I can see how people can easily misunderstand the situation but unless you've successfully raised bearded dragons straight from the egg for years like this guy, then your judgement is invalid. And FYI, they cannot be tamed, especially babies, without physical interaction. The breeder was merely poking him, and not to mention, gently, just so it can learn that the hands of his breeder is nothing to be afraid of.

That's hilarious to me, considering I've owned two myself, handled plenty more, taught many people how to handle their dragons, personally rehabilitated three dragons from terrible conditions(money breeders who didn't give a shit), and have talked to many many MANY extremely knowledgeable individuals. People who know exactly what they're doing. Who are you, compared to them? Are you an expert like them? Or are you just uncomfortable with his methods and decide that that's it, it's torture?
+Hulk why do you suggest I'm irritated? I'm telling you at least that first bearded dragon is terrified. watch the video again. from the start. All the way through and tell me different.
Everybody in the comments make me sick, "YOUR TORTURING IT!!!! IT DOES. NOT WANT TO BE. PETTED." Well whoever says this probably does not a pet. If you are caring a a living thing, you must tell it that your not going to hurt it, and that you really love it. I bet this dragon will grow up to love people.
@@TM-ve7vt I guess when human babies cry when their parents are holding them, we should just leave them alone until they die of thirst? Or when a kid cries because they don't wanna go to school, just leave em at home! Better to give the guy his space than properly socialize/take care of him, right? Don't want to be annoying them, that'd be the worst. This is a necessary socialization process so the forever parents of these beardies don't end up with a feral reptile on their hands.
This is a message to all those that believe that he is " torturing" the pets he cares for in his very home. How the FUCK is rubbing the nose of a baby bearded dragon a fucking crime. How the fuck is" you are a killer" a insult of any form or in any way. "He drops the lizard". The lizard was not comfortable because in the very video you see right there he clearly states that those are newborns. You can't expect them to be comfortable already man. Talking about some" oh you don't know how to take care of pets". Animal cruelty is verbal, physical and emotional abuse, which was not seen in the video. It is also pet abandonment and endangerment, which was not seen in the video.
Anybody who thinks he does not know how to take care of a bearded dragon, just shut the fuck up. If you wanna see people fucking with their bearded dragons go look up Funny Bearded Dragon on RUclips and you can go comment away on those videos.
You're actually supposed to do this and allow them to bite you, because it teaches them that biting you doesn't really do anything, making it pointless for them as a response to anything you do with them.
Okay, to everyone in the comments saying it's abusive that he antagonizes the baby lizard, it's really not. Sure he could've and probably should've handled it better, but he didn't deliberately hurt the hatchling. More likely than not this was to check motor functions and level of aggression. Most young of any lizard, reptile, mammal, or whatever animal you breed, should be checked for motor skills and ability to recognize handlers. He didn't need to antagonize them to check this, sure. But he did. It happened. The hatchling is no worse for wear. Get over it. He was most likely just making his rounds with the babies and noticed that these two were behaving in an aggressive manner and thought it was cute. Maybe he shouldn't have picked them up while they were acting aggressive, I don't know, I don't breed bearded dragons professionally. If you want to know if he shouldn't have, check with your local exotic veterinarian or a professional reptile breeder, but he wasn't harming the babies. He refused to intentionally drop them or leave them loose in a potentially dangerous environment. He merely antagonized them, no more so than if you poked your puppy's nose so that they started to chew/gnaw your finger. So to everyone saying he abused the baby lizard, go poke a puppy's nose so it chews/bites/gnaws your finger, and tell me that's abuse.
Oh my god. I just CAN'T! This stupid RUclipsr makes videos TOO CUTE! He talks to them like they are his babies, no, THEY ARE his babies! CUTE LITTLE TINY SCALEY DRAGON BABIES!!

is the poking and petting thing a socialization thing?? I can't really tell, but is that a way to kinda get them used to human interaction? Might help clear up some of people's rude comments if this is true. (I don't like reading through troll comments, so if you already answered this, I didn't read it because people suck)
+Alice It's a sort of provoking yes. The provoking makes them first SEE the hand as a threat, but only then, an animal can distinguish if that "threat" is actually worth of a threat or not. When there's suddenly a hand bigger than yourself, anything gets threatened to that. But when you realize it's not harming you in any way, then the easier you're ignoring or getting used to it.
+Alice The petting is 100% a socialization thing. The more you handle a Beardie from the time it's born will depict how ''snuggly'' it will be as an adult. Although, the way the lizard is tensing up and turning to it's side is likely do to him petting it in the wrong direction (or the ''poking''). Notice: 1:51 in the video. The backwards petting of any reptile causes discomfort. You can't press down and pet/rub their scales in the opposite direction they grow. It's like catching your fingernail to the point it gets pulled back some. I'm sure that doesn't even compare. Anyway, cats don't even like backwards petting (it pulls on their fur). All reptiles like being pet or rubbed nose to tail. There's no exception for direction. That is all.
@@argusbargus4301 ya pretty much but on these little babie berdies the scales are so small its almost like smooth. And the poking he probably didnt like but it wont hirt him none. Is it sad that, the first thing I note of people complaining is how bad their spelling is? Or is it just me? Or have solid evidence of anything to back up their claims of bad breeding? Or raising for that matter? As a person who loves lizards and arachnids there are good and bad people. And in this case this is a very well set up process where the Bearded dragon can be at ease to human contact. Allowing the creature in captivity to be handled and cared for as needed in my opinion. It's a well set up planning for those who never handled these types of lizards to not feel intimidated by their pet.

Not sure if I will get a reply, but I came on your video because I have had my baby bearded dragon for nearly two weeks, she is 8 months old, and when I was holding her a couple days ago, she was fine, just sat on my hand. When I tried to pick her up the next day, she ran off, like she was scared of me even though she has been fine the days before. Before I started watching this video, I was holding her , she was fine and the she randomly bit me on my finger, quite hard. Because the cage was open, she then ran in and went under her hide. I'm really confused at what I'm doing wrong and I'm worried about her , do you have any advice? Also, forgot to mention, she scratches at the side of the cage. She has loads of things in the cage, hides, a hammock, plants.... She just seems stressed but I don't know why 🤔
Jade x If she is acting shy take out their hide during the day time so she gets used to you and her surrounding. I would also advise interacting with her quite a bit but not too much because then she will become stressed out.

I one day hope to get a bearded dragon, or a gecko, either one. But I dare not do it till I know absolutely everything about them. I had to research before I got my kitties and puppies.
Awe, he IS so fiesty. ha ha What cute babies! So glad you save these babies. The world is so big and dangerous. There's a lot of cruel people out there.
Funny how a lot of the comments are about the "torture", he's not hurting the babies and its 100% clear to me that he loves those little cuties...a lot. Great video!
That little hiss was too cute!!!
I know this is old but i been binging on your videos thinking back to when I had my dragons. I just wanna say you're such a loving person to these dragons. If ever I get bearded dragons or any lizard again, I'll think of how wonderful you treated yours. ❤
Love your videos dude! Your a great owner and breeder!
Two days old and they're already rebels 😂
Ok I love how u spend time with all of them individually
