Acting as a part 2 to the video from last week, here's the spoiler discussion going over some of the key plot points that I feel have potential going in to Kuro No Kiseki II: Crimson Sin.
Last week's video answered stuff like if Kuro no Kiseki might be a good game to start in the Trails Series, if you're looking for which game to start with in the Trails Series or if you just want to know what Kuro no Kiseki is all about.
This one will act as more of a summary of the story from Kuro no Kiseki, and also a point of discussion for fans of Trails who have already completed the game.
Needless to say, there will be massive spoilers for everything in Kuro no Kiseki and a wide amount of the Trails Series here, so be warned.

Effectively a part 2 for the video that showed up last week, here's some of the plot points that caught my eye in Kuro.
Naturally, share your highlights, theories etc in the comments below; I'm always a fan of seeing different ideas from players on how they feel the plot will develop.
This franchise is low key one of the best RPG series ever made.

Absolutely it's so amazing.. kinda campy in some spots but it kinda just makes it feel like a cult classic movie for me when I play it. Can't get enough.
Mare at the end mentions that Grendel was a restraint Van used to draw upon his Demon Lord power without fully awakening his other personality as Vagrant Zion.
So it seems to be an inbetween state of human and demon.
I can't believe the story of trail series is evolve from something fighting some evil organization from trail of the sky.. protect and defend the city from the trail of zero..and some school life in trail of cold steel..to something even bigger plot that connects each story...and still haven't solve yet...that why I love this game so so much... ❤️...°°

Kondo already confirmed in an interview that Quatre is related to the one from Rennes story and that it was another split personality or hers. He mentioned that them naming him by that name was just pure coincidence and that was all it was.

@@KudaGeatsune3821 I am aware haha. I actually believe him on this one though, as foolish as it might be. I think there would have been some indication that Renne and Quatre recognized each other if he actually was she got that alternate identity from. I doubt he was in Paradise. But we'll see.
@@Starkride48 I mean, would you recognize someone you met when he was under 10 years old over a decade later? Especially because quatre hasnt neccesseraily ever met Renne, since her quatre was just an absorbed personality not him in person
so by Shackles I speculate that the Goddess put some sort of "limiter" to the living beings of Zemuria and by breaking their shackles via other means such as the drugs of the DG cult removes the limiter and gives access to powers such as foresight or reality bending shenanigans

Oh god yeah, I agree that Quatre got done so dirty. The line about him going "so you, too" riled me up 'cause there was little to no buildup for it. I know it's setup for future stuff, but given how long Kuro was I just wanted more for it yknow lmao. -also lowkey forgot about Quatre being one of the kids in SD15 that's fucked up bro-

Maybe Kuro will be another arc with a alternative reality. In Ao no Kiseki, we know there is a "possible world" where the SSS died. In Sen no Kiseki we know there is a "possible world" where Rean died at the end. And now Kuro might have something like that too. Geralt Dantes in the end of Kuro say things like "how this world is a farse". Perhaps he was trying to reach a new world himself. It's turning out that characters are already aware the possibilites of different worlds and realities in the series. So I wonder if they will touch more about this subject. The alignment system of Van for example? How he can do different choices, and all his choices affect people's lives drastically. I wonder how they gonna explain his alignment choices, especially with the Almata bosses in the end of Kuro, that some of them can either die or live depending of your choice. Also chapter 5 of Kuro, where Van is forced to ally himself with a faction of his own choice.
While possible worlds will likely play a bigger part than any other arc(due to gramharts plan), I doubt they will use the choices as any bigger narrative device
I personally don't think the choices will have much of a bearing on the canon of the series, it just opens way too big a can of worms. A narrative as deep as this needs to maintain a solid plot line throughout, with the only exception being CS4 which intentionally split the ending.

