Congrats on new rig and another beautiful video. The spillways and big fish are cool, but any chance of some new tiny creeks & microfishing adventures soon? Your natural enthusiasm for the small things is just as inspiring as your larger catches, and seems like it's been a while. And if you need a fun phrase, instead of PB, you can go on the hunt for your PL for many species (personal least) :)
Congratulations on the new truck buddy! I have a 2014 Ram 3500HD single rear tire diesel and I love it. I also have a 2017 Ford F-550 with a 30' gooseneck low-boy, a 2012 Ford F-550, 2014 Ford F-750 with air brakes and a 40' gooseneck low-boy, a 2014 Peterbilt 367 winch truck with a 47' step-deck, and a 2014 Peterbilt 50k lb crane truck for my company. I'm a truck driver in the oilfield, so I have to keep a fleet. I wasn't trying to overshadow you or anything, and I'm not bragging, I'm just saying that I know how awesome it feels to get a new truck. Also, that was a beautiful largemouth! Again, congratulations on the new truck buddy!
very nice of you leaving that box there for either its original owner or someone less fortunate than you. casting your other rod in twice was crazy. and then you said: PLEASE STAY ON! i laughed outloud. :)
Nick's intro: "I found a tackle box" followed by "oh no, it's taking off". Conjured images of a winged tackle box rolling down a runway or one that's very fleet of foot. Nick, if you're reading this not making fun. Just having fun which is why we all fish.
I hear you buddy, I'm about to take my sons fishing if I can. I have 7 and 10 year old sons and the older one lives fishing, while my 7 year old hates fishing, but is very good at it when he actually cares. I live near Pittsburgh and I have lived here since 2000, but I've never caught any crappie because they're not very prevalent in our particular area because most of the fisheries are part of the Ohio River. Anyway, my 7 year old goes fishing for the first time with me and his first cast with a nightcrawler and he gets a nice 13" Black Crappie and was so excited and begged for me to take his picture. He caught 19 fish that day including the crappie, but hates fishing for some reason. I don't know how you could be so naturally good at something and hate it. Oh well, I guess you can't win them all...
I remember when I was carp fishing I had a fish take the rod out into the lake, had to send the dog in to retrieve, fish was still on lol. Nice job on the truck nick xxx
I've lost a few rods in recent years. Jumped in for the first time off my kayak this year, because I refused to lose another one being clumsy! Managed to find it, it's insane how hard it can be to find something that you watched sink, and would think would be easy! Also, you're killin' it, you'll be at a million subs before you know it.
That's a cool addition to your truck! I've seen it in your other videos and wondered about it? Glad you got your pole back... twice! Sometimes it's just one of those days!!
Don't feel bad, I lost my high school class ring casting my rod 40 years ago. 1 years savings gone in a blink. My hands were wet and off the finger it flew into about 6 ft of water.
@@greygraham5361 Yeah, the initial panic does help for making quick decisions. I´ve had pretty good luck with mine so far. Either the hook didn´t let go, or I´ve managed to drag it back with a heavy spoonbait. I did have to undress and wade pretty deeply to retrieve a rod that I dropped from a jetty when I stumbled, back in february. It was the most cold I can remember feeling, but I really like that rod and reel. Nothing special, just a diawa rod with a lexa spinning reel, but it´s caught the most fish of all my gear.
Although it costs you a slight reduction in bed space depth wise, the water tight locking drawers make up for it for sure. The back of my truck has seen some nasty business, and unfortunately my tackle isnt always in the toolbox lol. Looks good man I dig it. This visit to the spillway was a bust, but itll be better next time when you take that beastly new kayak down a ways! Keep up the good work brother! Much love from CO.
Patrick Owens thanks man I sure am stoked about it! I was wishing I had my kayak on this trip out there.. kept seeing fish jumpin down stream! Thanks for watching man!
You probably heard it already but for the gar get you a treble hook and a thick mono leader and let them take the bait freelined for a while. They gotta get it swallowed. After that, you got a lot better chance of getting a hook in them
Tbh you could probably make the same kind of bed-deck with just pallet wood. Hell just bolt some pallets together and nail a tarp over it. A few feet and all you need is some small rollers for the drawers. Congrats on getting it because it looks nice.
After the bad luck started I was expecting your baitcast rod to get yanked into the water when you set it down to go to your bobber rod. Then when your cell phone went off I expected it it end up swimming too. Do you usually get more fishing belownthe spillway when there is water running into it or is it better when the water is slack?
Truck is great..you should have seen the fishing mobile woodie i made out of a 1990 Camry..carried everthing..and a livewell for night monster garfish..51 inch was my best..but lost a much bigger one after 40 minuets...
I have been out fishing and had friends cast out the fishing net more than once. One even managed to cast out a folding chair. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people cast their rods right out of their own hands. We call it 'paying homage to the fishing gods'.
Last year I was rigging up my GFs pole & heard a noise. There goes my pole off the dock. Tried catching it. GFs uncle caught the pole, but it came off. Asked guy in a boat if he saw it. He caught pole & started feeling it in & said if it's a walleye he is keeping it. After a nice fight he reeled in a carp. Been catching fishing poles since I was a kid & had to catch my sister's poles.
Now you can strap a kayak down and if you need a live well you can fill a drawer with water(not). lol only one draw back to this system. If they steal the truck they get your gear as well but I guess they would anyways right.
The Modification is plain brilliance, and it looks to be Very Useful in more ways Then 1= I got'sta get one of the Truck Box's no doubt about that.__ As for the fishing part of the Video, well you stay 😎 under pressure, I'll give you that LOL" I've been fishing with people that just BlowUp when their day goes like yours, needless to say" i haven't been fishing with those jockers no more. Anyway thanks for the Video my friend,+the truck Sean ☑ If your ever out Tennessee way with alittle time to kill -Fishing, look me up, I'll show you where the Alligator Garr are 5-6-7-8 feet long, and brother im talkn bout hundreds. Hell yea Nick congrats on the truck i got lucky and basically got my dream truck as my first 1 its a 88 f150 my grandpa got for me and ive been slowly but surely fixing it up so it can run like brand new 😂
OMG I thought that was your camera you flipped in. Invest in some rod holders dude. You can use them up high on the wall and walk down to the landing zone and then reel in.
Have u tried using live bait and with the gar try smaller j hooks with your bait i fits in there mouth better and u will get more hook ups love the vids man keep it up
I always marvel at how the most unlikely stupid things happen while fishing. It's reassuring seeing them happen to other fisherman.
Love watching your videos. I like seeing the bad luck and bloopers. Lol. Makes you way more relatable
Sweeeet addition to your vehicle. Great video. Thanks for sharing 🐟😊and you saved your reel and rod too!
OmniFlex mono spool and a Crickhopper in the same box? Ahhh, a fellow Walmart shopper has been identified.
That made me laugh out loud !
Easily the clumsiest fisherman on yt! This one made me laugh so hard 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
No he just dont edit it out

