- This CK3 mod adds NEW START DATES! Those of you familiar with EU4 will recognise this but today we try to play as Granada in CK3 in order to perform a re-reconquista - essentially getting rid of the iberian struggle. This goes so well, it might as well be a CK3 guide as I take on Aragon, Castile and Portugal... all at once? Swearin fealty is the name of the game.

Europa Crusaders will be a game lasting 100 years day per day like hoi4 but in the last crusade so a ck3 game with hoi4 time and eu4 map

The way you could have avoided the constant King cycling in would have been joining and triggering a liberty faction when you know you could beat him. Assuming he doesn't just accept lower crown authority (which AI rarely does), victory will give you a hook on the king, letting you get your religious protection.

I know I am super late to comment on this video but I just wanted to make sure someone said it. The reason you were declared on when you had a truce with the king was because a war against tyranny (what all those wars were) considers you as the attacker and the tyrant as the defender. It’s also why in that war against Portugal it had a minus for “attack controls war target” cause the war target was his capital, cause it was considered a defensive war.

The foreign ruler holy war thing has been broken since launch. In my 1,000 hours I've never seen it happen.
I definitely have... I created a custom leader/nation that was Roman Hellenist and used holy war CB against the Pope to reclaim rome and the entirety of the HRE and France dunked on me lol

So in the most recent patch on PC they now will join defensive holy wars, still seems pretty rare though.
11:20 so Tyranny wars are technically you declaring on him, even though they initiate it, and that's why he didn't get any opinion maluses for truce breaking because technically he didn't i know it's weird and makes no sense but that's just how it is.
26:50 yup that's the war target their capital same reason as stated above they're considered the defender.
You managing to not only pull out off that siege, but also capture the king during it is some absolute bullshit luck.

Idk the actual odds, but I've won almost every war by capturing the king, if they weren't leading an army. It seems *almost* guaranteed to capture them

Complete unrelated but, Fun fact, the map of the baltic tribes are horribly innacurate, especially the bit that is around what is now Latvia and Lithuania, because the Kurši and Zemgaļi tribes controlled territory in both Latvia and Lithuania and contributed to creating both Latvians and Lithuanians. Also medieval historians thought that Zemgaļi (Semigallians) were half-gauls.

you click on the spouse you want (like you're trying to sway), there should be an option to do it. you can't do it with concubines though.

Laith I don't think you need a hook to ask for religious protection, just increase your taxes or levies to them and you should be able to get religious protection

Laith is kind of lucky the king of castile didn't immediately take his titles for being a heathen religion. Maybe you need some level of authority or a personality trait to do so without tyranny. I can't remember exactly, but think just being seen as an "evil" religion is good enough for a king to take titles from their subjects.
How many restarts did it take to capture the kings? Or was it console?

How do you make other empires appear fragmented like the start?
Either map mode or hotkey. I think the key would be said if you mouse over the mapmodes.