Well, there are scenes of Elaine and Van being killed by Crimson Grendel so it's possible - and Renne and Swin POSSIBLY dying (Nothing concrete on the last 2, but on the translated version of the trailer, Swin mentions that he's "atoning" by sacrificing and a scene with Agnes crying about Renne (Unless it's like CSII, and she's crying about failing to save Van or Elaine)
With the Legend of Heroes: The Northern War anime I’m hoping we get more information on the saltification that happened there and a lead on what could happen to zemuria as a whole.
As for good ol Roy I believe HE has the final genesis knowing full well what they entail. The oct genesis will all end up at the same place and if they end up in his hands then more power lol. What got me is when he briefly brought up space, could there be multiple zemurias if one goes up into space? Since Reverie I thought of Zemuria as a snow globe that you aren’t suppose to take one thing and put it into another snow globe. If Reverie can show normal end Rean and make him canon, then what’s stopping Roy from finding his wife in another Zemuria?
Words that can’t be comprehended also could tie in to what I said about zemuria being a snow globe. Words that may exists in another zemuria or dimension may not have concepts or may have previously existed but were erased of its entirety. I wouldn’t doubt that other zemurias were further out in the timeline than what we’re currently at. I’m just spitball in here lol.
Quatre was the character I was sad I didn’t learn more about. The first thing that came to mind is Quatre was gender bent from D.G Cult with how adamant he was bout bathing by himself. Renne’s door didn’t come to mind till now. Sorry if my post is long winded🤣 Kuro really along with Reverie really got the ol noggin doing overtime.
We already saw Grendel Zolga have the final genesis in the trailer. So unless that is gramheart, which I doubt, he doesnt have it(yet, that could change)

Don't really have any thoughts of where this is all going; however, so excited to see how some many plot lines built throughout the series seems to be getting the resolution/more in depth look they deserve considering there are so many different secret societies all doing their own thing, but ultimately working toward the same answers.
Well they need to start pushing towards the ultimate answers now. Kondo has stated we're over 60% of the way through when Reverie was released, so we're definitely coming up to what is the 'planned' final stretch.

Just finished it a few hours ago and it was great. I'm really, really hoping zerofield decide to translate Kuro no Kiseki 2 we're all basically screwed if they don't lmao at this point I wouldn't mind paying $500 to a Patreon account to give them some incentive. I'm sure they could easily get at least 10k per translation by how many of us are basically dependent on them to continue our beloved series lmao
When it comes to “the truth of the world” something I always found interesting is in Hajimari when both Reans are talking to each other NE Rean said unshackle yourself from the goddess and you can go anywhere, take hold of him and go ‘outside the continent or beyond the atmosphere” I wonder what the difference between those are?
When Shizuna grabbed the Mare possessed Yumé, she said that her power is still in the realm of human “for now” and when she used spirit unification she said she can almost see the “Zero State” and what lies beyond, so what is the zero state? How do you achieve it? And what happens when get to it or go beyond it?
Honestly the way the story goes so far and how grandmaster&ouroboros act it feels like zemuria is something like created/simulated world like in metal gear solid 2 story.
My assumption comes from cold steel 4, where alisa&emma explained that there's a border of the world that keep repelling you&sending you to starting position. Reminds you of game world yes?
zero state i think is something like kea ability that can take a peek on causality(something like take peek at future or past and the key to activate that future, like a route or something) rean&cassius have a little of this ability, yun ka fai have more of this i believe, renne, lapis and gnosis also can unlock this ability.

No worries bud, I realise this was going to be a very niche video in the end but I still wanted to talk about the plot to a degree. But this is why I split the two videos, a more general one for those looking on the outside in, and this one for those who already know what it has to offer.
I’ll say this falcom was receptive of the criticism cold steel series got and went back to there roots and made a good game. I will assume since everybody didn’t like the music in kuro 1 that kuro 2 and maybe 3 will have better music
I mean I hope it sorts out. The Kuro OST is the worst I've heard so far, which is odd to me because I still consider the likes of Ys IX and Cold Steel to have excellent music, so it's not a case of the recent titles losing their edge. Maybe they were just aiming for a different tone with the music in Kuro and went a bit overboard.
@@TheKisekiNut Nope, pretty sure they lost Unisuga who was one of their best composers, they barely give Jindo any tracks because he is more expensive then some other composors working for the game. Kinda wish they spent their money on the ost instead of hiring voice actors they barely can afford.
Fingers crossed that Kuro 3’s ost will be better than the first two. More Jindo/Koguchi/Sonoda and less Singa.

