    Hey Ian, Nice job. My JL Sahara has the bigger brakes and they work very well. Cheers.

      Thank you! They seem to be a big improvement over the oe JK brakes but I've only driven 20ish miles on them so far. Did you order the JL with them or was it part of a special package like max tow?

      @@ianmburke Yeah, I really think they are great. They come standard on the Sahara and Rubicon JLs.

    I am looking at doing this upgrade. It looks like the link above shows this kit discontinued. Do you have the part #'s ? Great video!

    As always Ian, a stellar job with all your data/explanations! Did you ever do a brake test before/after on speed/distances from old/new? I'm sure you have all the data somewhere

      Thanks Robert! ❤ I really appreciate it, I did not do a brake distance test unfortunately but I have noticed an amazing difference in the rears which keeps the jeep way more level when stopping quickly (rather than nose diving)

    Long term review on them? Big difference? Also Pedal feel the same ?

    • @ianmburke
      @ianmburke  Год назад +1

      Night and day difference, pedal should be the same roughly if bleed correctly. Stopping power is dramatically different

    Curious if you upgraded the booster or master cylinder. How is the pedal feel.

    • @ianmburke
      @ianmburke  Год назад +1

      I actually never did! And the pedal feels tight like it should but I didn't do the proper bleeding procedure twice, using a brake bleeder which pulls a vacuum

    Hey man nice job with the install and data logging ,,,,, is this the mopar big brake upgrade for the Jeep jl I also have a jk and wasn’t sure if this kit would work can you please provide a part number if it’s not too much trouble thank you

    • @ianmburke
      @ianmburke  2 года назад +1

      The kit I installed is designed for the JL. Some came with it from factory and others did not from what I understand. The bolt patterns on the big break kit do fit the dana44 axels of the JK as well as the JL with the small amount of dust guard trimming. The part # should be in the video description, but I will double check when I'm not replying from my phone 👍

    I'm guessing that you missread the torque specs for that bolt. 147 lb ft is WAY too much for that size of bolt. Near as I can tell it should have been 70 lb ft.

    • @ianmburke
      @ianmburke  3 года назад

      In all of my years 80ft/lbs has been my go to with blue thread locker, but I was following the directions and it clearly shows 200Nm 147.5ft/lbs if you pause at 11:06 you can actually see it. I completely agree though that is waaaay too much torque on those.

      @@ianmburke The fronts are 147.5 ft lbs, but the rears are a smaller diameter bolt and only require 74 ft lbs.
