- Hasbro is the BEST! They...well to be fair, this one isn't all that bad. The NERF N-strike Elite 2.0 Eaglepoint RD-8 is a $21 USD 8-shot bolt-action blaster (with slamfire) that is super comfy... but at the same time, it's nothing really exciting. It's nothing, "new". That's my problem with Elite 2.0. It's kinda just the same thing, again, but worse. Is it super offensively bad? Not at all, but it's kinda boring... yet comfy.

The shell looks pretty dang amazing. its like a rayven, and a strongarm had a baby, and uncle longshot took care of them at times.

In my personal opinion, Hasbro should also bringing back N-Strike Elite.
I mean, why put out the old version of what we already have? Imo they should work more on the quality of 2.0 before bringing back some series/making new ones

I own it. It works great. Only as accurate as the darts.
Ok....initially I loved this blaster. But just after a few days of use....it fires on its own when priming. Not just sometimes, but every time through at least twice. Bit annoying and definitely keeps it only useful for messing around in the house. Still cool looking though.

Looks like a fun little blaster to mess around with. I could imagine someone just taking the internals out and just turn it into something that would be able to attach to your wrist, maybe even under a barrel. More excited for the Elite 2.0 Trailblazer...Might also be up to your speed too!
Just a bit of leather and only one bolt in, no need for anything else.

@@merlin9802 Alphahawk, I have one myself, got it when I was much younger. Fun blaster to plink around with. Of course I'm just a fan of revolvers in general. I plan to use my trusty old Disruptor as my secondary even. That's another one I got when I was younger, present from my folks and has given me a sense of security through some hard times. No other blaster I'd trust to be my sidearm.

I must say that while this is just Alphahawk 2.0, it's better in almost every way except for the slamfire. Removable bolt handles, larger capacity, much better performance, no swing-out cylinder so there's less slop. Given that the Alphahawk was just a Strongarm without the slamfire, the Alphahawk used a much sturdier catch design than the Strongarm. I wonder if it'd be possible to transplant an Alphahawk catch into the Eaglepoint and delete the slam fire for sake of a (sligtly) more robust priming system.
Walcom is way too underrated for his content quality. He's helped influence quite a few of my blaster buying decisions

I like some of his content, but sometimes his over the top yelling and exaggerated disdain for Hasbro are too much to bear. He forgets who these products are mainly intended for, and how differently that market views these things and what they want. Basically, 90% of the users are NOT perfomance oriented hobbyists or "modders"... unless you include a few stick on decals, marker pen and maybe some cheap spray paint. Kids do that sort of thing. 😁
I am betting people will use the shell for Sci Fi builds. It really looks like something from Destiny imo

Yes, please do. I finally tried to open a commander. I didnt believe it was as nightmarish as said...oh yes it was..yes yes yes it was. After about a minute iI threw it at the wall behind my garbage can and as fate had it it went exactly where it deserved to go.
My son and I were debating on this one in the isle at Walmart last night. I think if we see it on sale we'll get it. He doesn't need or want the mod potential. So for a kid, it's comfy, doesn't take long to reload with a low capacity, and it looks cool. I think he likes the thumbhole stock..
Thumbhole stocks are nice I've always preferred them even on real firearms. My crossbow had one too. Nerf is headed down a bad path where the best we can say is "well it has a cool stock"

i feel if its easy enough to take apart and mod it could be a fun beginner blaster to mod, work on the air seal , upgrade the sping and make it rear loading and you'd have a neat lil carbine
Man, I love when they put all the internals into their own cage like that. If this thing came out in like, 2007-2008, there would be one hanging under half the Longshots on nerfhaven. Too bad it came out in 2022, it kinda doesn't serve a purpose or fit a niche these days.

The Eaglepoint is the Stockade and Longstrike combined together, 2 blasters combined together I am absolutely speechless about how cool this blaster looks like.

It appears functional. It has on board dart storage for its cylinder. Nice lines. Functioning slamfire. Screw on bolt handles....for a random plinking blaster, this actually looks very ok. Itd be an ok secondary to keep on a sling, since its low capacity. I just wish the sling point was further back, but thats pretty minor. And its not glued and clipped shut!
Shame the plunger tube looks boxed in though...and its just a plastic trigger spring...
Finally. An elite 2.0 blaster that’s actually good.

It’s shooting over avg fps even with the barrel, I think the missing the target is partially human error and potential drag from the waffle head darts as it seemed that the regular darts performed notably better. Great review!
Thoughts;
I actually like the shell, but then I've generally liked the overall arsthetic of 2.0, even though the performance is garbage and the internals suck.
I like the recessed dart storage. Ditto the auto-return priming bars. The fact that it isn't solvent-welded and has easier clips is a bonus, but the plastic leaf spring trigger is and will always be a turn-off for me.
The barrel... the fact that literally every stock or barrel attachment we've seen in 2.0 is designed to mate with the blaster it comes with *and nothing else* tells me they've given up on the modularity idea, and are just using it to fit a longer blaster into the same sized box.
Tbh, I think this is another "grab it for a prop if i see one at Goodwill" for me.
I'm happy with this because it's cheaper than buying another Alphahawk, and I feel like you can never have enough bolt-action-revolver-inators.
When you said that the Eaglepoint is $21 I thought "that's a pretty good price!" but a split second later I remembered that the Adventerforce Villainator exists. When are they gonna stop just selling the logo and start actually trying?

