And the positions are: - 1st detent compressed: 4-5 (shifter to the right) - bearing resting against 1st detent: 2-3 - bearing touching 2nd detent: 1-2 - 2nd detent compressed: R Also, where did you buy these parts? Thank you for this detailed explanation I converted my Supra mkiv into a Getrag 420g. It’s a fun ride. Then I noticed a lot of side to side play while in neutral There is no resistance ! The shifter just sits loose. I was told that I may have picked up an smg version which may not have these detent spring and all - Your thoughts ?
Hi im trying to help my dad with his car but we didn’t get whats going on with what u call bits in hole 1 can u maybe explain it specifically to me🤷🏻♀️
alex1nyny the smg bell housing is he same as manual in every way. He only thing is the machining needs to be done on smg for the two detention springs.

Is the compression spring where the gear switch is located the same on SMG and Manual? Is the part number 23317511337? Also, how far did you tap it?
