Very clear and informative on how to install it, but no verdict? What about the "Really worth it?" I assumed this was going to be a report on experience using it, based on the title.
🫣 good point. It actually depends what you want the upgrade for. If you are looking for a louder hub i would say that its not worth it but if you re looking for a smaller engagement angle because you re climbing a lot then i think it does make sense. Hope this helps 🤜🤛

Is it louder? I’m using same wheels with 36t ratchet and I am not satisfied with this silent hub. You said need to use less grease but but I didn't notice any improvement after grease remove. Is it really louder after put 54t ? It is sounds so in the video.
If you want your hub louder, than use 15w40 or thinner to grese your ratchet. Maybe a tiny amount of Mos2 in that oil will extend the life of the ratchets and the greasing intervall. But DT Swiss says NO No...
No discussion of performance or feel or durability. Just sound. Cool story kid 👌 well done 👏
Thanks kiddo 🫶
You completely ignored DT Swiss' explicit instructions on how to apply the grease, which are even printed on the grease container itself.
😬🫣
lol.
You know what sounds better than 54t rachet?

😂😂😂 not sure if thats a like or a diss but 🫶
You ask "Is it really better?" in the video, and "Really worth it?" in the headline, and you answered neither question, lol.
Hahahahahaha true. After riding them for a while I would say its not except if you need the smaller engagement angle. 🫶
i got ztto 54 ratche from aliexpres ,30euros! works perfectly!!!
Dope price 🤌

And what's your experience? Was it worth it? How is the general wear on the 54T?
Of you re climbing a lot it might be worth it. Otherwise i think the 36t is good enough.
The difference in price is not significant between 36 and 54 sometimes now, is it worth it to go 54 from 18? Thanks!
From yes i would go up. But to 54 only if you do lots of hills and need the small engagement angle. Otherwise i would say 36 is good enough.
I use the 60t from AliExpress.
No problems thus far. Happy days.
What? I didnt know they have ratchets as well. Amazing. Thanks for letting me know 🤜🤛

Moin!

I like my 36, & if it doesn't wear well I'll go to 24T for road.
I agree that 36 is enough but was worth it for this experiment. 🤜🤛
So, what's the answer to "Really worth it?" ?
You bought a new one, purely for the sound check?

No need to remove the end cap.

Is it really better, though? Is the smaller engagement angle noticeable?
It's noticible in mountain biking or when doing a trackstand on a red light

Yes and yes. But it's not like you're gonna be leagues better than a 36tooth. It's just nice to have.

I have to say it is minimally louder. I would say not worth the money if you mainly want to update for sound.

thanks, watched the video and didn't notice any considerable difference. Definitely not the one that would worth the price of the upgrade kit
