    As I said on one of your other videos, I bought my Vixen (long in sub-12 .22) a month ago and it had the alloy handrail installed already. Hopefully AGT have listened to the feedback and that's why mine had the alloy one.

    Rifle looks great, i love that wrap❤ Im really happy you have not gotten rid o f your Vixen, the rifle is perfect with the alloy handrail ❤
    I sent AGT email regarding the crap handrail reminding them the rifle is not worthy of shooting live quarry due to accuracy is greatly compromised with the said plastic crap! I too was on the brink of selling my Vixen, i too bought mine when they came out, first lot Pellpax had in, thankfully i listened to the guys on the Vixen group and i too pulled the trigger on the alloy rail, and like you, from being rather disappointed to being delighted with the Vixen, i will never part with mine EVER👍
    Still you will end up buying another rifle, its an itch you will keep wanting to scratch 😅
    Gotta say you have The Revere and Vixen both absolute lasers and utter reliable.

    Yeah I own a vixen short 177 and Iv customised her built my own internals in the silencer and other stuff, I think it’s a pisstake they supplied it with that 💩 rail too. That’s the only thing I need to get as of yet, great video. I’ll put mine up on my RUclips channel soon and show you what Iv done. Iv also subscribed 🙏

      Yes the plastic hand rail on such a good air rifle is mind blowing I get that that did it to cost cut and keep the gun at entry level but it’s bad and causes accuracy issues big time! I’ll be sure to subscribe to your channel nice one mate.

      Dr gunsmith, do you mine shearing what kind of internals and silencer you put in? I have a long vixen 22. It’s fantastic but I need to keep it quiet like a whisper 😂 🤫 you know what I mean !, please let me know. Thanks

    Unfortunately, there are many rifles that come out with design or build issues. You can watch some of the howlers that sub12airgunners have found. My PX5 had to be completely stripped down to solve all the air leaks and then wished I hadn't with what else I found whilst taking it apart 🤣. Glad you got the vixen sorted mate 👍👍.

    Hi Denny, glad you are very happy with the rail. I use a bipod on a extended picatiny rail so dont touch the plastic rail so have no POI but after seeing your liken i will most likely get one. i will wait to see your detailed review of the rail because i do not want one if it has the raised ridges like the plastic.

      @@garymurphy5133 I can categorically say the alloy rail has no ridges and prevents any POI shift 👍 I like many 1000s of others have experienced POI shift and bought the alloy rail problem solved 👍

    I agree about the plastic handrail but pleased there is an available upgrade.
    P.S. Thinking of getting a Vixen but what is this POI issue we need to know about ? Have you a vid explaining it ?

    • @Ratsinthereticles
      @Ratsinthereticles  2 месяца назад

      Hi nearly all my vixen videos explain it! The plastic hand rail moved the shroud and touched the barrow thus POI soon as you upgrade the hand rail to an alloy one it stops! AGT didn’t think this through and left all vixen owners scratching their heads as they are one of the most accurate pcp air rifles and best in my opinion. Thanks for watching.

    • @Ratsinthereticles
      @Ratsinthereticles  День назад

      No worries you just turn the whole shroud anticlockwise until it comes off the M14 thread and slide it off you don’t need to remove the shroud to change the handrail.

    I was about to purchase a vixen , had it in my hand and amazed at how light it felt but it also felt ‘cheap’ .. a plastic rail ? Seriously ??? Then a load of hassle to fit a silencer too ? So I looked at a ghost , okay it’s a lot heavier but hard case , the feel of quality … it was a no brainer which to purchase and that’s a pity as the vixen looking at reports is a very good accurate gun let down by a few little things easily within AGT’s scope to change .. what would an alloy rail cost them ? A hard case ? A standard 1/2” silencer adapter ? Yet just these little things would put it into a serious contender instead of passing them onto the consumer 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @Ratsinthereticles
      @Ratsinthereticles  10 дней назад +1

      I hear your points and frustration mate but the ghosts got a big plastic rear stock that you will defiantly change at some point if not before it breaks! I do love the ghost I would buy one in a heartbeat best of luck and thanks for watching and commenting.

    • @stevedavies-pp7dp
      @stevedavies-pp7dp 10 дней назад +1

      @ I’m not saying the ghost is perfect , but I am saying AGT have the basics of a really nice gun , okay a larger bottle would be nice but it’s laser beam accurate , light , looks great etc but they aren’t pricing it in the Walmart section … once you go over the £1000 four figure sum you are up against some serious contenders for your custom and I feel AGT aren’t doing themselves any favours making a silencer option a expense /hassle instead of a simple screw on exercise , a plastic hand rail ? Seriously ? What a huge let down and the first thing any prospective customer feels … so it’s accepted your into a couple of hundred £££ just to rectify those two things alone pushing the price of a vixen up into even more serious competition .. it’s nice they give you a branded soft bag however would it actually cost them much to have hard case made ( again another cost to the consumer ) and just those 3 things alone would elevate what is a great gun into something of , I know this thing shoots as good as a ghost, an FX , a krait , a BSA … but I just don’t ‘feel’ the quality 🤷🏻‍♂️ customer is king and he’s in the shop willing to spend money so you need to give him every reason to buy yours … not reasons that straight away he knows will cost him more … he may as well spend that extra on something already sorted …

    • @Ratsinthereticles

      I paid £1150 for my Daystate Revere in safari stock as I’m left handed and it’s an extra £100 for the wall nut in left handed stock so I’m punished for being left handed! So had to get the ambi Safari stock Also when the revere safari arrived it came in a cardboard box no silencer with 1 magazine mate! My point is we get ripped off by these companies and they forget if we stop buying there products they will not exist but they for get this! We can all find faults and not pick u til the cows come home! We just have to find what’s best and what we like in my opinion I own 2 of the best PCP Rifles out there today both have there pros and cons it’s what it is mate.

      @ my huntsman years ago was the same as I’m a lefty and the shop had to special order it at extra cost … but today I still feel as a customer … that’s what we all are at the end of the day , yeah sure RUclips and rifle ranges are full of opinions but company’s rely upon sales to pay wages and they have maybe 2 minutes of a customer looking at a gun before putting it down and moving on to the next one and what is going through their head is ‘ what will the full total cost of this be fully sorted ??? And AGT aren’t doing themselves any favours

    Someone's making a lot of money out of those ally rails. If they cost £20 to manufacture, I would be surprised. Not even a high initial mould cost because they already had the plastic one a template. I think airgun users are ripped off all the time. When you can buy a tin of 500 well made and accurate pellets for under £4 (which I have), £15 or more for any other is still a rip off to me. I won't even go in to the price of air rifles. I was next to a dealer who called a manufacturer up for a price of a new rifle I was interested in and I actually heard the price he was given. When he told me his price, I couldn't believe his mark up! From someone who used to be in retail with my own shop, I was still surprised 😮

      Hi thanks for watching.
      I agree with a lot you say yes it’s a tiny piece of alloy that’s powder coated in mat black paint! Probably cost a couple of quid to make with no safety testing etc!
      As for the cost of air guns there a lot or cost involved like materials, manufacturing, testing, safety testing, shipping costs etc so I get why there so expensive then you have other costs as where not in euro as well. Thanks mate

      Thanks for watching and subscribing!
      I would go for the vixen long in 22 the cylinder is 300 bar input about 290 in mine from my compressor and get around 150 shots before it starts dropping off reg the Airmaks krate is a fantastic piece of kit mate also! As is most of the eastern block guns.
