perfume I ever got...I had no idea what to make of it at first! You've described it perfectly!
It's bonkers lol
I hadn't worn this for ages, and just put a little on my wrist to remind me...good god!!!
You'll be wearing that all day... and possibly tomorrow
Really fascinated by this one. On my try list and will order a sample sometime this year. Great review and description Rich.
It's very different, I hope you enjoy it. Thank you, professor
I own both Rien and the Intense version. I like them both.
But which do you prefer
I've been so close to getting this lately, I think that comparison to Gucci Guilty Absolute did it for me, I love that stuff.
It's similar but different, not as dry
Thank you for this Mitch. This one is a “love” for me.
Not quite a love for me but good like
I love this and Rien II, my favorite from the house is The Afternoon of a Faun.
Which others have you tried?

This one has always intrigued me. I might have to get a bottle now to satiate my curiosity.
It's very good but not for the feint of heart
Just found your channel and I’ve been binging. Great content and great taste in fragrance! This Rien sounds like an interesting one.
Welcome and thank you! I hope you enjoy.
Rien is very different, tough but rewarding imo 🤌🏻
Always get asked when I'm wearing this.....tempted to say 'Nothing!' You're spot on in your description.....and they even do an intense nothing!
Nothing intense isn't quite so mad, imo. I'd have to try it again but I remember it being less *bold*
@@RichMitch I get you, it's only intense on a flat incense it doesn't amp the unaccompanied facets which make Rien so intriguing. On another note....I did rather enjoy Une Amourette when I was searching for a soft leather.
@@LEgoiste what's that?
@@RichMitch It's another ELDO... Roland Mouret Une Amourette.
@@LEgoiste outrageous, they've actually got a huge catalogue
Love the scent but on my Black tatted skin it's gone in 2 hours, the incense intense gives me about 5 hours but goes very linear !!!
That's interesting and I've never thought of it before... I wonder if tattoos affect skin chemistry re perfumes 🤔
FANTASTIC REVIEW 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I definitely think you're anosmic to it lol, I've never smelled a version that wasn't absolutely massive!
Fantastic scent! Also Rien Intense Incense is worth checking out :)
Cheers mate
My favorite one from this house is Une Amourette a great patchouli.
I think someone else mentioned it too 🤔
this stuff is STRONG and doesn't just kick you in the face-- it HEADBUTTS YOU IN THE NOSE 👺 I smell incense and TAR nuclear stuff
It doesn't mess around. The incense is so strong in it!
i have to get my hands on this

Got it Love it😎
Thanks for the video
Cheers mate!
Love this house.
They do some really good stuff at very decent prices
Taday!!!! Wonderful!!!
Marvellous!
Bandages lit on fire? Cream of leather soup? Damn, now I wish I’d bought the 100 ml.

I'm not too familiar with the chopard but I'd suggest Gucci guilty absolute or Lonestar Memories if you want something similar

"Cream of leather" soup. Hmmm sounds delicious 😋 Are you catching this Jeremy Hinze, you heard it here first! 👀😂
I've had worse soup, to be fair.

Oui oui
Its awesome!
It is!
With your description of this fragrance, you completely talked me out of buying a bottle.
🤣🤣🤣
I am pleased to have helped you avoid a purchase you would regret
I am down to the last few drops of my bottle (thanks, missus), so need to get another.
Mrs wears it? *bold*
@@RichMitch Her initial impression was 'don't you dare buy that shit', but I defied her, and now it's almost her signature scent.
Outrageous. It happens so often though... provokes a strong reaction, usually negative. Then, over time, becomes a favourite. Happened to me with Amen
