  • In this interview, John Lennon and George Harrison discuss the different aspects of transcendental meditation and how it can be a tool in expanding consciousness, as well as allowing one to go about their daily life with a smoother sense of existence. They explore how this perceptual experience brings one beyond that of a relative experience, strengthening our own beliefs and allowing us to arrive at a state of serenity from within.

That one guy saying meditation was selfish. Tibetan monks do more to heal the world sitting around in thought than the rest of us do by going out and destroying everything and each other.

I practice TMI. It’s a meditative way of making others cringe.

John Allison, who spoke up from the audience about half way through, voices concern about apathy due to self-absorption in meditationi. Nothing is further from the truth, purpose, and effect of the Transcendental Meditation program., which is practiced as a preparation for activity, and for increase in dynamism. John Allison is not informed about the TM program, but the Beatles are. It is not a doctrine ofo universal lovoe, it is not a doctrine at all. The TM program allows for release of deep stresses, which allows for the experience of more love, and universal consciousness (and love). These effects of the TM technique are evidence-based, and John Allison's are not evidence-based, they are speculation. Maharishi came out to oppose the otherworldliness in India.
