if you sacrifice one cell per block and turn the cell opposite the entrance in to an exit, you would have a one way system in&out of each block suitable for the checkpoint use.
Something I've noticed is that the parole visitors need to go through the prison population to the parole room, instead of going through the outside area since there's no outside door, which may need to be fixed.

As for this series it is important you read this @OfficialStuffPlus I just wanted to give a heads up, but purchasing a new area does not generate islands. New islands have to be constructed by the player, you can place dirt/flooring on inaccessible area and it will be automatically be built without workers. This is how you make new islands. So regarding you not building docks because you dont know where the islands are, you can just set them up seeing as you have to build the islands yourself. (This is a repost to ensure it is seen)
I never really understood the purpose of showertime. It just forces them into the room with a lot of them not taking a shower because their need isn't high but then go during free time. I think you can do so much more with your schedule if you just skip showertime and let them shower whenever they want. Plus, especially high risk makes this risky for them to kick off. And I think your lockup doesn't really make sense because there are prisoners who just make it to the cell when it changes back to work. Edit: kind of the same with yard time btw
So the work/freetime regimes could replace some of these shower/yard times to some extend, just let prisoners choose what and when they want? Eat should be scheduled of course, but do they choose to sleep on their own when they get tired late at night?
Loving this series and the prison is looking great! I had a suggestion for the checkpoints, you could remove the outer two cells on each block then have checkpoints for in and out there. Then make a new cell in the current entrance, or have them both as exits then keep the current entrance. It would keep the scanning time down and they’d be scanned often, only down side I can think of is it requires a lot of guards. Keep up the good work!
I'm disappointed that they still haven't fixed the laundry problems. No matter if you let the staff or the prisoners do it, the need never gets fullfilled. I had a prison once where 20 prisoners worked the laundry but they just stood around making ropes and nothing else. Instead of new adding new (buggy) features they should invest time in some overhauls. Sry for the rant but the greatness of the game is hindered by problems like this.
If you create a STORAGE area near a big construction order, most of the supplies will magically appear in it. Saves time and frees the delivery route. If you have multiple storage area the supplies will be scattered among them.
I know it's a bit late to suggest this but in the canteen you can change out one side of the bathrooms with checkpoints going from right to left, this way they all funnel across 4 checkpoints to a 1 wide hallway to the exit. That way you have the one wing of bathrooms and the other wing be the exit.
I find 1 problem with island bound, the hearses keep going down the road when you make a separate the prison from the road. (When you have a dead inmate) so I'm stuck with mass morges on my island.
I think your one way corridor into the Canteen is not really working as intended. I noticed half of the inmates simply ignored the direction and used checkpoint free corridor after eating or entering the room. Maybe put back the checkpoint to ensure catching all contrabands
You could do what James said and sacrifice one cell per block OR sacrifice the inferior bathroom area on the kitchen to do even 3 checkpoints to get out I think these are your best options
Cloning takes a lot more money for some reason, because you pay for the clone AND for the objects/walls. I don't know why it's like that... My suggestion is to not clone, you will save a lot of money.
May I suggest putting windows in 50% of the cells, fancy beds in 15%, and bookshelves in 25%? I would say put windows in EVERY cell to be humane but then some prisoners wouldn't be eligible for any cells.

Pretty sure I saw some prisoners exiting the canteen via the one way in system. Thus avoiding the check points?
Maybe you can use checkpoints to the visitors as well you know some visitors might bring contraband though.

You need both check points otherwise the prisoners will go in and out the same way and bypass the checkpoint

I think it's a bit cheesy to change warden that way, but it's a good idea to do that for the loan because it's fixing a bug
