Mine only turns pink at the top couple inches, but I love the combo of green and pink! Very easy plant, even grows under low light and no ferts for me. I use it everywhere I can now, only bought it once lol.
I'm so glad I found your channel! Ive owned aquariums for about a year and have struggled a lot with plants and my aquascaping and so on. Rookie stuff you could say. In all three of my tanks I have the same plants with no really rhyme or reason. Recently I've wanted to change and have been looking for some plants. Finding all of your aquarium related videos was a god send. And you make me chuckle!! Thanks so so much and happy fishing 😁
Ow my fucking god.Why the fuck is this gem of a channel so fucking underrated and underappreciated. i feel like I found a gem mine by stumbling upon this channel
I bought those same scissors about a month ago. They are pretty nice. I still have a long set for getting to deep hard to get to places and a tiny spring loaded set for micro trimming. But those double curved cover 80%of my trimming
After work today I'll be adding some Rotala Blood Red and Rotala Rotundifolia Red to an area I recently (2 weeks ago) planted some Rotala Rotundifolia Orange Juice to. I'm hoping to get a nice spill of plants (and color) around a dragon stone rock formation with these three versions. I've got nice good growth on the OJ already, but not yet any color. I'm thinking I'll need to increase lighting intensity. It's a new tank and just now getting over the brown diatom stage.
Ive got some around 2 weeks ago and i hasn't seen any growing just some rooting from the side the plant just stayed the same it doesn't die or grow lol
I love these plants species videos, im trying to make a tank with all the plant species I can using just sunlight from a east window, no artificial light, so I have to be careful with the position and shadow of all plants, and your videos help me a lot. Now I have 1 year with this tank and "the high difficult plants" are doing perfect. Greetings from México! 🇲🇽
Hey Joel, I love all your videos. I just got a bunch of rotala h’ra and they were definitely grown immersed. How long do you think it’ll take to convert them to submerged growth?
I just saw some of this plant at my lfs it looked beautiful! Would this plant look weird along side ludwigia repens? I currently have a lot of that just looking to add some different leaf shapes

It will only grow red lower in the tank if your light is more powerful. I've heard you need a light that can produce 100 par at the desired depth.
One of the only plants I can reliably grow well. Totally gonna get them there scissors
Thanks for this video! Rotala Rotundifolia has so many varieties it's amazing how many different looks you can get in a tank!

Definitely a favorite plant of mine. Great for beginners. I bought 2 bunches and it has now been propagated into all 5 of my aquariums.

Good idea to drop the pot and then wait. Applicable for all Emersed plants..thanks for that

Thoughts on rotala colorata?
does this plan require fertiliser and co2 or it can be grown in any gravel
In how many days you cut the stems regularly?
Where is the link for them Scissors

any new ideas about bamboo shrimps ?

No, in fact I had Rotala act as a background plant to the repens. Looks quite good if you ask me
Thanks for your reply I might just have to give it a shot!
@@SlickNick3 Any time!
Do snails eat them? My snails scoffed up all my Elodea Densa plants :-(
Nice 👍👊
Is this same thing as indica?
Different species.
Rotundifolia is often sold as rotala indica. They can't get names right
