Waiting for part 2 :D They're so inspiring, for real. Pablo's right, living in the Philippines is really hard - this is a third world country with a lot of corrupt adults (and gov't officials). The youth are often boxed in the idea that they need to study THEN help their family to survive. That's the reason why so many dreams die even before it becomes a reality. This is the very reason why SB19 story is special. They were formed during the time that Filipino Pop isn't even a main thing. Boy groups are frowned upon. As they say, Philippines is a land of soloists and belters. A lot of groups have tried but didn't make it to mainstream media. They are always compared to Kpop and people are always putting them in bad light. Yes, ShowBT is a korean company, but in reality (as they mentioned in prev interviews), it's an events company. It's not a huge or highly organized company where they can be fed or provided shelter during their trainee days. That's why you'd notice that in their interviews - food, shelter, transportation even their costumes are things they lacked even if they're under a company. And honestly, even to this day - a lot of Filipinos do not support them. I see it first hand. That's the reason why A'TIN are also working hard with SB19 to promote SB19's craft. I personally had to defend them from others when they talk bad about hearsays like "oh they're not good live, o they had a lot of stuff done". Good gracious, I have never supported a Filipino artist that I have to defend from so many casuals. This group is deeply-rooted in their vision and have withstood the test of time (in a relatively short time) If you guys know what I mean. They are proudly singing in Filipino. They are proud of who they are and what they had to do to survive, they love their families and are always supportive of each other, they believe in their faith and in God. - Tbh, they embody the core value of a Filipino.
I teared up reading your comment 😔 it’s a sad reality. I’m just so glad there are so many A’tin’s working hard to support these boys. They deserve all the success in the world ❤️
@@melaniereacts , thanks for your support as well. Maybe a lot of casuals are wondering why A'TIN always has a lot of comments and tbh, I do not usually comment on videos. But if commenting, subscribing to foreign reactors, etc means that their platform will be bigger, then I'll happily do it :) I'm still at work and I always watch videos while working haha. And just to add, you'd be surprised how PH is a big Korean fandom. Here, it's more common that you'd see Filo Kpop fans than Ppop fans. And I'm not mad at all. I mean, all of these groups are working hard for their dreams, regardless of their race, right? Just the sad reality is a lot of kpop fans here seems to raise eyebrows to the boys and surprisingly calling them overrated and are always seeking validation. And I mean, I guess we are seeking validation. Because that's exactly how the numbers work in favor of the boys. They have a long way to go and I'm glad they've come this far
Josh’s story is why I root for him. Of course I root for them all. But seeing him smile, enjoy himself, finally live out his childhood dreams now makes me so happy for him. He just seems so genuinely grateful for everything he’s achieving/receiving now. Just a happy to be here type of guy.
Ken also did an interview where he shared his experience moving from the province to Manila. From his awkwardness dragging a half sack of rice in the airport to getting soaked in the rain during the night while staying with his aunt. The interview is quite long but inspiring.
From what I remember on one of Ken’s interviews. When he was staying at his aunt’s house, he has to do chores and he experienced not sleeping at night time whenever it’s raining hard coz the roof of the apartment at her aunt’s house was under renovation and there was no roof above him and when it rains he doesn’t sleep at all. He was just standing all night and trying to scoop out the water out of the house until morning . He fought for his dreams that he’s been believing. He didnt give up even all hard work that he needs to do. Dropping his nephew to school, cooking food, cleaning the house etc. I admire him so much & I have too much respect on him that’s why he is my bias.
Glad you took the time to get to know each member’s story; if you think their music is inspiring, you’ll find it more meaningful once you know the back story in each lyric line. Their stories make their songs stand out, imo - and what turns regular fans into loyal stans.
Josh's life is the most sad for me. I'm not really sure where I watched where he shared his story but he was the most unfortunate growing up. That's is probably why he grew up with a very strong personality because of his experiences. A'tin (especially BBQs, Josh's fans) are extra protective of him because of this.
A few people have told me the Vlog he shared his story on is now private. If I find the video through an A’tin should I just watch on my own instead of filming? If he took it down, it was probably for a reason right?
