Naomi from one Brit to another you are my sister girl in my head. When my family first migrated from England to Cali. I was first introduced to you via the magazines I have been following your journey ever since. I got my dream of meeting you by dressing you a couple of times for NY fashion week. I worked for Ground crew for 22 years.(always too shy to talk to you other than from a professional side) I am so glad you raised this topic because it is long over due. I wish Audrey S. was in on this conversation. I also designed for a big corporate company and I always remembered how I felt usually being the only 1 or few of color. One thing that stuck with me when you said Bethann was your mum. (I love Bethann H. she is an icon within herself in the industry) In this industry being a woman of color having that soul mum figure in fashion kept ones sanity and composure when you needed it. Audrey SmaItz and another lady who I am still friends with to this day were my soul support mums when I worked in fashion. I worked in fashion from 1990 for 25 years. Then I made my exit.
I landed here because Naomi has been on my mind for a few days. I go to her Twitter and figured I'd sub her YT channel only to come to see her online. All I can say is thank you God 🙌🏾

Hi there Naomi and BethAnn, I watched the Versailles 1973 fashion show documentary. It was so touching. When you were talking about black fashion designers and fashion houses like Gucci. Look what they did to Dapper Dan. It was only because Gucci was called out by the public for using a Dapper Dan designs. That he was eventually hired by Gucci and is now a king in his own right.

I have a question for the most admirable bethann : i wonder what is the scenario for black men or asian men of colour in modelling as whenever we talk fashion models the greatest have undoubtedly been women like legendary mama naomi but what are the issues that men face? We do have the most diversified styles for women but why not for men too when many designers are men, i mean we have madam sarah burton for mcqueen who does splendidly but why is male fashion still less innovative and less diversified? Why does the prejudice of wearing of not designing out of the box clothing for men not go away when infinite variations exist in feminine couture?
