Yeah they F'd up the story on this game for me as well. I was afraid for the story after i saw the 1st trailer. Game play and graphics are amazing though.....

originally I was so upset with the ending. How could Ellie have gone through so much? but the longer I sit with it, the more perfect the ending is. It's bitter sweet, but there is hope there for her and for Abby. I loved Joel, but I learned to love Abby too. And I learned to keep loving my Ellie even though she was making so many bad and difficult decisions. This game was so emotionally taxing, and this series was the first real video games I ever played. And now I am ruined because nothing else can compete. Such a beautiful story and beautiful music. Just finished my third run on TLOU2. I gotta say, it still hurts. But i needed to understand all of this. Why Ellie pushed that far. Why Tommy became so bitter. Why Abby has another chance ? And to this point i only reach two theories for the future. The 1st one would be the easy path, meeting and playing a new character almost 15 years since TLOU2. A brand new arc with exclusively new characters and almost no known faces except for the end to tie in the last two games. The 2nd one would show us some light. Again 15 years into the future, playing an older Ellie and Abby. The two of them meeting for the first time since forever. Lev would already be dead, leaving Abby angry and sad, finally understanding Ellie. But even though they hate each other, they would be forced to cowork together to face the biggest threat they could imagine.Very slowly understanding each other, protecting each other, caring for each other to the point they don't want to be alone anymore. And for the big finish, as Ellie is after a lifetime of survival, about to die, the duo discovers a couple of other survivors, both immuned to the cordiceps. Even in lies, Joel was right. And Ellie can die with a smile on her face, her skin doesn't hurt her anymore. As she burries Ellie, Abby promise she will take the immuned duo to a place where they can help saving the world, restoring Ellie meaning of life. The Last of Us will stay in my heart forever. The characters, their stories, they live with me. Now all of this is purely nonsense i know. But since i finished this game, i'm in the dark. I need a light. I need a firefly.

I was never shook up more over a video game character than when Joel Miller was killed. It was like a family member died. So weird and strange. I still can’t believe that happened to him
The first game was amazing but the second one...it was beyond all my expectations, a masterpiece. The soundtrack is just something else to me. It's definitely what's keeping me alive while writing my honors thesis.
In my opinion the second game remains as the inferior, but I respect your opinion because I’m not toxic. I admit, part II has its elements, but it’ll never overcome the beauty and emotion of part I

Yes last of us 2 may divided the whole community but what we can all agree on is that Gustavo Santaolalla was an amazing composer for both last of us games.
And Joel's still a badass so I don't wanna hear it. I had a special bond with his mf and I don't wanna hear abt how Joel's death was realistic but hell no he had a survival rule to not trust strangers . They nerfed my boy. Rip Joel Miller
But if he'd gone out saving Ellie it wouldn't be as human. It would have looked like a Hollywood movie where everyone's a hero. Sometimes people just die, and though we all loved Joel, he earned what he got. Though its tragic, I think he died an almost perfect death for exactly what he was.
