I worked as a kitchen steward for a boy scout camp, I found the long-drawn-out "goooooood" as a way to get me into the zone of announcing the meals. Often times I would have just gotten off of a stressful rush to get the meal there reasonably on time and we're there throwing everything together last second. Yelling that "gooooood" really helped to release my nerves and put on a good face even when I was facing a bunch of kids (and worst of all parents) who were waiting on late food.

I was NOT prepared, I smoked a joint before I came into the station, I was live to all my class friends and family and it was SHOWTIME. Dude, I wouldn’t have traded it for the world, incredible experience. I really want to go back to the station. Theres so much more for me to do and I feel like I can still shine.
While working on a 3" 50 twin electric mount, our boom box was playing as usual and I began to focus on what the AFVN Dj was saying. I wish I had a copy of the whole line of B.S. The part I heard was "----- So friends, join the Foreign Legion, make the desert a safe place for camels." The D.Js kept our blood pumping with Hendrix, the Animals, the Doors etc. Food for the soul.
Waking up, and waking up others lol. I love this explanation. I was a college DJ. I like the stall tactic. Glad we could pre-record by that time. Knew a lot of OGs tho. Still had to go on live, just not in the morning lol.

I met Adrian Cronauer in 2001 when he attended an armed forces concert in San Antonio, along with Vicky Carr, and Bill Curtis, who was the emcee. I actually had his and Carr’s autographs, Curtis snuck away. eventually I lost the autographs. 😌