Is that really your box? Lol!
Thomas Bloomquist no buddy I was just joking around.

I’m watching this video 10 minutes before I go fishing 😂

Hilarious intro, your my favorite, even funnier you almost lost your rod & reel made me gasp....damn that's funny, great content nice truck
When you wait for a gar to eat your bait you gotta wait also how did you throw your pole I twice
I remember when I was carp fishing I had a fish take the rod out into the lake, had to send the dog in to retrieve, fish was still on lol. Nice job on the truck nick xxx
Congrats on the new truck!!! Bought my first new truck last year 2018 F-150 4X4!!! Love it!!! I had a 2005 Jeep!!!
That intro though hahahahahaha! I dont mean to laugh man but that's hilarious
Congratulations on the new truck and the mod. Looks great.
And the best part of that truck modification is.... it comes with a bottle opener! Nice truck and 1st truck mod. 👍🏼👍🏼

In some states....your supposed to be with 100 feet of your fishing rod...
Cool video
That drawer thing for the truck is awesome!
Man that spillway looks like the perfect place to herp for watersnakes
Nick, Congratulations on your new truck. It looks really nice. So does the storage system.
Don't feel bad, I lost my high school class ring casting my rod 40 years ago. 1 years savings gone in a blink. My hands were wet and off the finger it flew into about 6 ft of water.
I´m glad I´m not the only one who´s managed to hook into and throw my other rod in the water.
Anthraxegott i threw a 500$ loomis and stradic setup off of a jetty one time, dove in and got it back
@@greygraham5361 Yeah, the initial panic does help for making quick decisions. I´ve had pretty good luck with mine so far. Either the hook didn´t let go, or I´ve managed to drag it back with a heavy spoonbait.

Anthraxegott yea i caught the striped bass in my profile pic on that rod, so glad i got it back
Congratulations on the new truck accessory!

Congrats on the fishing rig ! Well deserved!
My fishing truck is a Ford Excursion with the third seat removed I can fit 10 rods all my tackle boxes trolling motor you name it I love it!!!!!!!!!!
Your spillway videos are the best.
Nice drawer system. Is there a way to lock the drawers?
I was thinking the exact same thing🤔 especially as a youtuber....!

Tbh, that would be a shit system.
@@drumavenger83 I'm a cheapskate what can I say? Never said it would be better, just cheaper.

Love the new rig! Looks like you'll enjoy it. Congrats buddy!!!
*Good fishing beautiful fish, Congratulations this place is wonderful.*
*Hug and good fishing!* 👍🎣😉
Hahaha, dude, that was definitly NOT your day!! 🤣🤣
Loved the video again, thanks man!!
Super cool , I'm a big Mopar fan , love my Grand Cherokee summit , but your new rig is on a another lever , very nice .
Do they lock? Was that a private pond with the bass?
Yes you can lock 'em right on up. And if your tailgate locks then you are secure as anything. Drawers can't be opened with a closed tailgate!
Good choice picking Dodge!! Welcome to the family!
Truck is great..you should have seen the fishing mobile woodie i made out of a 1990 Camry..carried everthing..and a livewell for night monster garfish..51 inch was my best..but lost a much bigger one after 40 minuets...
All I seen was spillway and dream truck and I've never clicked so quick
The lake above the spillway is always muddy. I thought getting the decked system but i don't like how much truck bed space it takes.
I have been out fishing and had friends cast out the fishing net more than once. One even managed to cast out a folding chair. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people cast their rods right out of their own hands. We call it 'paying homage to the fishing gods'.
very very nice addition for your truck.
Glad you went with a mopar!
Congratulations on your bad ass truck🎉👍 Fish On🙏🎣
Truck is great...i did that with a camery and wood..never left home without my tackle..
Man thought sometimes I'm a hot mess while fishing.. glad I'm not the only one.. new sub here. Dig it so far
“See you later little fishy”

Your Ram is sweet! 🙂 Love your fishing show. It would be neat to see you and Richard Gene do a fishing show together
I step in my drawers all the time 😂
@3:13.... been there more than I'd care to admit. Nice save though!
Nice video and nice truck Rick.
What line/rod weight we’re you using for the ned rigg?
Curious if those bed storage box's lock or not?
Hope it locks? Tailgate lock would help too.
Congrats on the truck!!
And I can’t believe that you got your fishing pole back
Did your small rod go in twice?
Must use 2pc rods then?
