That was amazing. I like how the captain periodically leans forward to get a better look at where he must turn to line up with the runway and how calm he is throughout the descent and touchdown.

Very hard job doing a landing in Funchal with variable crosswind but Captain you did it very well... those winds always make the pilot flying work. Must be in Madeira to know that. Congratulations 👍

That is why pilots earn so much they are highly skilled experts of aviation. I think that came close to a go around !

I also like how the steering wheel in the co-pilot seat moves all around but he or she doesn't touch it.

Gradient winds are the problem here and the topography.....great landing with stablised approach from 500ft.

Is this normal on the 737 to move the yoke that much for correction? Or that's a bit over controlling? Just curious

After spending 20 years in the 737, I can assure you that much "Monkey Motion" is wholely unnecessary. Just look at what preceeds one of his big inputs. Nothing!

Like a Michael Jordan only in a bird with 100's of lives at stake
Brilliant! Even with all the AP until the last bit, in the end it is the talent and experience of the pilot in all conditions to stick that bird on the centerline. And there are countless videos of those.

In slow flight for landing the flight controls surfaces are not very effective due to less air flowing over them. This requires large deflections of the contols to get small changes in direction.

Please relocate your camera. That view of the window bar is not very informative, or appealing. Thanks.
