Could not agree more. I hear an amp on 11 way past the sweet spot, or a clean amp with a distortion pedal turned all the way up I stop watching. Any guitar will do that. Lets hear the character and voice of the GUITAR. I love this channel for that reason.
Hi, I'm an Italian guitarist, and I wanted to congratulate you. You are one of the guitarists with the most expressive touch and the most complete and refined technique around. When there is wisdom in the construction of the phrasing and global vision of the writing of the piece, there is no need for useless "virtuosity" or links heard a thousand times as an end in themselves. I would like you to tell me if there are any videos of concerts you have made, and I would like to know if by any chance you will come to play in Italy and if so, when and where. Congratulations, and good music. Luca Falcone.
@@restlessspirits5630 And more , he HAS NOT a firm touch to play Guitar : It´s awful his playing . For start he should stop SHAKING de Guitar while he plays : Does not help at all . I am sorry .
@@monkeyrevolution1964 ok, that’s interesting. Who would you say is a better example of someone demonstrating the broadcaster? I’m just trying to learn about this, so I believe you - I’m sure you’re much more of an expert than me, but if you’re saying someone is bad, it’s really helpful to provide an example of someone who’s better
Oh my lord! That was absolutely gorgeous. That Broadcaster is about the best sounding Tele I’ve ever heard. But that guitarist….. who the heck IS he? He’s what I want to be when I grow up. Awesome
@@davidallman653 Hi David. Thankfully, yes! When I scrolled to 3:53 I was dreading you were asking about all these complex single note runs….. in which case the answer would have been No 🤣. But those chordal movements, whilst gorgeous, are fairly normal. At one point he’s simply following the exact chords of the song, but just highlighting 2 notes from each chord instead of 5 or 6, to give more of a “lead guitar” vibe. And then at other points he’s “suggesting” or “anticipating” the next chord by sliding up to the chord from 3 frets below. All quite normal. Actually, as a point of interest, I think he accidentally spells out a major chord at one point, but he meant to spell out a minor…. this occurs at 4:03. Not only can you hear this but it’s the first time I think I’ve ever heard him make a mistake…. And he acknowledges it by raising his eyebrows 3 seconds later at 4:06. That said - I think he’s one of the best guitar players I’ve ever heard in my life, and so I think I’m gonna forgive him 🤣.
Approaching 75 years soon, just a classic design. Amazing how many guitars and amp designs there were where he knocked it out of the park. These designs are still as relevant today as they were in the 50’s and 60’s.✌️ Tasteful player.
Some of the most tasteful playing you will find on RUclips - or anywhere for that matter. Thank you Tobias for your talent and for showing off the genius of the Telecaster...
I loved his face at the end when he switched to the forward position and accessed the "dark tone" on that vintage guitar with the early blend wiring circuit, which nowadays many regard as "useless". Proof that there is nothing "useless" in the hands of a creative and talented player as Tobias (what a beautiful outro it was using the "dark tone")
Much agreed, my guitar brother! And that wiring is the only thing I'd have on a Telecaster. Did you know you can put the switch into the #2 (notch) position and get both pickups, some are wired in-phase, some (like James Burton's), out of phase.
I came here for the Broadcaster, stayed for the beautiful playing. The emotion you have expressed via that broadcaster is so joyful. Thank you for that beautiful playing.
Wow That’s how to demonstrate how good tone should be! not over saturated gimmick effects that makes all guitars sound the same . Fabulous tone superb playing and feel Well done that man
This guy reminds me of Roy Buchanan. Only better. Don't think I've seen anyone with this level of pure feeling in their playing before. And those volume swells near the end - totally masterful 😮👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
That may be the best demo of all time... Beautiful playing! Absolutely perfect touch & feel. Brought out every ounce of nuance & tone that could be found in that lovely old Fender.
As a kid my best friend mom/dad had a Broadcaster underneath their bed ,they let me play it once... they told me you may never have the chance to play another one because these guitars are going to be valuable. I have long time been a firm believer in a clean guitar!!!!
Along the renewed ES-175, ES-5 and aerchtops, this is absolutely an amazing guitar to play jazz with... And it's a damn solid body guitar!!! What a warm and splendid sound...
I watch this demo at least once a day since I discovered it. I ordered a Fender Telecaster because of this video. Just pure natural timbre and tone...Inspiring to say the least...Thanks Tobias
Agreed, glad I found this. Just FYI, the “middle” position on the switch is just the neck pickup on the Broadcaster. The forward or 1st is the neck in a Dark circuit, and the third is the Bridge… BUT, you can use the second knob, which is usually a tone on telecasters, as a blend to blend the neck into the bridge. So you have no TONE knob… you have Bridge/Blend with Neck, Neck, and Neck in Dark circuit.
Die Gitarre ist nicht schlecht aber der Typ macht mich fertig. Tenderly messed up..... Das ist das Beste, was ich seit langer Zeit gehört habe.... Danke Tobias Hoffmann!
That’s incredible on so many levels. It’s a wonder the industry bothered developing more models when there was so much versatility in this. The tonality of the neck pickup is well… breathtaking. Is Tobias playing flatwounds? As ever he is just brilliantly, depressingly great. Damn! Thanks for this.
For those that don't know, this was the guitar's original name. Unfortunately, Gretch owned the name Broadcaster, so they had to change the name of the guitar. For awhile, it was known as "The Nocaster", but eventually Fender settled on a new name. Thus The Telecaster was born.
So Beautiful played .... I LOVE clean tones .... and when the sound breakup in the amp ... that's superior to what there is .... Nothing any better .. . NO never
Why so few youtube performances use clean sounds is beyond me. This is magic.
because all they want is an overdriven amp where the speakers are farting right out of their holes
I agree with you so much...
Spot on

The perfect combination of an amazing guitarist and folk that know how to mic an amp!
That man is a musical treasure.

Incredible guitar but Tobias Hoffman makes it work. He is what everyone want to ear in a guitar demo: a good player
