- The Poet and The Mystic: A Transformational Dialogue between David Whyte and Thomas Huebl was recorded at their first meeting at the annual gathering of the Next Practice Institute sponsored by Mobius Executive Leadership in June of 2017.
There is, in New Zealand, a native called the Kanuka tree. She is a nursing mother tree. She comes first into traumatised forests. Those that are razed to the ground or destroyed by felling. And she plants herself as a pioneer and a watcher. She waits for the seeds of the other natives to be dropped by birds flying over this barrenness and, as they germinate, she shelters them. One day they grow strong enough for her to yield and let them surpass her with their strength and longevity. In despair, at an intergenerational mother wound, without knowing she would answer, I laid my head against her branches, and with such tender wisdom she took it all and showed me how to 'stand' it, and how to yield, and how to bear the mother load, and how we do so for one another - wholeheartedly. "Such love in solid wood". The poet and the mystic know with deep-rooted knowing that there is such wisdom in tree and stone. The standing still and watching, tenderly supporting the human who can continue to lean in and learn, not leave but love, still now and still moving, walking with and forever. Thank you David and Thomas. And Amy for hosting this mobius dialogue - the yielding and holding between two clearsighted minds and two hearts wholly open. "Given" and giving from and to the carver's hands.
This dialogue is so heart breakingly beautiful.
I will never look at stone and despair the same again.
Thank you David and Thomas...
«If only our own faces
would allow the invisible carver’s hand
to bring the deep grain of love to the surface.» ∞ David Whyte
Dr Bruce Wauchope explains the cause of the world's trauma. We cannot solve problems, but rather come to the knowledge of truth that transforms.

Words of a Poet
may bring silence
inside and around...
The Poet and the Mystic,
for those who feel or wish to feel one.
Connecting with mystical poetry,

Not to be negative, but why does it always involve "leadership" and "executives?" Does is always boil down to money?
Peter -- Thomas has many free offerings on RUclips and soundcloud ..and on his website are various ways for individuals to engage with his work. And then many find a way bring this work within the world in the unique way they do.
Yes, there's nothing more enlightening then complete spiritual mumbo jumbo and psycho babble for the soul.
Well, the poetry claims only to be poetry, not sure how Huebel's overly quiet voice can follow poetry that actually says something, embarrassing.
Out of interest, do you put the poet in that category as well? .. just wondering, as I was put onto this poet by a friend so don't know enough about him yet!
