    Thank you for posting this! Love your attitude. You don't have to be an expert to help others, and you've proven that with this video. I've been working on cars for years, and was struggling to find the pcv value on my civic, and here you are with all the info I needed to answer my questions. Keep being AWESOME!

    Thanks very much for putting in the effort to make this video. Had the same problem with the valve being stuck, so I bought a wrecking tool as per example in the video. I'm very glad I watched this video as I have the exact same car. Keep it up, gorgeous!

    Thanks! Very helpful video. I am having RPM issues and just learned that I can clean my IAC valve and that could help. While I’m at it I figured it wouldn’t hurt to replace my PCV valve. 92 Civic LX

      Yes cleaning the idle air control valve should help with that or replacing it if it’s too bad off. I hope that solves the problem 😊 thanks for watching

    Question for all: How many mile can a 99 Civic engine last if it’s pretty well taken care of?

  • @Rick-nq3mz
    @Rick-nq3mz 3 года назад +2

    If you rub a little oil around the PCV it slides in a little better and seats all the way down. Those grommets get dry and brittle

      @@NotamechanicBetty You can still remove it and put some oil on it... and put it back if you haven't already...

    • @MikeKollin

      Any chance you have removed a breather box to clean it and then put it back?
      i have a 95 Del Sol Civic. The engine looks almost exactly like her engine... just want to know if I just bolt it back on or if I have to put a layer around the entire box of sealant? My side mechanic doesn't want to remove it because he thinks you have to put a sealant on it before putting it back. And i saw a video of a 2010 or so Honda where a guy did this. I am not sure if i have to though...At honda the parts guy says I don't havre to do that, just put the O Ring Seal on then tighten up the bolt / screw etc... so I don't know... ugh!

    For my 95 civic autozone shows me a pcv valve that is straight. Bot at an angle like the original. Will it still work ? Any difference?

    • @NotamechanicBetty
      @NotamechanicBetty  3 месяца назад

      I know I ordered one online and got one from Autozone and they were different from each other I think it should work as long as it fits in place the same but you know…I’m not a Mechanic.

    Thank you! I’m going to give this a shot and maybe clean out my EGR valve. I’ve got a rough idle when my engine is warm on a ‘95 with the D16Z6 motor. I’ve changed/flushed the coolant and filled it (low) and my system seems okay. Nice easy fixes!

      Any chance you have removed your Breather box and cleaned it and put it back? I have a question about it!

    • @petah00
      @petah00 3 года назад

      @@MikeKollin Hi Mike! I never actually took out my breather box. Turns out I most likely just needed new wires + plugs, did the distributor cap too for good measure (tough screw!). I did however change the PCV and the old one seemed to be operable with some soot around it.
      I probably should check that breather box! I'd ask your question here anyhow; there's some smart people who can answer.

    • @MikeKollin
      @MikeKollin 3 года назад +1

      @@petah00 Yes, I replaced all of that... including pcv valve... the car is running strong, I mean really strong. Just cleaned the Map Sensor and Throttle body! Holy Shyt!! hahahaha... Lot more Power and immediate response and way way way better Gas Mileage... I bought the lower connector tube and all the parts to connect to the Breather Box so I figured why not clean out the Breather box... no worries. I did find 1 video where he at least shows the breather box from underneath the car. He took of some support thing and only 2 bolts to take it off. And just have to buy the O Ring to seal it, which I already have! Now just got to get it done! 🔥

  • @MikeKollin
    @MikeKollin 3 года назад

    Any chance you have a video on how to take off a Breather box?
    I have a 95 Del Sol S type. And I am not sure if you have to completely clean off the engine and breather box,
    then put a sealant material all the way around the entire box before putting it back onto the engine. Or if it' just a
    bolt to connect it back. There's no video's on this...

    • @NotamechanicBetty
      @NotamechanicBetty  3 года назад +1

      Unfortunately My Honda is in another state so I can’t put my eyes on it at the moment but from the research online I’ve done, it should unbolt from under the vehicle and there should be an o ring to seal it. I hope this helps

    • @MikeKollin
      @MikeKollin 3 года назад

      @@NotamechanicBetty Okay, Thanks... I am sure it's pretty easy. I found 1 video where he doesn't show but says he had to take off a supporting bracket to get to it... other than that it's 2 bolts...
      He has a civic. I have a del sol, ,so they are a little different. He has a 2nd PVC Valve connected to the Breather Box, which I've never seen. So I don't think I have a 2nd one. Either way, no worries and thanks!