@@melaniereacts I think it would be okay! I think the main reason he took it down was to clean up his channel before posting his MV. So his channel became more professional and serious/polished. I don’t think he regretted posting it or not want people to talk about it. But I can see why you wouldn’t want to or if other people think you shouldn’t. It’s up to you!
@@melaniereacts Yeah, that would be a good decision to just watch it in private if you see a video of it copied or uploaded by another person . Josh has shared his stories a few times ...he said one day he wanted to make a movie out of his life story. Who knows that could be the reason why he took that video out in public to see. All I can say is...Thankfully, Josh's tough life did not made him bitter, even with the little he had money wise he has always been willing to extend help the best he can, paying for Ken's airfare is but 1 example. Every member of SB19 is special, that is why I am a MAHALIMA. Unlike many idol groups SB19 is not manufactured, they were not merely put together, the members themselves choose to be in the group, they walked out & returned on their own. The decision to stay was was left in their own hands. Think about Stray Kids as an example, JYP decides who stays or who goes....imagine if Felix did not work hard to improve & not be considered in their final group? From one who was almost got cut off to becoming the most identified member of the group.
I saw a comment already telling you that they are a band (with instruments btw) called The Juans and suggesting for you to listen to the song “Hindi Tayo Pwede”, but im gonna say it again, haha, have a listen to it. Its really good. One of my faves. They are both the brand ambassadors of TM, which is a cellular service brand in the Philippines. They’ve been good friends ever since, you will see them in some of SB19’s videos in YT and vice versa. Both group are sometimes or usually nominated for the same category in some music awards. The Juans are very supportive of SB19, they were there in Manila’s Pagtatag con. 😊
The Juans play instruments while singing. They met in Church, them being Born-Again Christians like Ken and Pablo. They have a string of hits you might wanna check: Hindi Tayo Pwede, Hatid, and my favorite Back Home. 😊
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. These boys are where they are without having relied on the “normal” way the world works for a huge reason. They will impact the world in extraordinary ways. I can’t wait to see, along with the rest of the planet, what this will be. Thanks for the support and interest you give them, Melanie. I’m sure your part in making them known to more people is an important piece of their future and contribution to humanity. 🎉❤😊
I think Josh has the most struggle emotionally mentally and physically with his family aa a big concern as well. Ken's struggles were being away from his family while going through some hardships and tried to be strong on his own. His other full interview in a podcast says it all. Pablo's struggle is going through his own personal frustrations as an artist. Stell is undeniably talented yet his struggle was that inner voice fighting his past insecurities or weaknesses. Justine is more about proving his worth as he didn't have the same struggle as the group. But together with the fragments of each strengths they became invincible. Working really hard for their dreams the collective effort from the leader to the members are like blood veins essential to make the heart beat.
Ken didn't even mentioned that there were times he slept in the floor without a roof and every time it rains, he just have to stand in the corner getting soaked and no sleep. He just waited until morning or until the rain stops but he still comes to there practice even with those situations. He didn't even complained to his aunt about that. And yeah, sometimes we just have to be smacked in the head hard so that we will realize how lucky we are than other people.
You're absolutely right... Josh was just scratching the surface. They all had their own hardships, but Josh's story was really heartbreaking to hear. He posted a video on his own youtube channel and opened up about his past and all the things that him and his family went through...things he didn't explain in this KwentoJuan podcast. He went into detail about things he went through growing up, but the traumas he endured made him a stronger person today. I tried looking for that video again, but couldn't find it. He probably deleted it.
3:42 hello, beautiful😍. That's the real background of his room. Kuya Yani assisted in decorating it, and there's a video titled 'Justin De Dios Room Makeover by Yani: Man Cave Design' on his RUclips channel.
Finally! the juans are one of SB19’s closest friends in the industry and spend their days off and vacation times together. Hindi Tayo Pwede is a fantastic intro or Salamin. Their songs, like SB19’s also take on difficult topics set to beautiful music. Something to look forward to after your surgery!
The Juans are SB19's artist best friends. They hang out even behind the camera. They have the same goal in music industry and they're both very great REAL artists who wear their hearts on their sleeves. Check out their song where Stell was featured in. It's called Salamin.
