For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.
After fighting with the recoil spring for 15 minutes I found this video. Thanks man, my hands were starting to cramp up. The only thing I did differently is,That, I un did the knot on the pull handle and installed the cord on the spool so after loading the spool, the last step was just to get the string to the hole in the horsing Instead of trying to fish it through the housing and through the spool and then make the knot.
Thanks for your video bro‼️💯 Before ur video I was told these replacement parts were not meant to be opened back up and you had to just buy a whole new one when it came to replacing or repairing the cord string but after I followed your video step-by-step I ended up dropping the damn thing on the floor and it just exploded everywhere UGH 😩 😣 😑 so I’m watching your video and I’m about to try it again this time I will glue that damn thing to my hand Thanks man. Have a great one.‼️
jeez, I'm glad I didn't trash my recoil spring, it popped out on me today and I'm like there's no way I'm getting that spring back into position, now i see it is not that difficult, this will help me out greatly
great video, one suggestion, take the rope off the pull handle and wind it around the spool before you do the tension. Then you can just hold the string under tension with a clamp and tie the not onto the pull handle. easier than trying to feed the rope and hold the spring at tension. Thanks again for the video
there is an easier way to wind the pull cord with only two hands. Put the cord through the feral, case and pulley. Tie the knot in the pulley. Now, if you look at the pulley, you can see there is a small slot on the perimeter of the pulley. using a flat screw driver, push the cord int the slot. Now, assemble the pull into the case. loop the cord over the ratchet end. so it doesn't want to slide out of the slot. Wind the pulley for the 4 turns. On the final hold the pulley and slide the cord out of the slot. While still holding the tension on the pulley with a finger, lift the casing up to let the 4 winds of the cord relax ( because it gets twisted ). Now hold the cord and let it feed in slowly, releasing the pulley. No need to explain to the wife where she needs to hold thing.
@DennisLiverani, I have a Craftsman p2100 pole saw, and I've duplicated everything you did up to installing the clutch assy but the arrows aren't lining up like they did in your video! Any idea of what could be wrong?
For some reason my arrows are not lining up like yours was does it really matter? What got me to take this whole thing apart was that it doesn't engage the engine when I pull the start rope only about twenty to thirty percent of the time does it actually engage the engine and spend the engine over
@@dennisliverani4293 no wear at all...I'm wondering if the pulley itself just isnt spinning because of dirt...and it isnt engaging the gear...Think I'm just going to replace the whole mechanism and make sure I don't leave it outside again...
It definitely fix mine. But u need to break the metal holding seal ring to open the back whirling spring gear box. That seal is one time use and I see no where to sale that. I put everything back without the seal, it only last about 5 mins then all the gear box fall apart. Guess I would never buy this Walmart cheap shi@$t. They don't want you the fix it or replace the part.
This is why I will not buy Troy bolt, hyper tough, black max, craps man or any cheap modern Mtd type weedwacker. When something goes wrong with it, Get yourself a STIHL or an ECHO.
Thanks so much. This is the only video where it shows how to wind up the pull cord.
You’re welcome

Thank you for this awesome video, I would not have bee able to properly fix mine without you.
You’re welcome, glad it helped you out.
Very helpful video. Exactly what I was looking for (and couldn't find from other videos regarding this subject).
Thank you
Except for how he broke it down.
Thanks for going through the process, best explanation on the YT. I just finished doing my neighbors.
Thank you
Thanks for the video, this is the exact string and coil system in my craftsman 25cc
Awesome video! Would’ve never figure this out. Suggestion for holding spool while tying knot is needle nose vise grips
Thank you, that’s also a good idea.
This also works for the Craftsman WS 2200. Thanks for the video!
Thank you
No need to be sorry in your video you did an awesome job step by step great video 👍
Thank you

A trim nail and a flat screwdriver in a drill makes it a 50- 60 second job of rewinding spring
Nice. I’ll have to try that next time, thanks.

Do you see any wear on any of those plastic pieces or any worn teeth? Maybe try flipping that sprint around and see if that helps.

After hours of trying to get spring on pull start for sears hotwheels 40cc go cart
I did all steps, now when I pull it makes a scraping noise..help..
I’m trying to get the pulley cord off my string popped
Excelente, its the same for bolens b110
can u do this without taking the pull string out?
Magnific
Thank you

How did you get the red thing off?
If I remember right, the red cover only had like 4 torx screws. They are on the top.
I wished things never broke .. like my family
This is why I stick with Stihl or an ECHO.
Damn bro thats deeep