I wonder if Gehanna is something that was manifested due to humanity's perception of needing a "Heaven" and "Hell" whenever souls need a place to rest. It's a place could that exist because humans willed it to be.
"Breaking free from the shackles of the Goddess" could be the equivalent of "opening your third eye" and understanding phenomenon that exists beyond what humans believes that exist or have invented for themselves.
This seems to be a theme that's surfacing a lot more. After the Great Collapse, religion is what brought the masses in line so to speak (the Septian Church). Focus on the Goddess probably has some credence, but it's far from just 'Aidios created all, and bestowed the Sept Terrions' - I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.
there was also possibly foreshadowing for holy beast of the sept terrion of wind or at least may be another key plot for next game / farther in the future games at the side quest of the cave near langport ..about monster that can control wind and the legend of that cave

If I remember correctly, an interview with Kondo supposedly said that Garden's leader had yet to be seen, meaning that there was somebody who's higher on the food chain than Emperor (who felt like the most important Warden due to him recruiting the other 3) and is presumably not Ellroy (who technically created the organization).
For him to bring this up, combined with Swin's confirmed return, it feels like there's a high chance for Garden to make return in Crimson Sin (unlike Armata, which is confirmed to not even have any remnants left).
Which interview? Because the way Kuro 1 presented it, Ellroy convinced Melchior to form Garden and he then recruited the others. If he put someone else in charge as "leader", why was he following Dante? IIRC
@@florac1995 I'll have to get back to you on which interview, but the 3 remaining Wardens were following Gerard pretty much on their own whims.
I was under the impression that the leader, whoever that may be, gave them the okay to sign a "contract" with Armata, with Melchior outright becoming an executive due to falling for the Boss.
P.S. I was under the impression that Emperor recruited Melchior (he recruited Arioch and Olympia after all), but maybe he just appointed him as a Warden?
@@shinnbidan7536 I dont remember any "leader" every being implied. Also from the line in the game about how armata was formed(from spreadsheet translation):
"But... When he said I could do whatever I like and make my very own Garden, now that's when the fun began! I met Emperor, took in the remaining cult members, and eventually even made friends with Arioch and Olympia!"
So to me, that sounds like there wasn't a proper leader, just melchior was the closest thing to a "founder"
@@florac1995 I'm fuzzy on details cause I beat the game four months ago, but are you sure isn't just referring to the Garden of Thorns here? I thought Ellroy founded Garden, but I suppose that could mean he just handed it to Melchior and then he recruited the others. I don't totally remember what they said. (edit: it seems like all Ellroy really did is put the remnants of the DG Cult and the Order of the Moonlight Horse together)
Also, the interview is in the Kuro artbook. Kondo says that we've seen a few members of management (幹部), but nothing is known about the top (トップ). We don't know what that means, but this clearly implies there could be someone above the Wardens.
I honestly don't remember any mention of a leader, maybe that just passed me over.
I love the amount of questions this game left unanswered without ending on a cliffhanger. There's so much I can't wait to learn more about. Who was Nina talking to? I was convinced she was gonna be a villain from her first connect event where she talks about how she has no true self so she has no choice but to play different characters (or something like that). What exactly is Marduk doing? What the heck is going on with Quatre? Who is C? What is the space base? And so much more. There are a ton of characters I want to learn more about too, like Lucrezia and Shizuna. I'm also convinced Dingo is not done, I think Gerard said something like there being a 30% he would get teleported away with him. We're gonna see masked Dingo in Kuro 2 (please no). I can't wait to see where this all goes.
I mean, chances of C being Rufus are pretty high imo. Dont see why anyone else would pick that name. Also what Gerard said is that there's a 30% chance of he himself being teleported away. Nothing about Dingo potentially being safe.
@@florac1995 I agree with you on Rufus, I was assuming the same thing. Seems especially likely now that we know Swin is in the game. And I guess I misunderstood that 30% chance line. Knowing Falcom though, I still feel like there's a chance Dingo was teleported away.
@@Starkride48 I would assume so were this still CS. I kinda doubt it in Kuro. If he returns, it's likely more related to whatever Gramheart is doing with (presumably) the goal of bringing his wife back to life.