Josh is very open about the hardships he had suffered during his childhood. He revealed a lot on his Vlog, but noticed he had taken down that specific episode (you may find it via other reactors). Him and his sister were physically abused by a nanny, the family went through bankruptcy and evicted (multiple times), and he eventually split from his family and was homeless a while. I think he alluded to suffering depression/suicidal thoughts during this period on his vlog. Just devastating.
I saw that Josh Vlog also before he took it down - it was very hard to watch him cry and talk about all those details you mentioned. I think he did that as an emotional release at that time. I’ve never seen an interview after that where he goes into those details again, probably because he doesnt want or need to anymore.
This was the video that made me an a’tin. I was in a very bad place at that time and he inspired me to get out of that state. I’m mahalima but I was able to relate to him more than any of the other members.
@@melaniereacts in his vlog, he shared some of his darkest past experiences which I really commend him doing tho he didn't share all not because he doesn't want to but because he hasn't overcome them yet. Stell's Las Piñas - Marikina commute is about 2 hrs each way ±30 mins (depending on where exactly his start and end points are), with multiple transfers. It can be longer during rush hour, and when it rains.
Hi Mel! Love your reactions, always. Can't wait for the second part of this interview. For deeper story about their life before I think for Josh it's in his vlog he shared his heartbreaking past there. His story literally broke my heart, like how cruel the world to him. For Ken, it's in his interview I think with Dougbrock Radio it's hours long interview but worth it. Ken shared deeper of his story there. And that interview thought me to never take anything for granted and be grateful for what I have. I think it's not only because of his aura and charisma that's why I'm a Ken biased his life stories definitely left a biggest impact on my being.
You know what me me really stan them harder? It is because of their inspiring experiences, how they give it their all to get where they are now. Best decision in life is to stan MAHALIMA. Mahal natin ang lima, mahal tayo ng lima. 💙💙💙💙💙
Mel thank you for this, I love how empathic you are, as I Feel the same every time I see this interview, I get teary too. The individual Story that Cashual Chuck made sort of cover some of the story Josh told on his vlogs, also really good content to watch. The Juans are also amazing artists, I love Salamin MV, Anghel and Hindi Tayo Puwede. But I know so much to catch up with SB19 contents still, looking forward to episode 5 of Kuwentong Juan, its only 2 episodes. 💙💙💙💙💙
I can't help but get teary because even though I know they are in such a better position now, I have always been someone who can put myself into someone elses "shoes"/experiences really well. So when they were explaining their past, I could physically feel the pain and struggle. Breaks my heart knowing how hard it must have been for them. Looking forward to the next epispde. Will have to put their music on my list of things to check out
Please watch the part 2 Ep. 6 Mel continuation from stell to Pablo was the last to tell his story which is way more emotional that when I watch Pablo’s part I breakdown in tears 😭. I hope you can continue watching it Mel. Carl the leader of the group the Juans and other members has so many beautiful messages inputs and the way they process the stories of the boys is so touching 🥹👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Their stories the SB19’s humble beginnings and struggles was the major factor why I started liking them even more and rooting for their success, apart from their mind blowing talents and creativeness. SB19’s life stories was the cherry 🍒 on top of all their success and recognition internationally. Thanks Melanie ❤
Of course I will be watching the next part! I am really looking forward to hearing Jah and Pablo's stories. I know Pablo's might make me cry but i am still so curious to learn ❤
30:13 Hi Mel! Actually Josh had a vlog before where he told his whole life story but I believe it's now in private. His life story is really inspiring. It was the hardest but I admire him more for not giving up. You can check Casualchuck's solo episode deep dive into him. It's pretty accurate. Josh is the best Kuya for me (big brother). So caring and kind.
