We have prototyped out a "Jumbo Fox" with a coin pouch several years ago. At the time it felt like our audience wasn't interested. Today I've had a few requests for it so I will have to look into that option again
If you had dublin on a boot, would you still wax the boots to protect it? Interested in how to keep water from killing it without making it shine and keeping the nice natural matte luster.
Great question. Honestly I would just wear it. The leather is properly tanned and well nourished with fats. If the leather dries out I suggest the Tanners blend to condition it. I wouldn't worry about protection. You can get the luster back on the Dublin rather easily because of the wax finish. Just let the boots dry and polish up like normal. I'd start with just a horsehair brush.
@@AshlandLeather Ok ill skip the wax. I did put a little saphir leather balm to start and to soften it up to break in. Dublin is a little stiff to start but i also feel like it can take a knife and not even blink.
I suppose it depends on what type of dirt is on it. Typically just brushing is great for Dublin. Send me some photos of what you are trying to improve? I can give specific guidance. Phil@ashlandleather.com
Also the natural dublin is a beautiful orange gold tan. Reminds me of the classic baseball glove leather. Really warm and natural.
I’m really into the look of the Dublin leather, but I was wondering if you could make a wallet with a coin case??