If I remember correctly, before the festival began didn't the group make mention of C but then established that it likely wasn't linked to either of the two? I thought C's identity was given by the end as Melchior, but maybe I misinterpreted something there.
I'm surprised that you didn't mention Nina and her suspicious activities. That was one of my biggest questions come the end of the game, just what in the hell is up with her.
Nina sort of skipped over my head. It was only after I released it that she popped back in - I guess there wasn't enough there in this game for it to stick in my head.
@@TheKisekiNut That's fair. We got a lot of implications and not much in the way of anything to actually theorize about. I'm talking about it right now in a Discord server, and we have come to the conclusion that we could say she's literally anything and it has a chance to be right. An anguis, an Enforcer, a witch, a Gralsritter, a member of the Nine Navagraha Clans.
I wonder whether Ouroboros and the heroes from the games will work together in the end to prevent the end of the world.
I just have a question regarding Dingo's death. It seems dingo knew that Gerard or someone from Almata would show up in Creil with the reactor bomb. He put his affairs in order and clearly made peace with the fact that he was very likely going to lose his life. If he knew about all this, why didn't he just contact the bracers, police or the authorities? Couldn't they have been able to stop Gerard from detonating the reactor bomb and saving Creil Village in the process? Did I miss something here?
From my understanding Dingo was trying to confront Gerard and he knows that he will probably not make it out alive. Problem is, he didn't know that Gerard actually has a nuke and that came out of the left field. As for why he wants to confront Gerard, I surmise it's because he felt largely responsible for aiding Gerard to topple the previous don of Almata.
Basically, he thought that the worst case scenario is that only he will die. That is probably why he didn't bother to contact the authorities.

I am pretty sure an equivalent of Heaven has been mentioned, but not by a specific name.
And yeah, the mention that Gehenna doesnt exist left me kinda shocked. I am also left wondering if does that mean there is also no Heaven in the Trails world. Does that mean that the souls of the deceased just.... Disappear!?

I'm curious to see what they have in store for all the main characters we met. As you said, most of their ark was decent, but I was never able to get really attached to them as in the end they just seem like a bunch of random people thrown there to fill up the party. I was more interested in the story between Van, Elaine and René as these guys have a relationship dating back to their childhood. And in comparison to the other games of the series, Sky had Estelle and Joshua who already knew each other and the SSS and Class VII were a group already formed that kept evolving. I could never really feel this "evolving" side of the group with each other in Kuro

I doubt desertification will be touched too much in Kuro, considering it hasn't even be mentioned in kuro 1 main story. I think it's more likely for a free cities arc(which is my guess for the next arc)
As for quatre, I doubt we are done with the cult just yet. One shot for crimson sin with the two evil kids has what looks like a closed "cult eye" in it. My crack theory for Grendel Zolga's identity is also another cult victim from star door 15: Cross. After all, why else mention him in Kuro?(ofc, could also just be as a reference, but imo in that case, having renne say quatre would have made a lot more sense)
Desertification was mentioned a few times, including it being the reason why Hamilton was away from Basel, so I don't think the possibility is gone.

I dont think Quatre was done dirty personally. We do have two games after all, it feels like they were saving Quatre's stuff for the next game. We also have Risette's stuff for next game, so it's not as if every secret is revealed for all these characters
Also I think that Quatre's body related things may be related to his gender. I don't think he was born male. Whether he's transgender or just pretending to be a boy for some reason, I think there's a lot of hints that he might be biologically female.

I mean it would be poetic in a way considering she played Sheena in the movie. But I don't know, I think there's more to it than that, she seemed a bit shady at times especially while down in that car park.