This is really precise and fairly accurate with waffle darts. I just reload as I fire and avoid doing full reloads. It does really well for 20. I want to mod the primer so it catches every time and ill have no issues. It can dominate in qcb in short bursts so hopefully your support can cover you after the push.

I just picked up this gun from a thrift shop, I believe it was put there because the kid probably thought it was broken, so I got it for 3 bucks, tore it apart... and the little spring attached to the ark that rotates the drum was thrown out of position so it was an easy fix, now it works like a charm
At least this blaster has some mod potential, and seemingly a distinct lack of solvent welds (yay)
2:23 thought the stocks were small for adults, but man.. even a kid has to scrunch up on that thing just to use it.
Ok I was skeptical about this thing since watching American foam's review, and waited for others like you and draco, maybe coop so I could get a collective idea about it, and honestly it seems like a fun blaster to mess with, and I'd definitely love to remove the pins for short darts, can't believe I didn't think of it
My only dislike about it is the leaf spring trigger I hope it feels decent and not too stiff
My problem with the leaf springs is how fast they'll wear out under regular use, and how replacing them means a whole new trigger *or* heavily modifying it to take a normal compression spring.

I had to adjust the scope with painters tape, trading the barrel for a stormcharge barrel helped accuracy quite a bit for me (both guns benefitted from the swap), but the best part about this one is that you can effectively dual wield them if you hold them right... You wouldn't want it for outdoors competition, but as a plinker or inside apartment competition I reign king with it. 🥰

I'd like to see someone take the internals and put them in a new shell or maybe even turn them into an arm mounted 8 shot revolver. Like strap it to your arm and make it permanently slamfire.
I like the looks of this one. I rarely buy new blasters but this one might just make the cut.

This blaster is so bad in the practical ways. You’re never going to win a Nerf war with it. But it has so much emotional value to me I kinda really love it. This is my first ever Nerf blaster and I saved money for months to buy it, I will never throw it away.
Spring upgrade and a longstrike barrel. My revolving carbine dream is now reality! Now I'm gonna make it a pump action because why not.

The barrel actually works rather well on a Rayven or Orange Stryfe.
The look of luchathor just, “that’s what she said” is just amazing.
I want this two of this blaster. One for the sniper aesthetic(I want to figure out how to make it better). One to turn into a flywheeler. I love this blaster look. Would also figure out how to fix the scope to make sure it's actually usable

Honestly, this is not a bad blaster. I would say it is mid-tier overall. Definitely the best Elite 2.0 blaster.
Slamfire bolt revolver that's a mouthful, if one gutted it completely and replaced the internals with flywheels you could get a nice lookin bullpup with alot of effort I guess.

Id love to see mods for the commander and echo. They're fun little blasters and if the shells arent glued i think ppl should look into it. They have screws on the side but u never know. Id love to see cosmetic and upgrade mods for those 2.
While I don't really care about the performance of this, it looks really badass. I can see a custom paint job looking real nice on this mold.
i think this is like one of the best nerf blasters you could give to your cousin/kids for its price. 21 USD is cheap.

This kid was running around a playground with a small Elite 2.0 blaster (the one with weird scope and a laser) and was being really annoying and randomly shooting people and pointing the laser at people's eyes, so I took out my Jolt, which I coincidentally had and shot him twice at close range, one in the head, one in the balls.
I don't think he enjoyed that. He tried to use his blaster as a melee weapon, throwing it at me at full speed. He missed and the blaster was destroyed in the impact that followed. He ran away and I never saw him again.
Lmfao this proves that jolt is better than elite 2.0
With how you can remove the whole thing, i think a cool thing to do is use the shell as a rear end for a project and stick the internals ina custom made shell to have a cooler strongarm.

I'd have gotten this for my bro instead of the Rival Curveshot just to have a new blaster in our pool. He was still very if not more happy with that 12 round $25 rival blaster.
Goddammit, this one doesn't actually look terrible... which is saying a lot for elite 2.0. My only real issue with it is the scale. As it stands it looks like a kid tried to turn a disruptor into a rifle, which is not entirely a bad thing. Personally I like weird shit and this is definitely weird so... kinda sold?
It doesn't hurt that I cant help but look at this and think of it as a cursed attempt at making Jakobs SMG in Borderlands xD.

Kinda like the look of this one better then the alphahawk. Like the length of the stock on that one though. This one seems to be a little bit shorter. Please tell me if I'm wrong about the length of the stock. Always dig a thumbhole stock though.

So I have this blaster, I kinda messed up the priming system because it got dropped on pavement and it’s not as smooth
for a 21 dollar blaster this is pretty amazing and better than alphahawk.. that alphahawk thing costed me like 33 dollars. and i regret it. like its only 5 dart mag. at least we need an 8 or 10 for a primary. eagle point just fixed the flaws we didnt want..
