You can't deny that most white boys of this day and age are kind of rude. Not because of their gender and race or anything, but white parents seem to be a lot less strict than Asian or Latino parents.
I think it’s because white men have been and are put on a pedestal in society (at least American society). So I guess she is aiming to make sure that they grow up to value equality. Because of the privilege that comes with being a man and white (not to say that white men cannot suffer or struggle).

@@yvonnesolomon3357 Well being a Mexican woman, I have felt put down. I think it aligns more so with being a woman honestly. Because I have experienced and seen some gross examples of racism towards Mexicans (but never exactly been yelled at or something like that). I do agree her choice of words was her trying to like cater to the audience and overall weird. But her intentions with raising her kid to respect others makes sense. But I can understand where it is coming from once again, because when we look at all of the different gender and race combinations. The one that has never had to fight for rights or to be heard is the white male population. Fr like all kids should learn these concepts (especially consent because it’s important for starting school, it’s learning not to touch friends when they ask not to be touched, learning it’s okay to say they don’t want to be touched rn - the amount of children I’ve had to “yell” at because they repeatedly ignored their friends request to stop poking them or whatever is insane). It doesn’t matter what gender, religion, race, the child is they still all need to be taught to be good people. Being a good person is a learned skill, it doesn’t automatically occur in any girl or nonwhite person
I mean yeah, but I learned consent from socializing with my peers and seeing my parent's behaviors. It's cool to read about it but it doesn't stick as well as seeing and practicing it firsthand. Especially since all they'll be seeing is the pictures and not the words. And probably will be distracted when you read it to em.

I assume not, as it would have been common sense, that it would be harmful, similarly, consent is also a part of common sense, which is developed by the child/person thinking rationally and logically about things they perceive. Yeah, sometimes it's really not about if the parent is good or not, it's mostly their friends, teachers, and even any information that they could learn about from TV or else Teaching the child about all of this nice things may just help them to question themself when confronted to someone with a different education, try to understand why do they think like that- but learning about consent, being free of stereotypes, and equality of sex is certainly a lot more natural to assimilate than hating on some groups of people So, maybe this baby will turn out horrible, who knows, but he still has more probabilities to become an accepting and open minded person with this education

The baby needs to know how to function and a human before they can learn harder concepts. All these books teach are things that a kid will learn as they grow up. Kids learn by example. Sure the books might help, but the don't teach everything to prevent a "awful white male" which is a problematic statement in itself. Books on race, sexuality, consent, gender roles, etc. are books they should be exposed to at a time when children can understand the concepts. Until that point, the best way to teach the child is to lead by example to prevent her child from becoming "awful".

I think she’s a good parent. Parenting is different for each and every child and the parent. And I feel there is no harm in doing all of these things. It will definitely make the child grow into a beautiful human being.

@@garrettchapman8170 I don't think kids are ever really too young to learn about consent. I work at a daycare and teach kids consent by saying things like "that's not yours to touch" when a kid tries to steal my water bottle or by teaching kids about asking to share toys before taking them.
Everybody raise their kids different. From the look of the literature she has, she at least plans to raise him to respect others genders and not subscribe to specific gender roles. I don’t see how that’s hurting anybody.

@@garrettchapman8170 I don't think kids are ever really too young to learn about consent. I work at a daycare and teach kids consent by saying things like "that's not yours to touch" when a kid tries to steal my water bottle or by teaching kids about asking to share toys before taking them.