The Juans is an OPM band, more mainstream than SB19 coz they sing "hugot" love songs (overly emotional, often using exaggerated wordings to highlight the emotions) that majority of Filipinos listen to. Did you notice Stell's chipped.front tooth. 😂 He's so cute. Get an idol who's so relatable and DGAF about their appearance. I remember, he announced his chipped tooth via a tiktok live before. He was so adorable and funny! He had braces in his lower teeth that time that he was grinding his teeth when he sleeps. To add, the closest member to THE JUAN is Stell, particularly with CARL (the leader, the one who's at the middle who speaks well) and RJ, the youngest. CARL was so fond of Stell that he calls him COUSIN even if they are not related. They treat Stell like a baby and also the reason why they asked Stell to appear in their SALAMIN MV.
I saw the tooth but didn't want to comment on it because I don't know what his teeth used to look like so I just thought, that was them? lol. Didn't realise it was just a chipped tooth. Still handsome as ever. Love that they are super close to the Juans
@@melaniereactsOther idols would just show their best foot forward, but not SB19. They don't hide behind glitz and glamor and would gladly show their worst looks on cam (Stell attended different online interviews with that cracked tooth coz he can't go the dentist that time because of the pandemic restrictions) and let you listen to their voice cracks without care in the world. Yeah there were close to The Juans coz they did projects esp. with TM (a telecom/simcard company) and they did few collab songs for the that company. They even did a variety show on youtube called TM MAD RUSH TO YOUR CRUSH which is so good and funny and worth checking out. However, I believe, it has no subtitles up to this day, which is sad coz I feel like international fans like you would enjoy that show. 😓
Yes, you’re right! Josh’s only scraped the surface. He has endured all (or at least many) of the different types of abuses starting since he was less than 3yo. Maybe you can find his now privated video of his childhood somewhere. And yeah! A part missing from Stell’s that I’ve heard in a different interview is that his family was so poor in the past that his grandma carved and made their make shift “house” using the land on the side of a river under a bridge I think
I find Stell's looks here very cute. He looks humble, genuine, and sincere. The way he talks, mararamdaman mo ung puso nya. I am a sisiw pero love ko silang lahat.
I’m just excited for you to really deep dive onto their stories, Btw The Juans is A band Based in Bulacan (Province in PH) They have been in the industry for a long time they debut around 2013 and still active as a group. Their songs is pretty well known and they have a great music and message through their songs. SB19 & THE JUANS IS PRETTY CLOSED FRIENDS THEY HAVE BEEN MEETING JUST TO HANGOUT AND THEY EVEN GO TO TRIPS TOGETHER STELL & JUSTIN HAVE A VLOG ON THAT AND ALSO ON THE JUANS CHANNEL, SB19 ALSO INVITE THE JUANS ON THEIR 4TH CON ANNIVERSARY AS A SPECIAL GUEST AND FOR ME THAT WAS THE BEST CONCERT EVEN IT’S ONLINEEEEE THEY HAVE MANY SONGS COLLBORATION FOR THEIR TM endorsement, you should do next time SB19 songs for ads because it’s really good!! lastly you should ready a tissue for the next episode
This is the interview I watched!! But I was watching/listening whilst doing something else at the same time so I need to go back and watch it properly because I missed a lot of details.
16:27 Yes they are also a band. They also write their own songs. You should check them out. :) They also did a collab with SB19 for an ad for TM. 😊
Oh so cool 😍
You know what me me really stan them harder? It is because of their inspiring experiences, how they give it their all to get where they are now. Best decision in life is to stan MAHALIMA.
Mahal natin ang lima, mahal tayo ng lima. 💙💙💙💙💙
They are definitely beyond inspiring 😭 heartbreaking story but so amazing ❤️
Kakaiyak naman..
💙💙💙💙💙 you
Mahalima!🤘
More blessings..
Ingatan🙏
Right back at you po xx

Hi melanie
react to ken
in there wyat tour in singapore last 2022
Ken focus he so sexy and handsome there..
So happy you finally watched this interview.
Yahh these guys deserve it
The last part is really emotional it's the first time pablo open up his story
Oh…. I’m not ready for that am I 🥲
Mel thank you for this, I love how empathic you are, as I Feel the same every time I see this interview, I get teary too.
@@melaniereacts true ❤️ Thank you 😊
Hi Melanie I think you haven't seen these yet. SLMT, WIN YOUR HEART and MERRY MUNCHKINS. 😊
Thank you 😍
30:13 Hi Mel!
Thank you
❤️
I want you to watch their valentines special haha
They are called The Juans, they're a band in the philippines
I’ll try find the video to watch ❤️
Sounds heartbreaking 😔
Hey Melanie! Check out ‘Back Home’ by the Juans - great song, great vocals, great music.
I find Stell's looks here very cute. He looks humble, genuine, and sincere. The way he talks, mararamdaman mo ung puso nya. I am a sisiw pero love ko silang lahat.
Agree 🥹❤️
Hehe cutie Stell, this time he lost a tooth hahaha ❤
Lol the sudden change to capital letters 😅
Thanks for the info 🥰❤️❤️
If you want to do a deep dive on yo mans (Ken 🐣😂) I recommend dougbrock tv's FELIP interview. He literally recounted his whole life there 😅
This is the interview I watched!! But I was watching/listening whilst doing something else at the same time so I need to go back and watch it properly because I missed a lot of details. It was like the first week of my discovering him properly and I binged a few interviews. This was one, but I think I was cooking dinner at the same time or something 🤔🤣 need to fully focus my attention on it
Agree
@@melaniereacts lmao love the effect he had on you! 🤣 honestly he do be making women swoon. The interview is 2+ hrs long so feel free to watch it on your own time. 😊 Took me a week to get through it as I have ADHD and couldn't do it in one sitting but thought it was a fantastic interview!!
Waiting for the episode 6 ❤️❤️❤️
This sounds dramatic but I legit clapped my hands when I saw you uploaded a new sb19 video lol. I havent watched this kwentong juan ep in full, so its good to watch it with a co-atin :) And you always upload at a time when I need to distract myself hahahah. Thank you, Mel 😅
Hahaha this is cute. Glad to keep you company 😉❤️
I'm so excited for you to watch the episode 6 😭 And yes, cashual chuck created a mini documentary for them (individually) hopefully you can also watch that ❤️ Good luck with your eye surgery 🫶🏻
Can’t wait to watch the next ep either! Will do it asap ❤️
You can react even 1hour we dont mind. 😊 We love long RV.
Haha I know. But I don’t always have the time for hour long videos 🥰❤️
OMG OMG OMG IT’S HERE 😭 ok time to cry…
SO EMOTIONAL 😭
Watch out for attention cover... nice choreo
❤❤❤❤❤
The Juans are also a band here in the PH. They sang together during the TM Team Tayo performance. :)
Ohhhhhhhh that’s right! I remember someone telling me they are a band 🙈🙈🙈
If you haven't heared The Juans music/songs, go please check them out. They are great artist/band.
Will do 😍
emotional interview
It is 🥲
Hi Melanie hope you could react to SB19 PepsiLove performance..😊
Yes cashualchuck had more detailed story of each of the members
I prefer the interviews/lives more than watching casualchuck. Better to hear it from the boys, so there is no added stuff. Chuck is just a fan like us.
They really went through a lot. Please react to their individual story made by Cashual Chuck. "What nobody understands about Pablo/Stell/Josh/Ken".
Good morning Melanie.💙💙💙
Good morning 🥰
The last episode is 6... I'm waiting ☺️
Looking forward to watching it 🥰
Listen to Pablo's story and you'll understand La Luna better 😊
waiting for episode 6 please…
who are these guys?? They're the Juans!! they're sooo good you need to check out their songs lol - The Juans "Hindi tayo pwede"!! i get goosebumps when i hear that song
Ohhhhhhh ok ok!!!! I’ll have to check them out 🙈🙈🙈
the main singer right in the middle. his voice is so good! The wishbus one was such a great performance too! Too bad it's not in english, but it's one of those where you feel the music and get goosebumps from the feels 😊😊@@melaniereacts
try their zach sang interview mel! loved your reactions!
Ohh will do!!
Finally ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
Josh never met his dad and her mom and sister is always fighting everyday. He didn’t finished grade school i think he only reach grade 3 or 4 and he need to stop because they don’t have money.
He must be so proud of everything he has achieve ❤️
Just go to their vlogs rather than watch content creators. You'd hear their stories from themselves. Thanks for this.
